How can I sort my photos in a descending or ascending order as I could in iPhotos?

    Greetings Regina,
Hope Waukesha is treating you well, haven't been there in years
Events are sorted in the following ways:
If Date, Keyword, Title, and Rating are not what you are looking for then it is time to start using Albums.
Highlight the images you wish to work with and then go to File > New > Album (you can drag more images into this Album later if you want to arrange more of them.)
Once you have the images in an Album you can use the "Manually" sort option which means you can drag the images into whatever order your heart desires.
    Hope that helps.

Apple TV sorts my photos only in ascending order, how can I change so the most recent EVENTS appear first?

I'm looking for an answer to this, too, since I have thousands of Events, and so scrolling down to the bottom every time I want to show my newest photos makes it almost unusable.

  • How can I link specific cells in two different speadsheets so the data from a specific cell in spreadsheet A automatically updates in a specific cell in spreadsheet B. It works in Xcel- Any ideas?

How can I link specific cells in two different tables so the data from a specific cell in table A automatically updates in a specific cell in table B? It works in Xcel- Any ideas?

    (1) your title ask the way to link different spreadsheets.
In Numberland, a spreadsheet is an entire document.
There is no way to link different documents.
    (2) in the message, you ask the way to link different tables.
This feature is available and is described in iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide (which is available for free from the Help menu).
Getting the info just requires a simple search in this available resource !

  • Launchpad: How do I automatically organise apps in different orders (eg, kind, date purchased, etc) as you can with folders in Finder?

Launchpad: How do I automatically organise apps in different orders (eg, kind, date purchased, etc) as you can with folders in Finder?

I don't think that is possible. You can manually arrange them, but there is no ability to automatically do it.

  • Output in different order than in select statement.

I'm executing the following query. Just wondering if I'm missing something:
    select a.constraint_name, a.table_name, a.r_constraint_name, b.column_name, c.table_name, c.column_name from user_constraints a
    inner join user_cons_columns b on (a.table_name=b.table_name and a.constraint_name=b.constraint_name)
    inner join user_ind_columns c on (a.r_constraint_name=c.index_name)
    where a.r_constraint_name='QUE_PK' and b.position=c.column_position
    order by b.position
(replace QUE_PK with your own primary key referenced in a foreign key)
The columns appearing in the resultset are in different order than in the select statement.
They came as follows: constraint_name, r_constraint_name, table_name, table_name, column_name, column_name. If I aliase one of the column, the result set is ok.
    I'm using version 1.1.0.23 on Ubuntu 6.10 against a 10g r2.

To double check, you can go to <sqldeveloper>/system/oracle.sqldeveloper.1.1.0 (this may be <user_dir>/system/oracle.sqldeveloper.1.1.0 on your computer) and delete all of the *TableSettings.xml files. That will erase any custom column orders that you may have saved.

  • How can I sort my photos within albums on the iPad? Apple software *****!

The primary reason I got an iPad was to use it as a portfolio of my photography. How is it possible that with Apple software you can't easily sort photos in a custom order within albums?!? I've heard there is a way to use Dropbox to work around (ignore) Apple software. Any help? If Apple engineers are reading this, can you please address this? And can we not use something called iTunes to work with pictures? No sense here.

  • How can I sort my photos by size?  I need to get rid of those which are too small to print.

Is there a way to sort individual photos in iphoto by size.  (I know you can sort photos in finder- picture by size, but mine are in iphoto). I am organizing my thousands of photos into files within iphoto in order to print hundreds.  I am finding that many are too small to ever print (20-30kb) , and would like to delete those en masse rather than waste time sorting them, but cannot find a way to do that.  Does anyone know if there is a way?  It would be a terribly useful function.  Also, sorting by size would enable you to resize photos that take massage amounts of room unneccesarily.  Thanks for any info.

No there is no way to do this.
Also, sorting by size would enable you to resize photos that take massage amounts of room unneccesarily.
No it wouldn't. There's no way to change the filesize in iPhoto, it always preserves the original file.

  • Can I open a tab with a different page than my homepage?

I wanted to find out if it's possible to open a tab with a different page than my homepage.  It doesnt seem that I can do what I want because when I go to Safari Preferences/General, the only options for tab open is topsites/homepage/empty page/same page/bookmarks.  I'm surprised it doesnt let you select your own choice of page - if that is different from your home page.  It would seem t his would be so simple...Why cant I have a different webpage as my homepage when I open a new window and something else when I open a new tab.  But apparently I cant.
Let me know if there's a way to do it.

Actually I did get it to work the way I wanted to; thanks.  Its hard to explain but I had to set my homepage to what I wanted my tab to be , and then set my new window to the folder with just the one URL.  So in this one example (although now I know I can customize it).  I set my homepage to igoogle but then set my tab to open with my homepage (which really isnt my homepage) and a new window to open with a folder that just had "Google News" in it.
Seems confusing and a lot of steps to do something that could easily be accomplished by just letting the user type in the URL of what they wanted.   Instead, I had to jump through hoops and basically set up a homepage that is not really a homepage because my new windows wont open with it as a homepage...so what makes it a homepage?  If that logic makes sense.  A homepage is not really a homepage then.
This is another example of where if Id ask Apple, theyd tell me it couldnt be done.  Ive had the worst luck with Applecare and instore trainers.  Most of the time when they tell me "I Dont know" or "This can't be done", I post something here and get the answers.

  • Can you sort tasks in Outlook MAC 2011 by alphabetically by date?

I can either sort by date or sort alphabetically....i want to be able to sort by date in alphabetical order - any suggestions?

    Hi Sophie,
It would be much better if you put this query on the Outlook Mac community support:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011
By the way, sorting tasks in Outlook Mac 2011 is too simple, just click on
“Tasks” from the bottom of “Navigation Pane” and accomplish sorting according the requirement.

  • Front Row shows Aperture projects in different order than Aperture does

I have a bunch of projects, carefully organized in such a way that I can find them easily. Front Row just seems to display them ordered randomly.
Anyone aware of a fix for this?

    Johnathan Burger wrote:
    2) Did you add track #'s?
Yeah. I made 5 short videos, and set then as "1 of 5" "2 of 5" etc.
I can't understand why it's out of order in Front Row.
As for question 1, the weird thing is when the genre was set to "documentary and drama" it was in TV Shows on Front Row, but when I changed it to just "drama" now it's in the movie section... weird, but that's fixed now.

  • When creating a photo book how can I sort the photos shown by file name?

I am creating a photo book. The photos shown in the right hand column appear out-of-order. How do I sort them by file name? The album in iPhoto the book is based on is sorted by file name.

You can not - they are soreted by date
--  the only solution I have seen is to put them in an album sorted the way you and and then use the batch cnage command to redate them with a small invrement between so a data sort matches your desired sort  --  I personally do not want to redate a bunch of my photos nor do i want  to have to go through and un-re- date a bunch

  • How can I sort my photos on my iPad2 so they are organized by orientation?

I cannot be the only one who gets terribly annoyed as a photographer showing beautiful images on a beautiful device like my iPad2 and having to constantly rotate and turn my iPad as I am showing them to a client, etc. so they can see them in their full glory. There has to be a way to make the images sort by landscape and vertical/portraits I would seriously hope. I have tried naming them, sorting the verticals and landscapes in individual folders and nothing. This is a serious weak link in such a cool device I hope someone has a solution for. I just want to turn my device once when showing my portfolio to someone...go through either all the landscape orientation first or verticals first. PLEAAASSSEEE HELP!
    Thanks.

Take a look at an app called PhotoPad by ZAGG in the app store. It's free. You MAY be able to rotate your photos with it - right on the iPad - save it the way you want it - and the you can delete the photo with the incorrect orientation. If there is something weird going on with the file though this may not work either.
PhotoPad will not name or organize the photos but you can do a good bit of editing with it and like I said, it's free and it's really a nice little app.

  • Book: can I sort the photos by title not by date

Creating a book in iPhoto is now much cumbersome.  In the past, I could arrange the photos in an album and when I created the book from the album, the photos were sorted according to their order in the album.  Now, the photos are sorted by date.  How can I change the sort to 'title' and not 'date' in the list of photos in the book?
    Lance

You can't - you can select the photos in the album and use the batch change date time command wth a small increment to make the time sequence match your order
