Can i still get an insurance for my 1 year old iPad mini

can i still get/buy an insurance for my 1 year old iPad mini

No, it is accurate information.  Read the AppleCare documentation
http://www.apple.com/support/products/ipad.html
A product is either eligible for AppleCare, or it is eligible for AppleCare+.  No product is eligible for both extended warranty plans.  An item eligible for AppleCare is NOT eligible at ANY time for AppleCare+ and an AppleCare+ eligible item is NOT eligible for AppleCare at ANY time.
Each item has a specific extended warranty plan it is eligible for.  Those eligible for AppleCare+ are eligible ONLY for AppleCare+.
Since I do not know where the op is, I phrased my initial response as I did.  IF they are in a country where AppleCare+ was available for their device, then no, they cannot purchase AppleCare for it, ever.  Only if they are in a country that did not offer AppleCare+ (yet) and the item was eligible for AppleCare could they add it anytime within the year after purchase.

Sorry, when you permitted your friend to do that, you forfeited the right to an out of warranty replacement.
Apple makes it quite clear that if you or anyone else attempts to open the phone, not only is all warranty/support voided, but you forfeit the right to an out of warranty replacement.

  • Apple ID for my 9 year old - How can I set up an ID for my 9 years old. We have bought him an ITouch for his birthday, he also has a $30 iTunes card. To load up the iTunes card he needs an ID. When I try to set him up it says he is below the min age.

How can I set up anApple ID for my 9 years old. Every time I try it tells me he is bolew the min age. If this is the case how can he download free games and how can he redeem his birthday $30 iTunes card? I dont want him to use my ID as it has my credit card details.
I'm very fustrated with this as it seems the Apple kit is for 13 years and older only.
    Cheers
    Brad

That's great your 9-yr-old is responsible enough to handle an iTouch!
There's no way around the age limit. I suggest a family account that you, an adult, control.

  • Can i still get apple care for my macbook pro 13 inch?

I purchased the macbook pro 13 inch at the apple store on july of 2009. I opted to not get the apple care and now i kind of want it. Can i still get the apple care even if the macbook pro was purchased two years ago?
also how long will the apple care last?
and so if i take in my macbook pro with a problem and it requires repair the apple care will cover that and i wont have to pay as much as i would without the apple care?

Sorry, no. Apple-care must be purchased within the first year of ownership.

  • How can i setup an apple ID for an 80 year old family member in another country from my country

    Hi ,
I am trying to set up an old 3gs for my 80 year old father and i need an apple id for him. I get an error on the apple website when i try to set an apple id up for him, no explanation just "error: this page cant be displayed.Contact support for additional information. The Incident ID: N/A.".
I'm assuming its some kind of security error because I'm trying to do this from the UK and his address is in Spain. I hope to deliver via another family member who is going out to Spain. I would like it to be completely set-up for him.
    Any Advice would be appreciated.

But when ever I type in my Visa Card number it won't work why is that ? Does a german Credit card not work in the Dutch apple Store?
    Correct
Also when I type in my adress it does not work either. Is it not possible to have a German adress and a dutch apple ID ?
Correct again. You must have a valid credit card and address for the country whose App Store you are trying to use.

  • Can I still get a replacement for free

My iPod touch has been charging on my bed and it has fell off and cracked all the screen. I still have a warranty as I got it last may. Can anybody help?

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, so no, you will not get a replacement for free. Apple does not repair iPods, but will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPod serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further support from Apple will be void.
    Regards.

  • Can you still get store credit for non-Apple repaired phone?

    Hi all,
My brother has an iPhone 5 which recently has a malfunctioning screen - it is out of warranty so replacing it will cost $250.  My family is thinking of switching over to a different carrier and we were planning on returning our iPhones for Apple credit. I was wondering if I were to get a non-Apple certified replacement screen, would I still be able to return the phone for Apple credit? Or, if I were to go ahead with the $250 replacement, will I still get the full credit on the iPhone 5 back (valued at $375)?
    Thanks!

Some US Apple stores are now able to in-store repair iPhone 5-series devices...teh price for the screen is $149.  Check with your Apple store to see if they can do the repair.

  • Is this normal for a 2 year old iPad?

Ive had an ipad for about two years but the battery seems to be wearing down. It used to hold 11 or twelve hours of battery but now it barely holds 7 and this is where it gets interesting.
i used ibackup bot to retrieve some battery information and it showed this
    CycleCount: 252
    DesignCapacity: 6583
    FullChargeCapacity: 5743
This means that its at 87% of its original capacity so surely it shouldnt have knocked three or four hours off the battery
It seems defective but i dont have applecare so id need to pay up £86 to replace it.
It could also be being eaten by ios 7 which is an issue which i havent yet had unless possibly now.
could someone provide me with some insight or advice please,
    thanks

    Batteries do degrade over time.
I would also say, unless there had been found a defect in your battery, it's not covered under the warranty anyway. And intensive things like videos or games will wear the battery down faster.
I think what you're experiencing is normal.

  • Can you still get internal HDs for the G4 PB 12"?

I still use my trusty 12" Powerbook G4 for my hobby of freelance writing and photography. Indeed, the ONLY thing currently 'wrong' wih it - for what I need from it these days - is that the internal 40Gb hard drive is now way to small for all the stuff I want to keep on it.
Is it still possible to get compatible internal hard drives for it? If I can get a 500Gb internal hard drive, it'll save me the expense of having to buy a whole new laptop. Which seems a bit silly as the Powerbook G4 is still more than adequate in every other way!
(I know I could get an external drive, but an internal one woould be a whole lot better!)
    Can anybody help, please?

    Robin:
As noted, yes, PATA drives are still available for your computer. Here is a list of available drives for your computer at OWC. You do have a lot of tiny screws to deal with, but it can be managed. The most troublesome are two tiny screws on each side of the case. Be very careful not to damage the heads of the screws. You will also discover that the 1.5 GHz version does not have an EMI finger to be removed, as noted in the step by step directions. In addition to the step by step directions from iFixit here are few tips you may find helpful:
    • Print out the ifixit directions as well as the screw guide ahead of time.
    • Be sure you have the right tools. You don't want to damage the screw heads or you may never get them out. And the Torx screw driver is critical. For a spudge I use the handle of an old toothbrush (choose one made of hard plastic), cut off the brush and bevelled the handle end like a flat blade screw driver). For some spudge jobs a credit card will do the trick.
    • Picking up on one user’s suggestion, I clicked on the pages of each step which involved removing screws to enlarge, then printed out the pages. I poked holes in the paper where the screws were removed, poked the screws in the holes and stacked the pages in order in which the screws were removed. Reassembling was a lot easier. No cups to tip over and spill. No guessing. Each screw was exactly in the right place. You can use an ice cube tray, egg carton, dixie cups etc. I previously used small medicine cups one for the screws in each step. I nested them so that the last ones out and the first to go back in are on top. (Some users report cutting up the screw guide and placing the applicable section in each container.)
    • Be very careful pulling out leads. Hold the lead as close to the plug as possible and wiggle (the plug ) to loosen its grip. Don’t hold the wires and pull as that can damage the cable, or worse, in some instances pull the wires out of the plug. Indeed, some users have pulled the socket off the logic board! Use needle nose pliers or tweezers if you can access the plug, or nudge the plug with a small instrument to help loosen its grip.
    • Use force gently in removing parts. Separating upper and lower case takes some doing. Use a plastic tool (spudge) so as not to mar the case.
    • Refer to the screw guide when reassembling computer. Putting longer screws in the wrong place can perforate the circuit board.
Please do post back with further questions or comments.

  • Can I still get conv72 (sp_converter) for Sybase to Oracle SP migration?

If the answer is yes, please email me the instructions at [email protected]
    Thanks,
PS: I know I can use the Workbench, but that seems over-killing for just some stored procedures.

    Cruz,
Check out Sybase under the following link for conv72:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/migration/toolkits/content.html
We would prefer you to use the workbench but whichever tool you use,
please inform us of stored procedure manual conversion best practice so we can document it and if practical automate it in the future.

  • How do I set up an Apple ID for my 8 year olds new iPad Mini?

My 8 year old daughter got a brand new iPad Mini for Christmas and I'm trying to set it up for her to use. I keep getting a notification saying that I nee to create a Family Sharing Group from another device that has iOS 8 or later... my device is iOS 7 and am not getting an option in my iCloud setting to create a Family Sharing Group. I'm not sure what I can do since I can't make an apple ID for my daughter on her iPad mini getting started and setting it up for use...

As stated in the message your received (as you mentioned above), you need to use iOS 8 to setup/use Family Sharing. If you are using iOS 7, you cannot setup/use Family Sharing. To setup/use Family Sharing, you must update your devices to iOS 8.

I removed Microsoft Office 2008 but still get Microsoft Autoupdate for it.  I can't complete the upgrade because the application is removed, but cannot make the auto update prompt go away either.  Is there a trace of Office 2008 somewhere creating this problem and how do I get rid of it?

Thanks for the tip.  Went through the process on Microsoft's site and the files that were causing the issue were the com.microsoft files in Library-Preferences.  Removed all of those, then opened an Office 2011 application; had to go through some basic setup questions the first time, but I no longer get prompted upgrade 2008.
