Can i still upgrade to osx 10.5 from 10.4

would like to upgrade to 10.5 so i can run some new PS and LR programs.
How difficult is this processs and where would i go to purchase the software? I don't see it listed on the site. thanks, Owen

Yes. It is called enforcement of their license agreement. It is called the piracy laws. Last I looked software piracy carried a very stiff penalty. You often can get Leopard for cheaper if you just call the Apple Store. The web based order system does not offer Leopard on Apple's store, but the phone based order line usually has it.

  • Can I still upgrade only to ios 6 from ios 5.1

There's an app I want to use that requires at least ios 6 but I currently have only ios 5.1;  I see people are having a lot of issues currently with ios 7.  So i'm wondering if I can update just to ios6?  If so how?  Software update only seems to indicate ios 7?  Thanks!

iOS 6 is no longer available for your iPad 2.  iOS 7 is the Current update
    Note:
The iPad 1 can only update as far as iOS 5.1.1

    Hello royalaqua,
I do think you should ask yourself if upgrading to Lion is the right course to take.
Snow Leopard is an excellent OS and Lion has literally been frozen out after barely a year.   Remember too that some of your apps may not work with Lion (those that have Rosetta, for example) so that could mean more new purchases.   Plus you may need to uprate your RAM too.

Yes, see > OS X Mountain Lion - Apple Store (U.S.)
You could also go to Mavericks, see > Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mavericks.

I have After Effects CS5 and need to work on a CS5.5 project. Can I still upgrade to 5.5? I can't find it anywhere. I have a VERY limited budget.

Do you have $50? You could become a subscriber to the Creative Cloud for that and get the very latest version of AE (which is version 12.2 right now, whereas CS5.5 is version 10.5). You would get access to the Roto Brush, the 3d camera tracker, and a Lite version of Cinema 4D along with a ton of other enhancements and new features!
Adobe is only selling CS6 (version 11) these days and renting both CS6 (version 11) and CC (version 12).
For free you could download CS6 or CC and use the trial for 30 days.
Alternatively, you could download a trial of CS5.5 (down this page somewhere: http://prodesigntools.com/tag/ddl) and use it for the next 30 days.
Another option: you can look for third-parties selling their copies of CS5.5, but beware of shady people selling pirated software.

Even through iTunes.  You can upgrade, but only to iOS 8.0.2.  Apple is no longer signing to anything lower on 4S and higher.

  • Can I still upgrade to Creative Suite 5.5 from CS 4?

Is it possible to purchase an upgrade to Creative Suite 5.5 from CS 4 instead of having to buy the upgrade to CS 6 before 12/31/12 to stay qualified for upgrade pricing after 1/1/13?
    Thank you.

CS5.5 is no longer available. You may have some luck in finding leftover
stock but this is a dangerous game unless that the seller is an
    authorized reseller of Adobe software.
You can find all of the current Adobe special offers here, including the
option of moving to Creative Cloud, which will also get you CS7 in the

Yes.  While it might depend on where you are located, go to the following page to purchase and be sure to select Upgrade.

Yes. Go here, Creative Suite 6, and select the Buy option next to Photoshop CS6 then change the option for "I want to buy" from Full to Upgrade. It's $199 for the non-Extended version and $399 for Extended upgrades from CS5.

Tried to upgrade to osx 10.9 from 10.7 and I didn't notice that it downloads in the launcher. I turned my mac off and ever since then it has glitched out and will not download no matter what I do. I have had it for 3 years which is out of warranty. It now has a blank bar under the launch pad and no matter how many times I try re-downloading it or restarting my computer it does not work. I use too play starcraft and other games on this computer although new patched/updates have made it that I can no longer do that now. Really frustrating having to deal with this especially after buying this computer upfront and now out of warranty.

Go to your Applications folder and find a file called "Install OS X Mavericks".  Send it to the trash and delete it.  Then try the download again.

  • How do I upgrade to  osx 10.6 from my 10.5.8

how do I upgrade to  osx 10.6 from my 10.5.8

Be sure the computer meets the minimum requirements:
    Snow Leopard General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
    Then follow this procedure:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD from Apple's Online Store - $29.00.
Boot From The Snow Leopard Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
Follow the screen instructions for installing Snow Leopard.
    E. If updating:
    Download and install update(s)
    Use Software Update, or
    Download standalone updater(s).

  • Can I still upgrade?

Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium comes with Adobe
    Dreamweaver® CS3, Flash® CS3 Professional,
    Photoshop® CS3 Extended, Illustrator® CS3,
    Fireworks® CS3, Acrobat® 8 Professional, Contribute®
    CS3, Bridge CS3, Version Cue® CS3, and Device Central CS3.
I own version 8 of all of these, and PS cs2.... but I don't
own Illustrator. Can I still buy the upgrade software? For the
extra $100 to upgrade with Premium vs. Standard, it seems worth it,
but what will happen with Illustrator?

That's a good question, but my guess is, you would get it,
    and it would
install - each of these apps installs as a new, standalone
    app, I believe.
