Can I stop ALL incoming calls?

I am going to Europe and signed up for international calling, but do not want to pay $1.99 for every incoming call. I was told even if I do not answer a call that it will cost me $1.99. Since I will be using my phone for several applications and email I do not want to turn my phone off just so calls do not come through. I'm hoping I'm just missing a setting as this situation would make my Iphone nearly unusable if I have turn turn it off and on dozens of times daily. Ideas? Cheers ~ Rob

Am I missing something here? Why not just forward all calls to your voicemail number before leaving the US.
Unless you prevent your phone from registering on a roaming network, then without such forwarding already in place calls will forward to the roaming network before either ringing your iPhone or going to voicemail. Either way this will incur a charge. In the case of calls that hit the roaming network and then go to voicemail you incur a double charge: the cost of forwarding the call to the roaming network plus the cost of returning the call to your home network for voicemail.
I would recommend contacting your service provider who should be able to advise on how to divert all calls to voicemail before you travel.

  • I can call out but all incoming calls are going directly to VM with no signal that I missed a call or have VM. I can send/receive text messages from other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users, I am assuming this is really "iMessage." Is it apple software?

I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
Problems: Suddenly ALL  incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive)  other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem  solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before.  Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?

It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • Just Updated iPhone 3GS to iOS5, Can't receive any incoming calls at all

Hi, I just updated my phone to iOS5 and now, I'm having these troubles.
    - Can't receive any incoming calls at all
    - The incoming calls directly goes to voice mail greeting
    - No incoming rings & no missed calls alerts
    - Also noticed the incoming text with 4 to 5 hours delays
    - Sometimes 3G network get lost
The reception (status bar) is good level, can make outgoing calls okay and can send text okay.
I did try reset the network setting and it seems working a few hours then went back to troubles (mentioned above).
I've done 3 or 4 times reset but none have been resolved yet.
    Anyone having a same issues?
    I have
    iPhone 3GS with iOS5
    Network with O2 UK
    Thanks,

After reset "All network settings" a several times, it seems working but few hours later it 's been gone back to troubles again.
Is this related to iOS5 or O2?
I've contacted the network carrier several times but no-one yet get back to me.
    Any ideas, please helps.

  • How can I block all incoming international calls?

How can I block all incoming international calls?

Verizon does not value me as a customer because they would not assist me with getting the blocks done. The services Verizon offered, "Family Base" does not block what I and many, many, many, more verizon customers need.  The APP is working GREAT! In the 1st two days it blocked over 25 unwanted solicitations from India. It blocked "unknown", Private, 1234, 123456789566, 000-000-0000, and other 10 digit numbers! NOKIA has done a fabulous job with the developement of their APP. Verizon could block these calls but is not willing to do so and in the process try to sell me a product that wouldn't work.

  • All incoming calls divert to "Sorry, you can't lea...

    Help please!
I recently cancelled 1571. Since then all incoming calls divert immediately to a message saying: "Sorry, you can't leave a message at the moment" and then disconnect.
Everything else works fine (outgoing calls, broadband), and since the voice message sounds exactly like 1571 it seems pretty obvious that something went badly wrong with the 1571 cancellation.
I have had some lovely conversations with 151 and with the online chat people who have seem to have no idea how to fix the problem.
I see from the forum that this type of problem has been encountered before over several years and the only way to get it fixed appears to be to post on here and wait for the BT people who monitor them to spot it and come to my rescue.
So HELP! <waves flag> Here I am, please come and rescue my phone line from the 1571 gremlin.
    Dave

I just cannot believe I'M READING THESE POSTS AND THAT OUR EXPERIENCES HAVEN'T FED THEMSELVES BACK TO THE PEOPLE WHO MATTER AT BT. (Sorry hit caps lock!) I have had exactly the same experience as you all and I have been on the phone for hours trying to get the message through to the people on the end of 151 that the problem is obviousky with the 1571 system. I got to the point three days ago when there was a glimmer of hope that my word was being accepted about the problem. I was upgraded to speak tp a 'supervisor' or similar, who said that 1571 would be reconnected to see if people could then the get through again - beyond the scary message. Of course the moment it was reconnected the phone line was fine. He promised me that he would ring back yesterday to check the situation but I heard nothing. SO I got back onto 151 and had all the same discussions again. I asked why I had been promsied a return call - no explanation. Everything was clealry on notes on his computer but I had to go through the same questioning about answer machines at home etc etc. I suggested that the 1571 system was so complex that few people at BT have any clue that it is capable of giving the recorded message that we have all reported. He said he knew all the 1571 FACILITIES AND THAT NO SUCH MESSAGE CAN BE SWITCHED ON. (Hit it again sorry) I can't tell you how relieved I am to read your posts acknowledging the same experience. I am now waiting for 1571 to be switched off again to see what happens, and he has promised to ring me back on Monday afternoon at 2.00pm (5th January 2014). I also got a letter from BT welcoming me to the 1571 service and explaining that it will now cost me £1.75 per month - I've had it for years and the reason I want it turned off is to save the new charges. I fell totally exhausted with th whole affair. Happy New Year, and best regards.

  • Laserjet cm1415 will not stop showing "Incoming Call"

I have the fax setup in manual mode and it will not stop showing  "Incoming call" on the panel even thjough there is no call comming in. Other than that everything works well. Any body have any ideas on how to get it off of that so the printer can go into sleep mode?
    Thanks

The "Incoming Call" message is shown whenever we see a ring signal on the line, regardless of the fax receive mode.
If this message is showing up when no fax is being sent, then it means that there is noise on the phone line.  You can contact your phone company to discuss options in reducing the noise on your phone line.
If this message is showing up with no phone line plugged in, then the modem inside the printer is detecting noise.  It is possible that the internal fax parameters have become corrupt.  If that is the case, then you can perform a "Restore Defaults"  in order to reset them.  Note: doing this will erase all of your settings.  You can print out a configuration report before doing this so you can reset them.  A restore can be done at the control panel by pressing [Setup] on the main screen (the button with the wrench on it), then select "Service" and then "Restore Defaults."
This is based on my own experience with the product.

  • Help please...iphone5 when trying to make a call, after hitting green button to make call, screen goes straight back to keypad and all incoming calls go straight to voicemail, any ideas please? Everything else seems ok. No problem with sim or carrier

Hi...I have just obtained a secondhand iphone 5.  I'm not technically minded  and I don't understand 'geek speak' so please be gentle.  I have done all I can think of to bottom this problem. I have switched on and off.  Tried different o2 sims (including 2 brand new) that I know are fine, restored to factory settings, changed carrier from 'Auto' to O2 and spent ages on line with o2 chat but everything at their end is absolutely fine. Everything on the phone seems to be working apart from the phone aspect of things. All incoming calls go straight to voicemail and show on the phone as 'Cancelled calls' and when dialling out,  I can key in the numbers and get the keypad tone (not dialling tone) but as soon as I press the green key to make the call, all that happens is the keypad pops back up onto the screen. The phone was bought on ebay as an o2 phone (the photo showed Giffgaff on the phone's screen but I understand this to be one and the same?) and as being 6 months old but I have put the serial number into the support website and...surprise surprise..,it must be at least twice that age as the warranty has expired.  I have made 2 attempts to have a web chat with Apple Support,  have reached the 'You're all set, we'll be with you in 2 mins'  and have been left hanging there for over an hour on each occasion,  so I've given that up as a bad job!!  Any help will be much appreciated...and also, will Apple charge me £25 for each of the aborted chat attempts, please?  Over to you...hopefully and many thanks in anticipation.

My phone works all fine when am in mumbai but as soon s i leave mumbai I am not able to make an otgoing call
This is entirely a carrier issue.  If your carrier (airtel) doesn't provide service outside of Mumbia, this has nothing to do with your iPhone.
i feel i need to change my brand

  • Temp Workaround for Bug CSCun19415 - SPA 504G Transfer stopped by incoming calls

We have found that if you turn the CW Setting (User, Supplementary Services, CW Setting) to "No", then this provides a workaround for this issue. Obviously, there is a loss of functionality of the Call Waiting feature on all lines since this is a macro setting for the phone. However, until a bug fix for this issue (it is NOT an enhancement) comes out this does provide a good workaround. This also provides a workaround for the discussion on this support forum labeled "SPA 504G Transfer stopped by incoming calls".
    Bob Conner

At least in our case this is not a valid workaround, for we need our operator (only one person) to know how many calls are waiting.
I agree completely: it is a bug, and not an enhancement. The second incoming call interrupts and aborts the transfer process associated to the previous call. It is amazing that so many firmware upgrades has been released since this behaviour was detected, and it is still here unresolved.
My only workaround is using an old Linksys SPA942 (which works as expected) or another brand's model.
My need: A multi-line SIP terminal for an operator to distribute the calls. And, as bizarre as it may sound, this cannot be addressed with CISCO (at least with 50x series).

  • My galaxy s5 is rejecting all incoming calls

when people call me it says the user has blocked all incoming calls, or something like that. i have turned blocking mode off and i turned off call rejection for the call settings. i dont know what else to try

Hello scrpnsub, let's get to the bottom of this together! Can you dial *73 on the device and you will hear a few beeps. Hang up the call after the beeps and then test receiving a call. Are you able to make outbound calls? Keep us posted!

When I open Firefox, a lot of tabs try to open at the same time. They all say Problem loading the page. It happened after I tried to download a owners manual for Harley Davidson motor cycles. How can I stop all but one tab from opening.

This can be a problem with the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]

  • Nomorobo blocking all incoming calls

I set up Nomorobo last night.  Got the confirmation phone call.  After that, all incoming calls were blocked after the first ring.  I emalied Nomorobo and am waiting for their response. Anyone else have this experience?

I just installed Nomorobo yesterday as per the instructions given.  Everything appeared to be set up correctly and the test screen showed protected.  A couple of hours later I got a call with a short first ring then a second ring..then nothing.  So I assumed it was a robocall that was intercepted.  A few hours later another call came in..it, too, was intercepted.  It seemed odd that two calls coming in..both are robocalls..so I logged into Xfinity and saw that both calls went right to voice mail rather than ringing through so I could answer them at home.  Tried calling my home number with my cell and same thing...right to voice mail.  Sent a message to Nomorobo but no response as yet.  It seems the fault must be in the Call Forwarding preferences of Xfinity...but for now I've disconnected Nomorobo and calls from my cell go correctly to my home phone.  If anyone comes up with a solution please post it.It took a month for me to hear back from nomorobo support and then I got this when I told them all my calls were going to robo. I did have it set up correctly so still not sure why mine won't work and I undid everything so I am back to 'normal' for now.   It might be of some use to you.... "I'm sincerely sorry for the extreme delay here. From the information you've given me it sounds like the toll-free number (202-813-1600) we provided you is in your Call Forwarding list, not the Advanced Call Forwarding list, which means all your calls are being forwarded to Nomorobo. You should remove the number from that location and all incoming calls will no longer be blocked. If you don't see the Advanced Call Forwarding option, it's because Voice2Go isn't activated. I had a friend with the same problem, he had Do Not Disturb ON, you can see if yours is ON, if it is, turn it OFF.
