Can I stop downloading iOS 7 once it's been downloading  without problems?

Can I stop downloading safely ios7 update once I've started the downloading process ?

Let it go through the download, then it will Prepare the Update, but don't bother clicking Install Update and you will stay at your present system.  If you want to install later you can go back to Software Update and Install.

  • How can I stop my IOS 7 device from sharing my location with IOS 8 devices?

    How can I stop my IOS 7 device from sharing my location with IOS 8 devices? My friend who upgraded their device to IOS 8 said that I'm automatically sharing my location via iMessage details.  I don't want to upgrade to IOS 8 yet because I don't have space.  Is there a way to disable sharing my location with IOS 8 devices by default?  I don't want to turn all location services off because I frequently use Google Maps.

    Actually that's not true. I have a device (iPhone) running ios 7. My friend has an iphone running ios 8. When she clicked into her imessage thread with me, clicks on details in the top right corner it will show her my GPS location. It's doing this automatically because I do not have ios 8 on my phone therefore I don't have the ability to "stop sharing my location". Apple is automatically sharing the location.  If you are using an ios 8, apple automatically pulls in location data for anyone you are messaging not using ios 8. I haven't found a way around this unless you turn off all location services on your phone which is immensely disturbing.

  • Can  a stopped download be resumed?

    I stopped downloading photoshop when the library closed, i didnt shut the computer,
    can I resume later? clicking on the download gives "FILE CANT BE OPEN because it is being downloaded

    If you are downloading with a browser then you should be able to open the *Download Window* and resume. Look either under tools or window in the tool bar Menu across the top.
    There you can click to resume in the download window.

  • I can not stop download

    There is a website, when I visit there, Firefox (3.6 and version 4 both) starts downloading a file. Every time I have to cancel the download (.exe) file. I could not find any option in Firefox where I can disable download option.
    I remember in I.E. it is possible to disable download without user permission.
    Does it mean I also have to use I.E., along with FireFox. I think Firefox is missing this security feature, which is already built in IE.

    Well, nothing is working. Even all scripting is blocked with all sort of add-ons presented. This is not about the file downloaded because of some script running.
    Scoobi I did not ask you to explain how download works and what its options do. Thanks any way you tried.
    This is one thing, FireFox can not compete with I.E. I did not check the Chrome, though.

    whenever you download an adobe program that offers mcafee, untick the mcafee option.
    if you're updating the flash player, manually download and update so you can untick the mcafee option:  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up, probably by something that you installed. It shows that you have still have Firefox 3.6.17 installed. <br />
    [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent]
    type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter <br />
    ''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.'' <br />
    Filter = '''general.useragent.''' <br />
    Right-click the preferences that are '''bold''', one line at a time, and select '''''Reset'''''. <br />
    Then restart Firefox

  • Can't Stop Downloaded Apps From Going  To Dmg.Txt

    Hello, My name is CarlosM101 and i am a design major in school. i have recently converted from Pc to mac..and im having a major problem..
    i have been trying to download a file decompression program, and when it begins to download..it goes to Dmg.Txt...so when its done..all i get is a bunch of jibberish on a textedit thing...and im so confused and have no idea how to go about changing it..all help is very much appreciated
    thank you

    CarlosM101,
    You might try renaming the downloaded file by deleting the .txt portion, leaving .dmg as the sole extension. Do this by highlighting the file, and from the File menu select Get Info (or press Command + I). Make the change under the Name & Extension triangle in the Info window that pops up. Alternately, you could highlight the file and then hit your Return key so that the name of the file becomes editable.
    Once the .txt extension is removed you should see an alert asking if you're sure you want to change the extension from .txt to .dmg. Go ahead and click on the "Use .dmg" button. And then try double-clicking on the download to see if the disk image volume mounts.
    On the rare occasions when I've had a similar experience, this is what I've done and it has worked for me...
    Good luck!

  • Can we stop a collection evaluation once it is started?

    Hi Guys,
     Is there an option to cancel the collection evaluation once that is started?
    Thanks,
     Delphin.
    Kindly mark as answer/Vote as helpful if a reply from anybody helped you in this forum. Delphin

    Could it be that a specific collection is jamming the other evaluations? In that case have a look here to remove it from the queue:

  • How can I stop the iOs 6 - iOS 7 update on iPhone 4 when I've already started it?

    Started an update on my iPhone 4 but I figured out after making that decision that I'd rather stay on iOs 6. What do I do now? If I connect my phone to wifi, it resumes the update automatically. I don't want the iOs 7 as most of the features don't work on my phone. Please help!

    Because mass delete does not work anymore,
    "Mass delete" still works in the Trash folder and has NEVER been available in any version of the iOS for the Inbox or any other mail folder.
    I tried to use imap ( does not work ).
    Not clear what you mean by that, but IMAP mail works the same way as iOS 1 - 6.

  • Can you stop an article update once it's started?

    Hi,
    I've been updating the Properties on a number of Articles, and being a bit tired, I've accidentally selected the Update link rather than the Properties link. One of the articles has a video in it and rather than upload it again I just wanted to stop the update rather than have to sit through the whole upload. Unfortunately I couldn't find any way to stop it.
    Does anyone have any suggestions other than the obvious ones of "more coffee" or "go to bed" :-)
    Tony

    not currently
    It's a feature on the backlog.

  • Stop image from loading once it has been requested.

    I am working on an applet for viewing information on maps. I load a background map and then data is displayed over the map. The map loads in tiles, as the user drags the map additional tiles are loaded in the new location. The user can also zoom in to get a closer view.
    Problem is, I start loading tiles as soon as the view changes. If the user clicks several times quickly, or does several quick drags, I end up starting several images that immediately become obsolete.
    I know I have phantom images loading because the connection slows to a crawl in this situation. I have tried...
    myImage.flush();
    myImage=null;
    But that is not working.
    Is there any way to kill the download of an image once it has started?

    Here is my idea{
    Maybe you coudl put it in a try catch block, have a boolean unwanted image, and then throw an IOException when its true? I think that would stop it, and then set the image to false:
    try{
        if(unwantedImage) throw new IOException:
        //load Image
    } catch (IOException e){
         return;  //this should stop loading, if the IOException doesn't
       }That is all I can think of.

  • I have a Power MAC G5 dual 2ghz that has a peculiar problem.  The monitor will not report until the machine is stopped and started 5 or 6 times.  Once booted it will restart without problem if done so from the apple menu.  Swapped out all hardware

    My Power MAC G5 has a peculiar problem.  The monitor fails to report until the machine is started and shut down 5 or 6 times.  Once it has booted it can be restarted without incident from the Apple menu.  I have swapped out all of the hardware.  Monitor, Memmory,Video Card and reset the PRAM.  After resetting the PRAM it booted on the first attempt and I thought it was solved.  But the next day it was back to starting and stopping until the Monitor came on.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  Thanks

    It could be a bad PRAM battery corrupting your PRAM.  Typically when I have monitor issues on startup it is a bad PRAM battery.

    If you have a digital multimeter you can check the condition of your present battery.  It should read at least 3.2V if it is the 3.6V half-AA battery type.  A new battery provides 3.67 Volts DC. A bad battery provides under 3.2 Volts DC.  Ideally this should be measured while the battery is under load; added recommendation from Hans777:
    >I have recently found out that an exhausted battery will still indicate >3.6 V with a high internal resistance VM.
    >
    >Checking incircuit: powercord disconnected press PMU reset button for >about 5 sec before measuring.
    >
    >Checking outside: load the battery with a 1500 Ohm resistor when measuring.
    Alternatively, test the battery while it is still in the computer.
    If the battery is more than 5 years old, especially if you totally disconnect the computer from the power regularly, or have left it unplugged for several months at one time, it is likely the battery is dead.
    Sometimes you have to do a more intensive reset of hardware management:
