Can I stop iTunes from scrolling to the song that is playing?

I'm doing some manual cleanup in iTunes while listening to music on iTunes. Every time a song ends, iTunes scrolls back to whatever the next song is. Is there any way to keep it from doing that?

The only work around I know is open a separate window for a playlist an play that, then you can work on the library in the main window without the scrolling problem.

How can i stop iTunes from auto rating my songs in my library?? I have my library very organized and 90% of the time when i listen to music i play "My Top Rated" Playlist on shuffle. The only time i give stars ratings to my songs is for my favourite songs which i give 5 star and every other song is just left with no stars. For some reason iTunes is giving songs i have never played or i dont like 5 Stars and rewining my playlists. I have tried erasing all the stars from my entire library and since doing this a week ago, again (for the 4th time in a year) having a library with not 1 song with any star ratings, all of a sudden i now have 329 random songs with 5 stars again??????
This is really getting to me as i love my music and love iTunes and everything apple but seriously there has to be away to stop this so i can have my old playlists back!

One reason itunes will start "at regular intervals" will be if you have an iphone that has sync via wifi enabled. I had the problem following an upgrade to iOS 5.

I usually end up deleting a bunch of songs, but iTunes is automatically importing/adding the songs I download which then creates a lot of missing file links. How do I stop iTunes from doing that, I just want to be able to add them manually by folders.

I'm having a similar problem.
When I download songs via my MobileMe "iDisk" webpage, it will automatically end up in iTunes and starts playing. I set up my iDisk settings to place my downloads on my desktop, which it does, just fine.
Nonetheless iTunes ALWAYS wanting to be part of it, is really annoying.
I just DON'T want iTunes to start up, just because a download finished. I add songs manually myself when I want it.

This is really bugging me to no end.
I like to add my change song titles and genres for my songs. The problem is once I hit the "enter" button or click elsewhere within the iTunes application to finalize my changes, horrible things happen. Itunes will scroll to a random location and make me look at a different song.
I would be scrolled down to the bottom of a window of my smart playlist editing song 601, I edit, hit enter or click somewhere else, then the itunes window suddenly jumps up to song 23. The blue focus highlight is still on song 601 and I need only to press up/down on my keyboard to look at song 600 or 602. This puts me back close to my original spot. Either that or I scroll from song 23 to song 601, but that is annoying.
This is very irrational behavior and it occurs 80% of the time when I edit things. I mostly edit song titles, genre, and the shows column.

My post only applies when editing songs DIRECTLY from the iTunes window. That means you click on the song, wait, then click on it again. Sorta like renaming files on mac or windows computer. I am NOT talking about the separate metadata window that opens up when you right click a song and select "get info" or, alternatively, by selecting a song and pressing ctrl-i or cmd-i.

Itunes will scroll to a random location and make me look at a different song on my playlist, same playlist though. And it can be a smart playlist, my entrie library, or a keyword search of some songs I am viewing.
In terms of randomness, iTunes will jump, to the top of my smart playlist after I finished editing song No. 601, I edit, hit enter or click somewhere else, then the itunes window suddenly jumps up to song 23, but does not select it. erict, you blew me away with that suggestion! It was something so simple I couldnt believe I hadnt thought of it! But in the end it didn't work, which I was really surprised about. On Windows anytime anything was moved itunes was hoplessly lost, but on this mac it still kept up with everything. I tried renaming folders, moving folders, and even renaming moved folders but it still kept trying to import.
I even went as far as deleting EVERYTHING i had moved to the Mac, which didnt really work. It still kept trying to import what wasnt there which made it continue to freeze up. However, after doing this it, the freezing was not nearly as bad. It gave me enough of a break to cancel it through the itunes dialog box at the top of the app. So in the end, thats all I really needed to do, only before I had deleted everything the freezing would not allow me to do it.
So now Im reimporting everything again, only slowly, and only a few Artists at a time.

Uncheck wifi Sync.
Connect your Device to Computer. Select your iPad under "Devices" on the left Pane. On the right Pane, under the Summary tab, scroll down to uncheck "Sync this iPad over WIFI". Then click the APPLY button on the lower right Window.

How can I stop iTunes from transferring purchased apps from iPad to my computer? I don't want them taking up space on my computer. iPad backups and apps on the cloud are enough to ensure my apps are backed up, so I don't understand why they need to be on iTunes too. I'm running Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.5 and iOS 7.0.6.

There isn't an app for that!
As far as I can tell there is no option to give you that control. It is worth noting that apps can be withdrawn from the store at any time. Should your device need restoring you need all the apps in your library to transfer to it before the app data can be successfully restored. Pulling that all down from the cloud would be time consuming.
If space is becoming an issue you should consider moving the library to a bigger drive (which you should also backup to another).
As a temporary measure you could try deleting some larger apps using Finder from within iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications while keeping the entries in your library. iTunes may complain during syncs that it cannot copy apps to the device because they cannot be found, but it should not clear them from the device. Test first on a single app that doesn't have any data that you would mind losing in case the behavior has changed from the last time I tested it.

Thanks for the help, but i've actually done that before.
It does not help, because it only shows the photos on the camera roll and do not show the photos synchronized with that pc that i dont have access anymore.
The photos/albums all appear on the ipad, i can see it without problems but i cant get them out of the ipad to save onto pc for backup.
And i reaaly need it, as it is the only place that i actually have these photos now...

Right now, I can't transfer songs from my laptop to my iPhone unless I turn off iTunes Match 1st. Once the songs are on there, I turn iTunes Match back on, but then the songs that I just transferred over dissapear...

I'm having the same problem, some of my songs will transfer but not all of them. It seems there are alot of people having this problem and apparently Apple doesn't know how to fix it. All my songs were purchased through itunes so they all should upload to any apple device. Sorry I'm not any help, maybe Apple can finally do something about it.

My Motorola S9-HD bluetooth headphones sound choppy and sometimes change the pitch of the song that I play on my MacBook Pro, how can I solve this?

I have been using this on my iPod touch and my iPod Classic and they have worked fine without any of these problems. But when I connected it to my Mac it took a couple of trys to play it and now it sounds choppy eve though I sit right beside it, it also like i said above changes the pitch of the songs that i play.

I'd assumed it was a problem with the location in my pocket. I can have it on my desk at work and walk into anotehr room 30 or 40ft away with no problems with my headphones so it does seem odd it can't cope with going through my body at 2 to 3ft.

I think it is just a bug, but it in very frustrating. I was using just now for about an hour and suddenly the correct artwork appeared for what was playing....but then all went wrong again!!
Apple, please, please issue a patch for this. It surely cannot be too complicated to correct.
