If you are using a Windows OS
Open CS5 and go Help > Deactivate.
Then Control Panel > Programs and features > select CS5 and uninstall.
Or just leave it there. Make sure you have sorted any third party plugins from CS5, although the uninstall should leave them intact.

I purchased the student photoshop about a year and half ago and have been using it faithfully since. I run a photography business so photoshop is vital. My computer recently crashed, hard drive is done for and everything. They said there's no way to fix it and I did not back it up on anything... My question is: Can I re-download this program onto a new computer?
My second question would be, How many times? I do not have the funds at the moment to buy a good, permanent computer, so I am using a loaner and plan to use it for a couple months. Like I said, I need Photoshop badly for my business, so I would like to download it onto this loaner in the mean time. BUT I would obviously then need it on my permanent computer when I can afford it. Is there ANY way to do this? I swear I am not going to put it on different computers all at one time. If there is any way to prove this, I will.

But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.
A retail version of the software can be used on 2 computers as per Adobe's End User License Agreement (EULA).
You can go ahead and use it on the loner computer till you buy yourself a new one.
Before installing the software on the new computer you need to 'Deactivate' the software from the loner pc by going to the 'Help' menu within Photoshop CS6 menu and select 'Deactivate'. If you don't deactivate the software then it will increase the activation count of the license and you will not be able to install it on other machine without deactivating the previous copy first.

All major versions of Adobe software install into their own folders on your hard drive. So you can always use earlier versions at any time.
It's just best not to use them at the same time due to shared files etc.
Many people have several versions installed and available at a mouseclick e.g. CS1, CS2, CS3, CS4 ... through to CC 2014 and everything in between.

I hope someone can help me as am at a loss on what is wrong. Trying to connect my iphone to computer to sync but all it does when I connect it is crash the system completely. Black screen with writing which doesn't stay on long enough for me to read what to do! Its a 3G iphone and had no problems on my old computer. When you connect a new computer to your network the DHCP service of your router will assign it an IP address, which may or may not be the same as the IP address assigned to your old computer. This, however, only effects networking and wouldn't have anything to do with a USB connection. You do need to be running Windows XP SP2 or later (XP SP3 for iTunes 10.6) and your USB ports must be USB 2.0 to support the iPhone 3G so you may want to be sure your computer meets these minimum system requirements. You might also want to try:
Using a different USB to dock connector cable
Connecting to a different USB port on your computer
Gently cleaning the dock connector on the bottom of the phone with a dry toothbrush
Ensuring that your case isn't interferring with the cable connection to the dock connector on the bottom of your phone

I tried to send photos which didn't go to recipient, but it is to try to send it and I am getting 200 recovered messages. I can't stop the process even after rebooting.

I tried to send photos on aol through mac mail. The email did not sent, but I keep getting recovered messages despite rebooting. I don't know how to stop it.

An AOL account is normally set up as an IMAP account -- have you been using it in Mail? If not, open Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced and choose such that copies of messages and their attachments are not kept. I am suggesting this as you may be downloading previous messages upon connection.

You can open any Adobe application and then "Deactivate" it from the Help Menu option , once yuou deactivate you can re-use the serial number.
