in imovie hd, i can stop recording (with my mackbook) and go back and edit something out. but in imovie 08 and 09 i MUST WAIT till thumbnails have finished generating which can take long time. and i must have person i am interviewing wait and twiddle thumbs until imovie 08 is finished. can i stop thumbnails from generating until i am finished filming? what i have been doing is filming in imovie hd and exporting to 08.

Correction: what I meant to say is that you cannot stop thumbnail generation.
Depending on what camera you are using you can be selective in what you import.
For example, if you use an AVCHD camera, you can switch to Manual import, deselecting all clips, and selecting only those you want to import, after viewing them in the preview capture window.

You do not need to move your cursor much when pressing the mouse button to cause the tab to tear-off/tear-away into a new tab. No "sensitivity" setting that I am aware of. The tab in the new window can be dragged back to the original window.

I had Opera set as my default browser since this began happening. I changed my default browser back to Firefox mainly because having Firefox open one or two seconds every time I open Opera was/is such a nuisance.
I believe this problem began because I attempted to manually transfer the files from my old computer to the new one (via the backed up files in my external drive). I was unfamiliar with Windows 7 when I did this. Microsoft changed the file set up from what I had been used to in Windows XP. I used XP for six years before being exposed to Windows 7 (I never had Vista).
I'm almost sure this problem has something to do with where I placed the application data when I was trying to reestablish the program set up on the new computer.

You can share the same Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: here
But for all other Apple services like:
FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc, one of you should use a different Apple ID.

Yes, under the Settings for the store, you can turn off the auto download for purchases, that way if you purchase an app on another device it will not automatically download on that device. You would need to do this on both your iPad and iPhone.

If you ned more room for storage buy a bigger drive. In fact buy two, one to use as a backup for your library and all your other important files.

How can i stop iTunes from auto rating my songs in my library?? I have my library very organized and 90% of the time when i listen to music i play "My Top Rated" Playlist on shuffle. The only time i give stars ratings to my songs is for my favourite songs which i give 5 star and every other song is just left with no stars. For some reason iTunes is giving songs i have never played or i dont like 5 Stars and rewining my playlists. I have tried erasing all the stars from my entire library and since doing this a week ago, again (for the 4th time in a year) having a library with not 1 song with any star ratings, all of a sudden i now have 329 random songs with 5 stars again??????
This is really getting to me as i love my music and love iTunes and everything apple but seriously there has to be away to stop this so i can have my old playlists back!

One reason itunes will start "at regular intervals" will be if you have an iphone that has sync via wifi enabled. I had the problem following an upgrade to iOS 5.
