Can I stop two-finger scroll from stopping playback in 3?

Does anyone know if it's possible for Soundtrack 3 NOT to stop playback whenever a two-finger scroll occurs, no matter how miniscule?
I'm afraid my habit of editing, developed under Soundtrack 2, involves almost constant two-finger scrolling. Making matters worse, I'm still adjusting to the no-button track pad on my new MacBook Pro, so I sometime leave my thumb where the button was on my old machine. Even a little move that doesn't even reposition the window stops playback. I actually thought that playback was randomly stopping, so I restarted twice before I realized what was happening.

Same problem here.
Also, when horizontal scrolling with two fingers, the slightest inclination of the gesture up or down starts zooming in or out while moving. SInce zoom centers on the playhead, it keeps jumping back there at the same time. Very frustrating.
It is so bad that the interface feels better when I set scroll wheel to "Scrolls window content" in prefs. The drawback is that this makes my USB mouse's conventional scroll wheel do nothing, unless I am holding shift for horiz. scroll. And it still does not solve the problem that playback stops on any 2-finger scroll, even in the now disabled up-down direction.

  • Magic Trackpad - 2 finger scrolling has stopped working in Mac Mail - works in Safari

    Hi,
I've been happily using a Magic Trackpad for a couple of years but just recently the two finger scrolling has stopped working in Mac Mail. It still works fine in other apps eg Safari so this seems like a very odd problem ie I can't imagine you can configure it to work in one app and not another! Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Rob

Thank you merleau.  I had the very same problem and found your solution perfect. This helped me tremedously.

  • Satellite C50-B-14D - Two finger scroll is not working

I have had my laptop for about 6 months now and am generally happy with it. However, the two finger scroll has stopped working (it was working fine when I got it and for a while after). I know it's not essential, but it makes such a difference for the work I end up having to do, which often involves copying and pasting etc, and I really miss it!
I've read many threads saying that you should go to Control Panel, click on Mouse and go to device settings. However when I get to that point, my Mouse box just says "buttons; pointers; pointer options; hardware" and there is no "device settings" panel along the top. What can I do? I also can't find the synaptics driver anywhere to uninstall it, as some other people have suggested.

Obviously this additional touchpad feature isn’t available because the touchpad driver isn’t installed.
I recommend you to visit the Toshiba EU driver page and to download the touchpad driver for this notebook model.
I’m not quite sure what touchpad module this notebook supports (Synaptics or ELAN) but I think you could try to check both drivers.
If one would not work, check the other one…
After that you should see the additional tab within control panel -> mouse

  • T430s: Old mouse drivers? (two-finger scroll broken)

    Hi all,
I just used the lenovo update manager to update my mouse driver to version 16.2.19.2 (latest) for my T430s with Win 7. Previously I had been using the two-finger scroll all the time and have really been enjoying this feature. However, the new driver has been giving me some unwanted behavior - instead of scrolling only on two fingers, now it scrolls with one finger about half the time.
I've double checked that I'm not accidentally touching the pad with another finger. I one-finger edge scrolling disabled, as I have found this unreliable anyway. I can get back to reliable one-finger movement by un-checking the two-finger scroll from the advanced ultra-nav options in mouse settings. However, re-enabling this still gives the unwanted one finger scrolling for a touch anywhere on the pad.
So unless anyone has any better ideas, I'd figure I would roll back to the older driver. Unfortunately, the lenovo update manager has no history of the old driver, nor does windows device manager. And the driver listed on the lenovo site here, is the same version as the one I'm currently running. So.... anyone have the link to the old driver or any other ideas?
    Thanks!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Okay, I've tried multiple un-install / re-install cycles. I've removed the ultra-nav and synaptics files after uninstalling the driver from device manager and add-remove programs (you have to do both it seems). And a fresh re-install of both, together and individually.
    The problem still persists.
After checking with other solutions on the forums, I gave a third-party program "two-finger scroll" a try (http://code.google.com/p/two-finger-scroll/) and it is working much better. I can't devote any more time to this problem, and this solution seems to be excellent.

  • Two-Finger Scrolling Stopped Working

After updating to 10.5.6, my two-finger scrolling stopped working; everything else seems to be fine. What can I do to get it working again?

Same thing happened to me today. I've had the 10.5.6 update installed for a week and have restarted my system several times since then, and experienced no problems until now. Today was the first day I powered my system down completely (rather than just restarting) and now my trackpad is wonky.
I can use the trackpad like normal with one finger, and two-finger vertical scrolling works as long as I'm inside an application. I can also use two fingers to right-click. I just can't use two fingers to scroll in any direction besides up or down, and I can only scroll if I'm in an application or window that requires scrolling.
Inside my Trackpad preferences panel in System Prefs, there's a checkbox for "Secondary Tap" under "Two Fingers." The other options ("Scroll," "Rotate," etc.) appear but there is no checkbox next to them. There isn't a checkbox for "Swipe to Navigate" under "Three Fingers" either.
I will call Apple support and see what I can find out.

  • Two finger scrolling does not work ONLY on Firefox

This just started today, suddenly my two finger scrolling doesn't work but only when I'm in Firefox, offline and on Safari and Chrome it's fine. Restarting Firefox only fixes it for a few minutes, then it stops working again. All of the suggestions I've found that I've tried haven't worked, please if anyone could help and also break it down fairly easily, I'd really appreciate it.

The same issue happens on Firefox 35.0 running in safe mode, Mavericks 10.9.5, both with Magic Mouse and normal standard mouse...
It's unbeliaveble this issue is going on since more than one year ago, I can find people complaining about it since December 2013!
Oh, one more thing: I don't have a two finger swipe configuration, I have single finger swipe, so the actual problem is about scrolling the page in itself (considering I've tested it with a normal standard mouse as well....).

  • Synaptics Pointing Device two finger scrolling randomly fails in Firefox 4 RC

I have an HP Envy laptop with a multitouch pad that uses two-finger scrolling gestures. In Firefox 4 RC, this gesture stops working from time to time. I do not believe the touchpad drivers are at fault, since gestures continue to work in other applications and I have restarted the device to no avail. Restarting firefox clears the problem. I did not have this problem in Firefox 3.6.x.

    Partial Solution!
I have determined the cause of this problem (though I can't be sure it is the only cause of the problem.) If there is a .pdf file open in any tab, two finger scrolling stops working except for that tab. Closing the tab also solves the problem.
However, this just means that I have a more specific bug to report, then, that the scrolling gestures do not function properly when a .pdf is open (with Acrobat viewer) in any tab.

  • Two finger scroll ... shimmer

    Hi
When using two finger scrolling does anyone experience a shimmering from the fine lines surrounding each message and from the light text in the post area.
I find it annoying in an otherwise perfectly running MacBook.
I don't see it in Firefox but I prefer Safari.
    Just curious

    Hi Hawaiian_Starman
Thanks for the reply and as for the weather we are a way up to +5 c today.
There is no hint of shimmer on either my old Imac or Clamshell using the scrollbar. I stopped into the store where I purchased the Core Duo. They now have a Core 2 set up and the shimmer was even a little more pronounced than on mine. He was able to lessen it somewhat with the brightness control so as you suggest. I'll play with the adjustment on mine but still going from
300MHz and 288MB of ram to on the IBook to 1.8 GHz and 2GB on the MacBook it somehow seems backwards.
    Thanks again

  • Two finger scrolling while dragging files in finder

    Hi guys.
I'm new to this forum but have used it in the past so I'll start by saying thank you for all the people who post on here.
Now for my query, and this one is driving me nuts because it seems like such a simple thing that is either missing or I can't figure out how to use for the life of me.
I know while dragging files in finder when you take them near to the bottom or top of the window it will scroll up or down. The problem is the area on which you have to move you mouse is about 5 mm big and if you go too far it stops scrolling etc. It's very clumsy. It amazed me that while dragging a file I could not still two-finger scroll, which would mean that you could control the speed. It would also be a lot more efficient.
I have searched countless forums and through google but cannot find an answer. If anyone can tell me how to two-finger scroll while dragging files please help me?! Or if there are any plug-ins that have more customisability that could allow it.
Thanks in advance for you help!

It is not possible to two-finger scroll while dragging.

  • Two finger scroll down not working on touchpad

    Hi,
The two finger scroll function on the touchpad is not working.
The driver is updated as well.
Overall the touchpad seems unresponsive as well. It gets stuck and cursor stops moving. It is the only thing that I am not happy with regarding the spectre x360.
    Can you please help.
    Thanks

    Hello @ukx360 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Spectre x360 Notebook and mouse freezing. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot the mouse and Touchpad sensitivities.
If you will go to the section on Adjusting TouchPad, you will see a restore defaults button. If you select that it will restore the original settings.
    Hope this fixes things up.
    Thanks.

  • Problem with two finger scrolling on s440

    Hello everyone
I have a S440 (touch version) and some Problems with two finger scrolling on the touchpad.
First, it isn't smooth, i.e.. If I move my fingers it only starts scrolling after a second or so, basically when I've already stopped (unless I move very slow). It then makes up for the lost time by scrolling very fast.
The more serious problem (that makes it practically unusable) is that it randomly jumps back up, often to the top of the page/document, sometimes just a page or so.
The problems are worst with firefox and acrobat, with IE and the Microsoft reader there's no response time problem but the jumping upwards still occurs.
The problem is there with the preinstalled Windows 8 as well as my own Windows 8 Pro (with the original Lenovo drivers). Scrolling with the Trackpoint and an external mouse work fine, as well as scrolling via the touchscreen.
Does anyone have any suggestion if/how I can fix this?

I also have a S440 (non-touch screen), the scrolling on the touchpad worked perfectly when I bought it, no jumping, and scrolling perfectly smoothly comparable to an Mac. But after an upgrade to windows 8.1 which broke many things ( despite upgrading all drivers), I reset my thinkpad which brought it back to windows 8, everything working normally again except the two finger scrolling which is no longer smooth (moves incrementally now), and likes to jump randomly up or down the page, (not always, but enough to make it irritating. I notice this mostly with google chrome and adobe reader as these are the apps I use most frequently.
So my questions is what drivers or settings do I need to bring the scrolling back to the configuration it was when I purchased my S440? My device manager says I'm running thinkpad ultranav with Synaptics driver version 16.6.4.38
    Cheers,
    Paul

  • Why doesn't two-finger scrolling work for me with Yosemite?

MacBook Pro from 2010, upgraded to Yosemite and now none of my two-finger scrolling works with the Trackpad. Doesn't work on any application - Chrome, Safari, Word, anything. It's super annoying. Tried messing around with Trackpad options in system preferences, didn't help.

    Hi thekidcanada,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that this type of situation can be very frustrating. One troubleshooting step I would recommend would be to reset the PRAM on your computer. I know the article is written for Mavericks but the steps will be the same for Yosemite.

  • Two finger scroll problem in Preview

When viewing a pdf with over 200 pages in Preview, for example a pdf book, two fringer scroll stops functioning periodically. In order to get it working again you have to click on the destop and then click back onto preview to get two finger scroll to work agian. Is this a limitation of the Preview app? This does not seem to be a problem with smaller pdfs.
