Can i stop vibration when plugged into power source?

Hi Folks,
First time poster,
my wife is heavily pregnant and has been going to bed about 7pm, everytime I sneak into bed later on the night and plug my Iphone 4s into power to charge in DnD mode it vibrates and wakes her, she is getting really annoyed with this now and suggests I get an Andriod phone like the one she owns which does not do this.
How Can I stop the viration when I plug the phone into power? I do not wish to hack or cannibalise my Iphone.  I need my phone next to the bed as I use it as my alarm clock and for emergencies.
thanks
J

If you don't mute the phone using the mute switch on the side, it will not vibrate plugging it into the charger or dock. But it will make a short sound instead.

My iPhone won't stop vibrating when plugged into my Macbook.  All software is up to date.  iTunes just gives me an error.  No problems when plugged into a PC.  Why the nonstop vibrating!?

When I connect it to my iMac (with up-to-date OS X Yosemite 10.9.5) - it doesn't work.
Specifically - iTunes automatically launches, but then quickly shows a dialog window that says, "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone. This device is no longer connected."
Meanwhile - on my iPhone - in the upper right-hand corner (where the battery life is displayed) - you can see the "plugged in" icon (lightening bolt) rapidly blinking on and off.
In other words - it seems like, when it's plugged in - it's rapidly connecting and disconnecting (several times per second).
If I click "OK" on that dialog window on iTunes - it instantly pops back up, and continues to do so as long as I keep the iPhone plugged in.
I have tried all and stile did not resolve my problem. I tried to restart both devices, try different cable (I have original cable). Both devices are new and software's are update it on latest versions.
Thanks in advance for any help!

  • My iphone 5 won't turn on but when plugged into power source it keeps showing apple logo?

My iPhone 5 won't turn on at all and then when I plug it into a power source either into a plug socket or into my laptop with the USB cable it keeps showing start up screen with apple logo over and over again on a loop.
I have tried holding the top and front button together, this didn't work. I have also tried connecting to my laptop and following the reboot steps that I found on another discussion forum. Neither worked for me. The phone just won't reboot and it keeps continuing to loop the apple logo screen over and over without me touching anything.
The iPhone won't even connect to itunes and so itunes seems to not recognise my phone because its not even turning on (just continually apple logo screen appears for 5 seconds, goes to black screen and then repeats).
I don't know what is happening to it! Can anyone help? Is it a fault with the hardware or have I dont something to it? The next appointment at the genius bar for me is monday so I'm going to keep looking for any more recent ones until then but I really need to get it sorted before then so if anyone can help that would be great!
    Thanks

Try a reset when your iPhone is plugged into the charger as you say it does not respond when not plugged in...
Press and hold the Home and On/Off buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo, then release.  This may take up to 10 seconds.  This is the equivalent of a re-boot and you will not lose any data.
See if it will charge after this.

  • HT4623 I have my Ipad plugged into power source; however, it displays a power cord and ITunes image.  Is something wrong?

My Ipad is plugged into power source and after requesting lastest software update it just shows a powercord and ITunes icon.  Is something wrong?  I already updated to the lastest IOS upgrade.

  • Low vibration when plugged into a 220v outlet

Has anyone ever experienced a low vibration coming from their macbook pro when plugged into/ charging from a 220v source?

I noticed that, if my MB is charging whilst plugged into a 4-way adaptor plug (along with other things), such as a lamp, my mobile phone and a heated blanket, this causes the mild vibration on my MB case. I then discovered that unplugging the heated blanket from the 4-way adaptor causes the vibration to instantly stop. Leaving the phone charging and the lamp turned on appears to have no effect on the vibration at all.
So, if you're charging/operating other things/devices from the same adaptor (power source) as you're charging your MB from, then try unplugging these and just leaving the MB to charge form this power source on its own... see if that makes any difference.
It stopped the vibration for me anyway.

  • Buzz from USB microphones when plugged into power

My Macbook Pro causes a buzz to appear in video voiceovers when I use my USB headset while the Macbook Pro is plugged to power.
If I unplug the power adapter then there is no buzz.
I am quite concerned there is a short in the circuitry of the MBP as I have never had this problem on my old MP or on my MacPro.
Has anyone had any experience with this?

Hi Fastman: Sorry, maybe Duck Head is a local terminology for the plug part that is attached to the power adaptor. It may be set up differently in Australia. Our power adaptors in Canada, and I believe in the US as well, also include an extension cable with 3 contacts. The 3rd contact provides a ground.

  • Is there a way to keep the display on when plugged into power?

My Nexus had this option....but I don't see it on the Note 3.  At this point, I'm not having any issues, I have the display on the brightest, live wallpapers, gps, Bluetooth.....just about everything turned on, and it's sooooo much more efficient than my Nexus....I couldn't go anywhere w/o an external battery pack.  Over night, w/o power, I'd wake up w/ the Nexus at 60-70%....now w/ the note 3 it might be 96%....it's great...now I don't walk around looking like a suicide bomber w/ wires from phone to external battery....but I WOULD like the Note 3 to stay alert when it's plugged in to power.

ok you asked, here they are, I took it off the tab display because where your "more" was displayed, mine has "general"

  • Firefox freezes, must be restarted when acer laptop unplugged/plugged into power source

I have an Acer 3820 that has been pretty solid. Lately, though, every time I plug in or unplug my laptop while using Firefox, the screen freezes, and changing tabs changes which 'tab' is on top, but the content is still the same as the one that it was changed from. I have to close firefox, which brings up the box warning me about closing several tabs - this box is, however, completely black. Upon restarting the program, everything is fine until the next time I plug in/unplug. All my drivers are up to date, as is Firefox, and all of the add-ons I have have been on my Firefox for long before this problem started occurring.

You'll need to stop restoring and backing up your phones. The best way to literally start from a new baseband software is to create a new user account on your computer. Here are the instructions:
    1. Setup new user on computer (make sure your contact data and basic information is backed up in applications like Address book and Mail)
    2. open itunes (without iphone plugged in)
    3. Shut down iphone
    4. Hold the home button (while off), then plug it in. Continue holding the home button until it turns on and appears in"recovery mode" in the itunes application
    5. Release home button and resync basic data such as contacts and mail accounts
    6. Test the phone after doing this to see if the data is properly synced and the phone works well so far
    7. proceed to syncing all your music and apps
    WARNING:
Fixing the phone this way will fix the freezing problem, but will not perserve temporary or saved data from your phone such as game account information, scores, notes, text message archives, etc. The most likely cause for the freezing is a discrepancy between the backed up data and the restored (IOS 4.0) software. Setting the phone up as a new iphone without restoring it from any backups is the best way to solve this problem AND operate iOS 4.

  • Can't Use iPhone when Plugged into certain USB Charger

The screen becomes completely unresponsive: cant slide the 'unlock' button; it behaves really weirdly, erratically. Same with scrolling and choosing podcasts. The behaviour is just weird. This is with a UK 'triangular' USB charger. The cheaper 'egg-shaped' chargers (with the red LED on them) show no such problem. Anyone know what's going on?

Sounds like a damaged device, take it to Apple for evaluation.
If it's under warranty, they will replace it.
If it's not under warranty, an Out of Warranty replacement is $149US.

  • Won't power on unless plugged into power source

Once it's plugged in, the cord is green and works fine, but if I unplug the cable to charge my MacBook shuts off.

    Try resetting the SMC.

  • Prob when plugging into computer.

ok, i plug my pod into my computer, and i get the disconnect sign, but it beeps like three times, then it gives me the charging sign, except its frozen, you knw when you plug your ipod in to charge it, it gives you the animated figure, well same thing except frozen. my ipod is not shown on itunes, therefore my ipod is not being reed by itunes. after 3mins or so, the frozen battery goes back to the do not disconnect, and Then it takes the ipod onto itunes. Is there a way to stop this frozen battery wasting my time? i know how this started, its a long story, but i cant get rid of it!!! tanks, cllassic
by da way... i also have a problem with norton, itunes, and my internet combining. ill proly start a new post

I think I am having the same problem as you. When I plug my fully charged ipod mini into the computer it beeps 3 times then says "no battery power remains plug into power source" then it turns off and then says something about never unplugging my ipod without ejecting first but I didn't unplug the stupid thing in the first place. The same exact thing started happening to my husbands ipod shuffle on the same day. Somebody please help!!!!!! Oh, the battery also seems to be draining a lot faster than usual like in 30-40 minutes from being fully charged. This thing is a peice of crap and it's not the first problem I've had with it.

    Hello cass528,
I would be concerned too if my MacBook Air would not power on.  I recommend following the steps in this article when experiencing an issue like this:

  • How can I stop the display dimming when plugged into a powersupply. Cannot read playlist in car using music player.

My new ipod seems to dim after a short time, even when plugged into a power supply, unlike my previous ipod, which used to stay illuminated
when plugged into the car stereo and external power
Now in order to see the playlist I have to swipe or touch the home button, using the music player. However using  a GPS app, the screen stays
    fully illuminated......as it should!
Is this normal now for playing music?
Also, the new grey on white menu display for music is very hard to read in the car in bright daylight.......unlke the old white on black. Nothing I
can do about that sadly except complain to apple directly :-(

Hi Diavonex. Yes I was aware of this option.
Subsequently I have done a litle research and downloaded a music app called "Track 8" which has a much clearer interface (larger type) and the abillity to change the background colour to dark or light.
This is much more readable in the car in bright light, and much better at night too.
You can also turn off auto-lock within the application, which is great, as it doesn't affect other apps.
Although this app is really only an interface sitting on top of the music app, it offers a much better experience
in my opinion that the stock player which seems to have devolved rather than evolved.

  • Will dead battery stop netbook g62 from booting up even when plugged into the mains

Had the battery warning (last week)
did not replace now will not boot up even when plugged into the mains.  Is this likely to stop booting or just a case of more than one thing wrong at the same time. New battery expensive to buy if it is likely to be something else wrong.

A battery can be so dead it will keep the laptop from powering on fully when the dead cells suck up too much of the power. Will it turn on with "mains" connected but battery removed?
