We have a new SONY BRAVIA 32" in our RV how can I stream directly from my Iphone or ipad direct to the TV via Bluetooth?
No you cannot. The only Blutooth support for the ATV is keyboards.
AirPlay requires the ATV and source (iPhone/iPad/computer) be on the same network, wired or wireless.

I have an iPhone 4 and an old router laying around. Sadly, there is no actual internet connection in the house, but I want to be able to stream from my iPhone to an Apple TV. Can I just plug in the router and use (I think its called the LAN?) that the router puts out to connect the two devices over Airplay? I wouldnt need an Internet connection for Netflix or anything, I just want to mirrior my iPhone onto my TV.

I understand that a previous response from us didn’t resolve an issue you have with the BBC iPlayer, via your Apple TV device.
Streaming programmes should be able to play using airplay but downloaded programmes are not currently supported on the Apple TV.
However, we aim to resolve this in a future update to the BBC iPlayer.
We do appreciate the time taken to report this issue as all feedback received helps us to develop and improve the service.
Your comments have been used to inform a daily report which is sent to the BBC iPlayer team, including the head of BBC iPlayer.
Seems we are keeping our fingers crossed that Apple and the BBC will have the same common aim in getting AppleTV to incorporate the iPlayer. -
How can I stream from iTunes (Win) to Apple TV (3. generation)?
Home Sharing is turned on, but I can't see my iTunes library on my Apple TV, also I've no idea, how to stream from my MacBook or PC to the Apple TV. Firewall is offline during testing. Streaming photos and from iOS-devices works.
What happens you you try? Are you looking under Music or Computers > Music. Have you entered in the home sharing ID you created in to ATV?

many thanks for your timeYou need to turn off the option to copy content to the iTunes folder in iTunes preferences, then when you add new content to iTunes you will need to place the content on one of the HDDs and then drag and drop it onto iTunes from a finder window.
Or you can alternatively leave the "Copy" option on and simply press the Alt-key when dragging and dropping content to momentarily suspend the "Copy" of the dragged content to the library. (I.e., iTunes will gladly manage both copied and non-copied content as long as you do not move or delete the non-copied files at the Finder level after adding them to the iTunes database.) -
I had Apple TV up and running for about 3 weeks. All good... then I get an update. Since then I've got the HDCP error, so Netflix doesn't work, nor can I stream from my iphone. By shear coincidence, my Sky TV has flagged up the exact same issue at the same time, despite being problem freem for 3 years ?? So nothing on my TV except YouTube. Looking at the amount of forum content on this matter, Apple know this is a problem.
It's too much of a coincidence not to be related. I requested a phone call at 8:45 this morning, which happened to be 9:00, so I'd left the house. The useless guy said he'd email me something to help..... and I'm still waiting for that email.
I've tried swapping HDMI cables, resetting Sky and Apple TV, resetting the router, changing resolution in the Audio Visual settings, switching on in different sequences.... I'm lost with it.
Is Apple now run by monkeys ? This is beyond a joke. How can an update ruin everything ?

i want to hook up a mac mini and us my tv as a monitor. how can I use airplay from my phone on the mac mini like i can with an apple tv (without having to buy an apple tv!). the airplay capabilities i want to use are mirroring and streaming from my iphone!

I Just moved and cannot get cable/internet for another week. Soo... My iphone has internet (duh!) but cannot support a wireless hotspot. I also have at my disposal a MacBook Pro and an airport express. What I would like to do is stream from my iphone to my 3rd gen Apple TV. Can I somehow setup a network for sharing without having the iphone try to use the wifi for internet. Or could it be possible to connect the MacBook Pro to the Apple TV via a wifi network then stream the phone to the MacBook Pro via Bluetooth?
You can't use the cellular connection to stream data from the web and then share it using a wifi hotspot on your phone to use AirPlay if that is what you are after.
You can however set up a proper wifi network using a router if you want without having an outside connection and use it to Airplay content on your phone you downloaded from your cellular network. -
Hi, we have two iphones with two accounts. The apple tv automatically syncs with one account to play music from the iphone to apple tv. How can I use my iphone to do the same?
Our experience is a little different, we have different iTunes accounts for different family members, each family member has their own iTunes library on their own mac, each mac uses my Apple ID for homesharing and we are able to play purchased content from each library on the Apple TV.

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Most have restrictions in that you must be a current customer and have maintained service for a minimum period of time. Do yourself a favor, sell it and purchase a phone in India instead.

My photos are not streaming from my iPhone 4 to my iPad 7. The settings are correct and it always has before I had a recent holiday in Cuba. Those photos didn't stream and now new photos since home in Vancouver, Canada are not? Both are updated to IOS 7.1.2
Hmm... It looks like they are gone forever now then. I can't think of any other way of getting them back apart from restoring from an iTunes or iCloud backup. Somebody else might be able to help but I think they're gone forever. I don't know why they were wiped from your iPod but it could be something to do with security. In the future I would recommend syncing to iTunes or iCloud to prevent it from happening again. You can always make a reservation at the Genius Bar and see what those guys can do because it seems that they are still there, they are just 'hidden' from view. http://concierge.apple.com/reservation/gb/en/techsupport/
