Can I stream the audio from my AppleTV to my ITouch?

I would like to be on the treadmill with my headphones plugged into the ITouch and not have to crank the volume up on the TV while whatching it.

No, you can stream from the iPod Touch to the ATV but not the other way around.

If you wish to use home sharing then you need to setup the Apple TV under your ID.

  • Can I rip the audio from a video so that's all i have?

I have a couple of comedy videos and i find it unecessary to have the video and the audio, since it would be just as great with only the audio. So my question is if anyone knows if i can rip only the audio froma quicktime movie? thanks in advance.

Try virtualdub found at virtualdub.org. I have never tried a quicktime movie. If it doesn't work, go to www.digital-digest.com. They will have the answer.

  • How can i cut the audio from 1 file and put it on another?

I have these2 files of the same movie, 1 is amazing quality but theres no audio. the other is crummy quality but has perfect audio. How can I cut the audio from the good audio version and paste it onto the good video file?
btw i have quicktime pro is that changes anything

Open the movie and press "Command J". This will bring up the properties window. Click on the Audio Track or Video Track and the "Extract/Delete" buttons will light up. Click "Delete" and it'll delete the currently selected track, click "Extract" and it will extract the selected track into a new movie. Just use Delete on the correct track and you're halfway there.
Then, select the movie that is just an Audio Track now, do "Command A" then "Command C" to copy the audio track. Go to the movie that's just a video track, move the insertion point to the beginning of the video then do "Option Command V" to add the Audio Track to the Video Track side by side.

  • How can I transfer the contacts from my ipad to my itouch ?

How can I transfer the contacts from my ipad to my itouch?

Precisely what adami said. Hook up your ipad to your computer. Under 'info' choose to sync contacts. That will put them on your computer. Then plug in your Touch and choose the same, to sync contacts with the computer, and they'll transfer.
Alternatively you can go into each contact and choose to 'share' it and mail it to an account that you can access on your Touch, then open it and save it. Upside, no computer needed, downside, it's a bit tedious.
Theoretically you can also use iCloud, however the cloud ate my contacts so I'm not syncing via the cloud for that anymore. Your experience might be different, but I personally would avoid the cloud unless you've got them all backed up somewhere in case the cloud eats yours too.

  • How can I stream the audio only to my Apple TV while watching the video on my iPad?

    Hi everybody!
My question might sound a little confusing to some of you, but anyway: When I watch a video on my iPad (youtube app, facebook, etc.) I would like to watch the video on my iPad and stream the audio to my atv, which is connected to my hifi. Currently, every time I hit the airplay button both video AND audio will be streamed.
Many people complain about only streaming audio, but that's precisely what I am looking for! I don't want to turn on my TV for every silly 0:30 min youtube video. I would love to find something like this:
    Cheers for any help!

you can't rely on airplay mirror some apps support the old in app airtune audio only option if the video app in question does you can do it from the apps settings somehow
if not then you need a airport express which does pretty much what airplay mirror on the Apple TV does but it's a audio only

  • Can you record the audio from a Video embedded in a pdf?

I can't seem to find anything on this, so I will ask. A client sent us a company produced interactive pdf and wants us to use the audio from a video clip that is in the pdf. We asked for the audio clip but they don't know who to get it from and just keep saying it is in the pdf. While others try to explain that a pdf and an mp3 are not the same thing. I get to look into a fall back position of trying to extract the audio (or video). There is no copyright issue here. Client peon just can't/won't get the proper file.
Maybe some one can help or point me to info that says it is not possible.
    Thanks.

WireTap Studio did the trick. I downloaded a free Trial version and bob's yer uncle.

  • Can I stream the sound from a video running on my apple tv to my wireless speakers using airplay?

I have living room speakers connected to an airport express and available via airplay from my computer, ipad2 and iphone which is great for playing music. My question is, can I use those speakers to play sound from videos running on my apple tv? For instance if I use airplay to run a video on apple tv from my computer or iOS device, can I have the audio play on my speakers connected to an airport express? It would be amazing to be able to use the speakers simultaneously with the apple tv as they are both on the same home sharing network. Possible?

No. But, are your speakers only connected to the AE or are they also connected to an amplifier?
You would need to use a Toslink cable to go from the Apple TV to the speakers/amp.
I don't use this or know a lot about it, but it is wildly popular, inexpensive and may be of help:

  • Can I  rip the audio from a video file?

I have a video file with a band singing on it. I have an ipod nano, so I can't import the video with the singing onto my ipod. Is there anyway to rip the audio from the video file and put that onto my ipod?
    -Thanks

Open the video in Quicktime Player.
    Select the Export menu item.
Change the Export type to "Sound to Wave".
Save the WAV file somewhere with the default settings.
Load the WAV file into iTunes and use iTunes to convert it to AAC for the Nano.

  • Can you extract the audio from a music video?

Some of my favorite songs were purchased from Itunes as music videos. (Because they are also my favorite videos.) Now I'm trying to figure out how to move those songs to the iPod +without having to buy the songs as just songs!+ It's been very frustrating. "Create iPod or iPhone version" doesn't convert to anything useful for a Shuffle. How do I extract the audio from the video?
Or do I have to buy the same music over again?

    Hello RoyFeni,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Can you change the music video's *Media Type* to Music from under the Options tab of the *Get Info* window for the track in iTunes?
I'm not sure if you can, but hey its at least worth a try. It's all I have though.
Otherwise, this is not possible via iTunes. The only way you would be able to extract the audio is through the help of some third party application. Not sure how simple or complicated the process is.

There are several sw applications for the PC you can use to get the audio from the video file.
You can use an encoder like www.imtoo.com 3gp encoder.
You could use SUPER (freeware video encoder)
Lastly if you have an audio recorder app in your pc you could just play the video and record the audio in your recorder application.
There are just many ways to do this.

  • Can i use the audio from a theme for a different one?

    Hello,
I'm creating a DVD for my students. Long story short, we spent 3 weeks in China, I borrowed all their pictures and I'm creating a DVD with all the pictures and videos for them to have as a souvenir.
I'm using Reflection Black but there is no audio with this theme. I know how to add music to menus or slideshows but I'd like to add the audio from a different file, Revolutions (7.0 theme). Is it possible?
I've tried, without success, to locate the audio file. I was starting to get quite annoyed so I tried to record the audio using Quicktime but the sound wasn't very nice!
As you've probably guessed by now, I'm not very good with computers when it comes to technical stuff!
I really want my DVD to be good! I would really appreciate if you could help me!
    Thanks.
    Mily

Sorry! Just found where the audio files were!

  • Can I stream the music from my iPhone directly to AppleTV ?

    Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to stream the music stored on my iPhone directly to an AppleTV, without having to get through a computer.
If I do, that would be a really cool feature... but though I searched, I could not manage to find out to do that !
    Regards.
    FRED

    Hi Chenks,
Well, I know she can do that. But that implies that each time you want to do that, you have to turn on her computer (a PC from work... ouch !), check the music is synched, if it is not, sync it, then make sure the thing is connected to the Apple TV and then select the correct shared library in Apple TV...
That's way too much of a hassle for my poor wife
But if there is no way to do it otherwise, I think this is what we'll end up doing
    Thanks for your contribution.
    Regards.

  • Merge Clips:  Can you omit the audio from the video track?

    To be more specific:
    Running FCP 6.0.3:
I'm syncing audio separately recorded to video for a feature film. The video (RED ftg) has one track of reference audio on it, and it's usually a scratchy wireless signal that is not useable. Can I merge the video track with the audio tracks and leave behind the bad audio? Or can I get rid of that audio in any way?
    Thanks

  • HT202638 Can I record the audio from a cassette player (portable) into my Mac Mini 2012?

I have several old cassette tapes that I'd like to digitize.  Can I do that by playing the tapes on a portable cassette player plugged into the audio in port on the back of my 2012 Mac Mini?  If I can, what plug do I need,  a simple stereo (ground, left, right) mini plug?  Do I need a pre-amp?  What software should I use?

Yes, the audio input on your MacMini is stereo and line level. (It is not a Mic input.) You need a stereo miniature phono plug (3.5 mm) on the end that goes into the MacMini. You do not need a pre-amp.
As far as software goes, you can try 3rd party software, like: http://audacity.sourceforge.net
    or
    Just use Quicktime:
