1) any practical use of P2P multicast will have a delay measured in seconds. it shouldn't go to 30 seconds unless you have a large NetStream.bufferTime.
2) i strongly recommend against changing the multicast stream parameters. they all interact with each other. decreasing the window duration will decrease the effective reliability of the stream, by reducing the amount of time to receive all of the fragments of the stream as they pass through the P2P group -- especially when people join or leave the group, which can disrupt the low latency "push" trees that are constructed in the group.
3) you should be able to change the encoding parameters on the fly without a major disruption. are you using H.264 or Sorenson Spark? it's possible that your camera doesn't like to have its capture size changed and it is freezing temporarily. i'm not having any trouble changing the capture size with my camera (and using H.264). i recall there being some issue with changing the frames-per-second on the fly (at least some time ago, and i don't remember what the issue is) -- there was enough of an issue that i disabled it in my little app while actively publishing.

FCP X, Can I select part of a sequence to make a DVD

A client gave me his camcorder and asked me to transfer the footage to DVD. I've got over 4.5 hours on the time line and still have lost more to do. Can I select part of the timeline to make a DVD (say by year)? Is there a better way to do this, perhaps create a file like a .mov and put it on a drive that they could connect to a TV if that's even possible.
I'm open to all suggestions.

I haven't seen any docs that say you can share anything less than a "project". I just tried it here: opened a project, selected two discontiguous clips, and clicked Share to DVD. It created a DVD image of the whole Project. Same thing happened when I shared a 720p version to iTunes -- it created a video of the whole project/timeline.
Why not create a new Project for each DVD you want to create?
(The first sentence of the second paragraph of my earlier post may been confusing. The raw materials belong in the Event library as one or more Events. A Project is what you want to deliver to the 'customer'. Several Projects can be built from one or more Events. "tplynchy" may want to produce a DVD of clips from "1998", so desirable segments from the camcorder tape's event(s) should be assembled into a Project named "1992" and then shared in one or more forms.
(There should never been 4.5 hours of material in a project's Timeline.)

You can set up an Exchange account so mail is not delivered to it, essentially turning it into a calendar, only. The credentials on this account could be shared by multiple users, making it a group calendar. The problem I think would be administering the account across multiple devices and users, arranging procedures for appointment acceptance and creation, etc, and ensuring that changes made from one device synced to the other devices.....another approach might be to have a group calendar administrator with a desktop Outlook client that made changes and have the recipients with mobile devices use it read-only...

Under YouTube I have created playlists of videos that string together and play without further intervention. Is there a way to do something similar with the 100's of music videos which I have bookmarked in Firefox? . What I envision is being able to click on a bookmark somewhere in the list and then have it auto increment to the next bookmark. Can I extract a piece of video from a recorded DVD to iDVD ?

I recorded a DVD of a TV broadcast. I'd like to get an extract from it and use it in iDVD. Is that possible ?

Download Handbrake from http://handbrake.fr/. You can use Handbrake to extract the video to your Mac. Open iDVD and you can drag the video file into your project. Hope this helps.

HT1349 Many times I want to see a particular video, and my iPad will tell me I need flash. From what I have read apple software does not use flash. My question is what app can I purchase for my iPad that will make flash videos work?

Many times, while I am surfing through the Internet a particular web page will have a video, which requires Flash. iPads do not use Flash. So my question is, what app can I get from the app store will help me views these videos?

I did a quick search here and came up with a couple, the better of the two appears to be "Photon Flash Web Browser".
As with any app, read the reviews and decide for yourself. It may or may not work with the sites you need.

Can i hook up multiple ipads to a powerbar and use multi adapters

in more depth i mean can you take a 5 slot powerbar and hook up look a 4 slot usb adapter so you could fit like 20 ipads to charge or is that too much im asking because its at a school and we recently bought around 20 ipads but it takes too long to hook them up 2 at a time which results in half of them being dead the next day when more students need to use them so would this work or will i blow the outlet trying.

Buy more 10 watt USB chargers like the one that comes with each iPad or use the ones that come with the iPad and simply plug them into a multi-slot power bar. Do not try using USB hubs because they cannot provide sufficient power to charge an iPad.

How can I burn my HD camcorder videos to a HD dvd to play on my AVCHD plyer

I had a program on my windows PC that came with my Panasonic HD camcorder called HDWriter. I would transfer my videos from my camcorder to my windows PC. Then from the HDWriter I would burn my discs to watch on my BluRay player. HDWriter is not compatible with my Imac. Does anyone have any suggestions a what program I can get to accomplish this? I have a lot of videos that I transferred from my Windows PC.

I don't know if it will import AVCHD direct from your camcorder, but it will take the results from iMovie and burn them into a BluRay AVCHD format.

Canon s100 video to make widescreen dvd

I shot video with a Canon s100. When I click on the mov files, they are large and wide screen.
I authored a dvd and played it on my television. The video was very small and surrounded by a large black box.
How can I get the video to fill the TV screen. I had no problem when I made wide screen dvd's from video shot with my iPod.

When you open the file in Quicktime and get info(command+i) what size are the files? 1280x720, 640x480, 640x360?
How are you compressing the files for DVD? In compressor? DSP?
What does the video look like when you simulate in DSP?
If you build the DVD to your desktop and then open the Video_TS folder in the Mac DVD player application what does it look like? What ever you see here is what will end up on the DVD.

I used the roadtrip theme. I want to print directly on to the dvd, and I want to use the same roadtrip theme. can you do this? how? if possible.

It's located in the HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD/Themes/iDVD 6/Road Trip-Main.theme/Contents/Resources folder. Or you can just drag the background image from this post to your Desktop.
If you want to have the images you added to the dropzones included then take a screenshot of the iDVD window as Klaus1 suggested. That will give you a 72 dpi image like this:

I have multiple ipads. I'd like to give a presentation with all the attendees viewing the presentation on each ipad. Each attendee would be given an ipad to view the presentation. The presenter would control the presentation from their iphone or ipad. How can I do this? Is there a way to sync all ipads together. Preferablly over bluetooth. Help please!

You can research into the iMovie app and see what it'll do. I'm afraid I've never used it. But I know it does have a section on this forum so maybe someone there can answer your question.
The only other way I can think of would be to get your files off your iPad and onto a computer and then get a video editing program (there are several that are inexpensive) and use that to put them together.

Is it possible to have multiple ipads on one account and share info, but also allow the individual users to have personal email that is not seen on the other ipad's? We have all ipads on same icloud account because we all need to see the same ical. It seems like that's the problem. If it IS related to icloud then if we have separate icloud accounts, how would we share the main ical otherwise? Sharing the ical is very important for this business so everyone can access the daily schedule. Of course each user still wants to have private email.

you could set up the main icloud itunes acount for ical and not have in setup on the devices
and share the calandar with the other itunes accounts on the devices
or only have it on one device
devices have the users indervidual itunes icloud setup
they should be able to access the shared "main" itunes icloud ical account once it's shared
