Can I swap my upgrade?

I have a Verizon account that I've had for about 6-7 years.
I have two lines on my account - One that is a Tablet (Samsung Galaxy) that is a 2GB/mo data plan (no voice), and the other is an iPhone 4S that has unlimited data and 450 minutes/month.
I want to get out of the iPhone and get a new Droid. However, my contract is up on my iPhone in July. However, my Tablet is "eligible" for an upgrade according to Verizon's website because it's out of it's contract. I've tried hitting the "transfer upgrade" button on my online account, and it says that it was successfully transferred.. but when I go into by a phone, it comes up at full retail price
Is there any way to use the upgrade for the tablet to replace my iPhone and keep my unlimited data?
Maybe upgrade the tablet to my new Droid, swapping phone numbers between my new Droid and my old iPhone, then taking the iPhone off and replacing it with my tablet?

Not a simple matter of just swapping sims. First, go to your carrier's store & get new sims for each phone...you a nano for the 5S, your husband a sim for his phone. Then:
On each phone, turn off FaceTime, iMessage, Find My Phone & delete the iCloud account.
Back up each phone, then: Settings>General>Reset Erase All Content & Settings. Once complete, turn both phones off & swap sims. Turn each phone on & restore from the backups you made. Follow this by syncing iTunes content back to each phone. Call your carrier & make sure they have the correct IMEI's for each account/phone.
That's it, that's all you have to do.

New MBP on the way, can I swap in a Macbook 320G drive?

I've finally made the move to upgrade my old white MB to a MBP (15"). About 4 months ago I upgraded the drive in the MB to a 320G Western Digital. All my software is up to date on that box. Is there any reason I can't swap out the drive in my new MBP for this one and be fine?

Yup. Same issue, except with a 15" Unibody MBP HD to a 17" Unibody MBP... I'd upgraded to a WD Scorpio Black 320 GB 7200 RPM drive on the non-CTO 15 MBP, just having gotten all the settings perfect in CS3 and CS4, yada yada... the Apple Tech I spoke with about the exact same question responded: "A cloned volume or hard drive swap from the 15 inch MacBook Pro will be slower on the 17 than using MA... definitely use Migration Assistant. No question."
So, I did, despite a few Permissions issues... went from the nice 'n speedy 2.53 GHz, 6 GB RAM 15.4" Unibody MBP (I own 2 2.53 GHz 15s and now 2 2.93 GHz 17s also, one gloss and one matte, all 4 for my consulting biz), the non-clone, just simple Migration Assistant enabled transfer resulted in a nice productivity and speed boost with the first (glossy) 17" MBP, the 2.93 GHz uptick and 8 vs. 6 GB of RAM helped speed things up past the 15" more than the numbers might suggest, especially in p-shop, Aperture, FCP, Shake, and Nikon NX2...I'd stick with the long way home on this procedure, but I'm with ya on all the reasons to go with a CCC/Super Duper HD clone or simple transplant! :^/

The Solaris 8 Advanced Installation Guide recommends allocating at least 512Mbytes of swap space before upgrading. Is this referring to swap disk or total swap space?
Do I need to allocate more swap space before upgrading to Solaris 8?

If you are using the "Installation" cd with Solaris 8 then it requires a minimum of 512 to store the "installer" in swap so it can do the installation. If you forego the use of the Installer CD and start the Installation with Disk 1 of 2 then you don't have to worry about swap issues. The Advanced Installation Guide seems to indicate that you should use the WebStart Installer but it is not needed.
If you are doing an upgrade then it will use what you already have set up as a swap slice. If you are doing an initial install then you can make swap whatever you want.

Not necessarily. As I said the new models have a different build installed. The build you are now using may not work because it will not contain all the needed new hardware drivers. You can give it a try. If it doesn't work properly then you will need to reinstall OS X using the installer discs that come with the new computer.

I have a 2007 iMac that I want to replace with a refurbished 2011 model. I had upgraded my 2007 iMac with a 1.5T hard drive and the 2011 model only comes with a 1T hard drive. And you can't do any upgrade at the Apple store on refurb units. SoI am just wanting to swap hard drives. The 2007 has 10.7 and it appears that the 2011 model has the same. (says elegible for 10.8 upgrade on Apple Store site.) I have replaced the hard drive myself, so I am familiar with the process.

The drives themselves are compatible, yes. However, the OS might not be. In any case, if you have a Time Machine backup (or some other backup) of the older iMac, it's best to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS once installed in the new Mac. Then you can just transfer your data, apps, and settings from the backup.
One important thing to note, though: the 2011 iMacs have temperature sensors built in on the hard drive, so if you use a drive other than one supplied by Apple specifically for that system, the fans will run at full speed all the time. Probably the easiest workaround: use something like smcFanControl to regulate the speed of the fans. Hope this helps!

The icon for Safari has probably moved to make room for new apps. Scroll the Home screen to look for it.
You cannot reverse the upgrade.

Can't get past "Upgrade to iTunes 10" ad

I recently searched Google for pre-done music mixes to listen to when I run. I found a site that has several mixes. I chose a "Classic Rock" mix. There was a link to click that took me to the iTunes Store, where I could preview the songs. I bought the mix -- it was all good. Then a few days ago I went to the same site, selected another running music mix, and clicked on the link that should have taken me to the iTunes store to preview the songs. BUT, I ended up on a page that advertises iTunes 10, with a link to click to download it. I can't download iTunes 10 with the OS I have, but that's beside the point. I simply can't get to the list of songs in the music mix/can't preview the songs. I've spent 3 days going back and forth with someone in iTunes Support, and he can't figure it out. What he did say was when he goes through all the steps I did, starting on the running music website, he also gets the "ad" page for iTunes 10, but there a place to click for "Download" AND a place to click for "Don't Download." I don't have a "Don't Download" button.
Does anyone have any ideas?

You don't need a new computer. If you just want to purchase - which has nothing to do with the original question in this thread which, BTW, is almost six months old - you probably just need iTunes 9.2.1 which you can get if you upgrade your system to Mac OS X 10.4.11. If you want full functionality with the iTunes Store, you can probably just upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5 which will allow you to run iTunes 10.
And no, no one from Apple is going to be listening in this old thread, and they wouldn't reply if they were since these forums are for user-to-user assistance. I can't comment on your "customer service" since I have no idea what routes you pursued in an attempt to find a solution to your difficulties.
