Can I switch to an older iTunes?

I bought a new laptop and installed iTunes 11.01.12 and I find it extremely difficult to use.  I mainly use iTunes to download podcasts and add them to my iPod touch.  This used to be easy to do.  Now I can't add podcasts from a playlist in my library to my iPod.  iTunes is prompting me to sync but giving me incomprehensible warnings about deleting some files.  I would like to return to an older version of iTunes.  Is this possible?

    You can't. And you don't want to do that anyway. Setting up a new iTunes account will not help you when you want to update apps purchased under the one you can't remember the Security Questions for. You will need the password for that account to update any apps purchased under it.

    The iTunes Store in a country is intended for use only by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store.  You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.
    E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations.     Sometimes when I play songs in Itunes by double clicking on them, Itunes will place the song as the first one on the album.  It will chnage the order of the songs on the album, and I can not switch them back to the correct order.  This onloy seems to happen when I double-click on the song to play it in itunes.  If I just hit play, this doesnt happen.  As a result, I have several albums now in which the songs are in the wrong order.  Its very frustrating, as this error then transfers over to my ipod every time I sync it.  When I choose the info. for the songs, it has them correctly listed (i.e., it lists the songs as being #1 of 19 on the CD, for example).  But then the song will have placed by Itunes as #5 of 19 for whatever reason.  Itunes does not do this every time, but does it with enough frequency to be maddening.  Any thoughts?

    The problem of tracks becoming de-linked between iTunes and the music files in your iTunes music folder happens for different reasons - this seems to come up fairly commonly in this forum.
    The solution can be to locate each song in the iTunes library, as you mentioned - or, but wait, before I get to that...
    trouble finding the original track in your iTunes music folder? maybe look for it under compilations, or if not using the 'group compilations preference' then look in the folder under the songs artist name, but what song artist name iTunes uses depends on what you have in the metedata tag spot for album artist or song artist. Any varyation in artist name spelling, in the menu item 'get info' metadata for any selected individual track will cause iTunes to create that as a separate artist folder in the library, even names like 'various' or any difference at all (even the word 'the' can change where in your iTunes music folder a track gets placed by iTunes). You can try to use the finder function of find file (finder munu item outside of iTunes) to locate hard to find items.

    You can get the SD or 720p version by:
    Open iTunes 11
    Click iTunes in menu bar > select Preferences...
    Click on the Store tab
    Change When downloading High Definition videos, prefer dropdown to 720p > click OK
    Click on the iTunes Store button
    Click Purchased link
    Click Movies tab
    You should now see a download icon for the movies you already have 1080p version of.
    Click on this download icon to download the 720p version.
    This will put a 720p version in the same folder on your hard drive as the 1080p version.  If you have iTunes setup to play 1080p when available, it will play the 1080p version.  When you connect your iPad 1, it will sync the 720p version.
    Don't forget to change your preference back to 1080p so you can continue to get the higher quality version.

    Just be cause the account was disabled (Apple ID) doesn't mean you can't reset the password and have access to your iTunes purchases.
    Use the iforgot link to reset your password > Apple ID: "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" alert appears

    I really hate hate iTunes 11, I've tried getting used to it I can't deal with it. I've tried to iTunes 10 back with no luck. I've uninstalled every Apple thing on my computer, reinstalled 10, and rebooted. I've done this twice now and I'm still getting this message "The file iTunes library.itl can not be read as it was created by a newer version of iTunes". I've tried repairing iTunes in the control panel as that was suggested to me but still nothing.
    Is there just no way at all I can get the older iTunes back? I have Windoes 7 64 bit.

    If you are asking because you are getting an 'account not in this country' error message then on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on the device and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section on that screen and select Nigeria.
    If you need to update your address on your account from the US to Nigeria then on your computer's iTunes you should be able to do so by signing into your account via the Store > View Account menu option and updating your address, or on an iOS device you can do it by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store similar to above.

    Same issue.  Shuffle does not turn off either from the button or from Controls > Shuffle > Turn off Shuffle.
    To be more specific, iTunes shuffles no matter what, even when the button is off and when Controls > Shuffle says "Turn on Shuffle" (meaning it's supposed to be off).
