  • Can't sync iPhone contact with iMac address book since Lion upgrade

iCal sync is fine.  All the proper boxes in iTunes are checked.  The iPhone is reconized in iTunes.  Any suggestions?

Sorry I don't have an answer for you.  I kind of doubt Apple has added a solution for that yet, since your Facebook account is not yet synced through iCloud; it is set up independantly on each device.
However I hope you can help me, I cannot figure out how to manually link contacts on my Mac; there is no Add Link button like there is on the phone...

  • Can you sync iphone contacts with outlook two ways?

When I sync my iphone with outlook using itunes, one contact is not syncing.  The initial sync went fine but subsequent syncs deleted one contact from the desk but left it on the phone.  Is there a two-way sync setting I am missing?

    Hey Mark
    I'm Michael and I work for connex.io.
We were also constantly having problems with our address books, so we decided to build our own solution. connex.io is a service that syncs two-ways between all of your devices and services. It also de-duplicates, cleans completes and automatically updates your address books on all of those devices. So whenever you make a change on any of them, it automatically gets changed everywhere. So you only have to connect your address books once, and you will have your contacts always with you. No need to connect your device to your computer or sync manually.
If you want to check it out: www.connex.io or you can send me an e-mail if you would like some more info: [email protected]
I hope this helps you out.

I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • Can't sync iPhone contacts with Yahoo on iTunes

I always get a connection error while syncing my iPhone with the Yahoo Address book because an Internet connection is not available. But it is available since all other Internet apps work
See http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iphonebugzp9.png for a screenshot of the exact error.
    Thanks

I get the same error, if it makes you feel better. I have seen a few posts on this subject with no help.

  • Since Belle update: Can't sync phone contacts with...

This question was asked in the N series boards by someone else but with no reply's, thanks paramasivan for first raising this.  I have an E6 so I'll post the same query here for better luck.
Since the update to Belle the "social network" option from the contacts has been removed.
This means I can't sync my contacts with my friends/contacts from Facebook.  I've logged in and used Nokia Social but there's no option anymore to sync this.
So how do we sync these again ?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

From another thread on the same topic someone posted these links that worked fine, the second link in particular worked for me.
Thanks to kamalnm who posted these originally

Then something is setup incorrectly, which version of OSX are you on, and is this an iCloud mail address (@mac, @me or @icloud)
From your description of the issue I suspect that it is Outlook that is incorrectly setup.

Am I able to sync my Contacts from my iMac OS X 10.4.11 to my new iPad2?

You need the latest version of iTunes for Tiger it appears, but v10.5 is 10.5.8+ only, yet...

To sync contacts with your computer, choose Sync Contacts on your Windows-based PC, or “Sync Contacts with Address Book” on your Mac.
You can sync your contacts with:
Microsoft Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Outlook 2007 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7)
Windows Address Book (Windows XP and Windows Vista)
Address Book (Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later)

  • How can I sync iPhone 3GS with my Windows 7 PC, when iTunes does not appear on monitor screen when I plug the iPhone into the computer?

How can I ync iPhone 3Gs with my Windows 7 PC, when iTunes does not launch when I connect the iPhone to my computer? Note: My computer crashed and I am reinstalling everything.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up your phone manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
    Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in iTunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • Syncing iphone contacts with iCloud does not work

I navigate to my iPhone 4 Settings and from there chose the option which is named iCloud
I turn OFF Contacts choosing to keep contacts on my iPhone and then turn it ON again.
I get prompted with the option to Merge my iPhone contacts with the ones I have on the iCloud already. I  click "Merge".
I wait until the iCloud service is turned on for my iPhone contacts.
Finally, I go back to the Contacts app on my iPhone and click Groups, which is there I assume because I have multiple email accounts linked to my iPhone. I refresh my contact list by clicking on the circular arrow in the top left corner of the screen on the iPhone.
Contacts I have recently added to my iPhone are NOT transferred to iCloud.
    Why is this not working?
    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

Go on system preferences / iCloud and check if Calendar is turned on.
Then take your iPhone 4 and go on Settings/iCloud and check if the Calendar is turned on.
If both are on with the same Apple ID, it should all go fine.
You can go on iCloud.com, logon with your Apple ID and click on the calendar to verify.

  • Syncing iPhone contacts with a specific Group on iCloud/computer

I am using iOS 7 and run Mavericks. I want to sync (be it either through iCloud or through the desktop) the contents of my iPhone contacts with a specific group of contacts on either iCloud or a group in Contacts. How do I do that?

    Hello Jim,
It took forever. With MobileMe, it was immediate.
Up in the cloud the clocks seem to tick differently and time is relative, so we will just have to learn to be patient ...
To be serious, the first iCloud experiences seem to be different on the different continents, depending on the time zone you are in. In Europe there does not seem to be so much traffic up in the Cloud during day time  as in the states,

  • Can I sync my contacts with hotmail just like calendar

Just as the calendar snyc feature with Hotmail I would like to sync my contacts with Hotmail so that I have all my contact details in one place. Is this possible? Importing contacts form the SIm is a long tedious method and has limited capability.
    Regards
    Ravindra Bhat

Apparently that feature is already implemented in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/whats-new-firefox-os-v11#w_import-contacts-from-more-places v1.1] .
You will have to wait for your device maker to support that version or use fastboot to install it yourself.
For now, I use vcardin from the Marketplace to import contacts from vcard(s) on a memory card.

  • Can't sync my contacts with iPhone 3G since started using iCloud

    Hey guys
I have an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3G. before iCloud, I used to sync both of them with my mac and everything would work like a charm. but since iCloud's running and I'm backing up my iPhone to my iCloud account, everything's ok between my iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 and Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2.
The problem is when I want to sync contacts between iPhone 3G iOS 4.2.1 and Mac. My iPhone 4 shows that the contacts are in a group names 'All iCloud' and it seems like I can sync only contacts from the group named 'All from my Mac' to my iPhone 3G. Eventhough I have all my contacts in my Address Book already. And it seems I would be able to sync my contacts if I can get them on my Mac, but how?
    Any Ideas?

    iKaveh wrote:
Think all we need to do is to move contacts from 'All iCloud' to 'All from Mac' somehow.
    But how?!
This is not something I've been able to test, but I believe this process will do it:
Select all your contacts in the 'iCloud' list in Address Book.
From the File menu choose 'Export>vCard' and save the vCard on your Desktop or somewhere convenient.
Set 'On My Mac' to be the default account in Preferences.
From the File menu choose 'Import' and select your vCard.
Import into Address book, making sure the contacts go into 'On My Mac'.
You will now have duplicate contacts, and can delete the ones under 'iCloud'.\
As you will have gathered, you have three choices:
Keep your contacts under 'On My Mac' and sync them via USB.
Keep your contacts under 'iCloud' and sync them to iCloud.
Keep a full set under each category and sync to both. Of course any additions or changes will have to be made twice.
