Can I sync 2 iPhones to one itunes account but have seperate yahoo contacts

We have 2 iPhones and want to be able to share the same itunes account which doesn't seem to be a problem. However we can't seem to have separate yahoo contacts synced with the two separate phones. It wants to keep putting my wife's contacts on my phone or vice a versa. Now our Yahoo contacts are all mucked up. Any help would be appreciated. I can't believe we can't do this.

You can sync many devices to one itunes account. I, for instance, have two ipods and an iphone on one account. They all have different setting and contents, but still only sync to one itunes account.
Yes you and your wife can use one itunes account.

    Why?
Much simpler if you each have your own iTunes account with yoru own data

  • Can I have one itunes account, but have two devices that used different email accounts?

I have an iPad2 and want to buy an iPod Touch for my daughter.  I want it to use her email address, but use my itunes account.  Can that be done?

The Apple/iTunes ID (which is a email address) is seperate from any mail accounts yu have on the iPod/iPad.  Both devices can use the same Apple/iTunes ID but have different email address for the mail accounts on the devices.

  • How do we share one iTunes account but have separate users

My family all have apple products, but cant figure out how to share one account as a family, share applications, and the rest, but have differant users. Is there an actual way to do this?

You can edit the information on your Apple account in a number of places (they all link together)
    On Apple.com - http://store.apple.com/us/account/home
On the Apple ID Website - https://appleid.apple.com
On iTunes - Choose Store > 'View Account' from the Menu Bar.
On an iOS Device - Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Tap on the 'Apple ID' > Tap 'View Apple ID'
    Good Luck!

  • I have activated 2 iPhones using my iTunes account, but I now would like to take one iPhone off this account, and start its own iTunes "pairing" in order to back up, without cross syncing between purchases, how can I do this?

I have activated 2 iPhones using ONE iTunes account, but I would now like to remove one iPhone from the account and add it to a new iTunes account. This is so that I can back it up without cross syncing between purchases/apps on both iPhones.
Whats the best method for this?
    I'm running Windows 7
    Many thanks

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings.  Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account.  You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account.  (have restrictions turned off)  That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices.  Then sign in using the new ID.

  • Syncing multiple Iphone to one Itunes account

I would like to know up to how many Iphones can we sync with just one Itunes account ?
I need to update 13 to 14 Iphones periodically

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs.

  • I have one itunes account, but several itouch apparatus that belong to kids, how do I keep their cloud stuff separate, or does it all go into one cloud?

I have one itunes account, but have several itouches that belong to the kids.  How do I keep the cloud's separate, or does it all go into one, because of the one acccount?

All devices under the same Apple ID will have one iCloud. If they are over 13, they can create their own Apple IDs, or you can just turn everything off under Settings > iCloud on the iPods.

    Hi jhyiesla,
Im not sure wether I got you right or not. But my advice/s would be as follows:
These steps help you get rid of old apps you downloaded years ago and you do not use anymore.(Also frees space on your mac after emptying the trash)
    1) go to iTunes and delete all applications in it. Make sure to move them to trash! Do not empty your trash yet. Its your backup if step 3 doesnt appear.
    2) connect both your devices(one after each other) and make a backup. !!!Dont press the Sync button, press the Back Up Now Button
    3) Then it asks you if you want to backup applications as well. Confirm. (This is how apps get transferred manually)
    4) Then Sync your devices... The first time it might be, that there are some additional apps loaded to your devices you dont want to.. delete them on your Device (not iTunes) and after that you should be good every time you sync again.
    5) now you can empty your trash on your mac.
    Further,
    - You should regularly connect your devices with iTunes to make sure they are backed up. (Even if you have activated iCloud backup, the iTunes backup is more proper i.e.. Apps)
    - If you hate scrolling through a list of apps in iTunes, you can re/install apps directly on iOS not via iTunes. I absolutely never go to the "Applications" section in iTunes. I install and delete apps directly on iOS.

  • An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time

I recently bought a MacBook Pro, and I figured it would be pretty simple to move my iPhone to sync with iTunes on the Mac from iTunes on my pc, afterall it is the same program and both are designed for the iPhone.
I have been successful in getting the Contacts and Calendar to sync, but the Music, Applications, Video and a few other things give me this message when I check the sync box:
"The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase the iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
Obviously, I don't want to erase everything. Actually, I don't care about Music, Videos, Podcasts or Ringtones as I don't have any, but I do care about Photos and Applications. Actually Photos I can reload too, but I don't want to loose the apps I have purchased with the iTunes App Store.
I even tried going back to the PC and unchecking the Sync boxes on it, hoping this might disassociate it from the phone, but now even on that PC I get the same message.
How do I disconnect phone from the old iTunes and be able to sync it to the new iTunes? This should be simple right?

I made an appointment with a Mac Genius and I will say that while it was better than getting to talk to India on a poor quality phone call it was just about as helpful. Sure she was cute and friendly, but I left without my issue resolved and was surprised that I didn't even get a followup from anyone asking about my experience (hence my venting here)
Anyway, I found a solution for my issue here: http://tinyfish.net/2008/07/18/how-to-sync-iphone-with-multiple-computers/
This is a real solution to the issue, and has the benefit that I can do this to as many machines as I need and sync at any of them instead of just one. Hopefully, Apple doesn't delete my response since it truly is the answer to the problem and others might be looking for the same solution.

  • Can you have 2 iphones on one itune account

My wife and i both have a iphone now and we currently have them both under one itunes account.  We have noticed that both of our contacts show up in each of our phones.  is there a way to keep this from happening?  Or do we need to set up two different itune accounts?

My spouse and I have one iTunes account but separate apple IDs. Are you sharing apple IDs? That might be the problem. We have two iPads not two iPhones (yet), but seems like it would most likely work the same. I don't see his contacts and he doesn't see mine, so that would be my suggestion. Make sure you each have your own apple IDs but one iTunes account and see if you still have the same issue.

  • How do I manage 2 Ipads and 2 iphones on one ITunes account.

How do I manage 2 Ipads and 2 iphones on one ITunes account.  Each device has a different name. But every time I plug them into iTunes on my Pc all the apps get screwed up. apps disappear etc.  I have "sync apps" selected without automatic updates. I'm thinking I should have this unselected, but that does make sense to me. Shouldn't I be able to have one iTunes account and manage each device independently.  What settings to do I need to apply to itunes so that every time i plug the devices in they don't get all messed up? thanks in advance
Also, Iphone 4s is possible to rotate pictures without extra hassle of downloading software??

You can try contacting iTunes Support and ask them if they can remove the balance from your account so that you can change countries : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Synching 2 3Gs iPhones to one iTunes account on one computer

I have a few questions regarding synching two 3Gs iPhones with one iTunes account on one computer.
I had synched both phones (mine and my wifes) to our desktop computer but saw that apps were being placed on both of our phones and contacts were being added to both and duplicated.
    1. If I try to synch my wifes iPhone to a her laptop with a new itunes account and it asks about erasing the data, will it get rid of the photos and contacts? I have looked this issue up and no one really seems to know.
    2. If I try to synch both iPhones to the desktop with the original itunes how do I avoid the issues of transposing apps, contacts being added to both? Several answers out on the Net say to make two seperate accounts. Does that mean two seperate "iTunes" accounts? Or two seperate profiles on the desktop computer.
The main reason I need to do this is because my wifes iPhone is about two or three firmware updates behind. I would like to update her firmware and back up all of her apps and contacts. I am backing up her photos to Shutterfly just in case, because if something happened to those I might not be around to see iPhone 5. hahaha j/k
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the discussions,
    1. If you manually backup your wife's phone before you sync for the first time to the laptop, you can save all data and settings of the phone and restore from that backup again after the initial sync.
    Here's how to backup manually:
Set up the same iTunes account on the laptop, disable autosync in iTunes/Settings/Devices.
Connect the phone, right click on it in the device list and choose "backup" iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, to copy apps and purchased media to the new library.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.
About backups and what's saved: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
How to back up and restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
How to download apps for free again: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
    2. If you're syncing both phones on one computer, either create a second user account on your computer, log in and do the same manual backup process as described above, or, take the time to set up each phone individually, including the settings for calendars and contacts, which apps to sync, etc.
iTunes will remember the settings for each phone and you'll only have to do this once.
You can only use apps on different devices if you're using the same account you did at the time you bought them.
