Hi Judith,
Your Print button should be accessible, of course, but sometimes we can do things to confuse the system and we have to take some action to get out of that situation. This case sometimes arises if we change the resolution of our screen display since opening the app, or if we change the position of something that is set to "stay on top" of the display.
If the Dock is the problem right now, you could Hide it or Move it to a different edge of the display, to get it out of the way. Settings are in System Preferences, Personal, Dock. I usually have my Dock set to automatically Hide itself, so it's never in the way.
You could also try Saving, Closing and reopening Pages and see if that resets the location of the Print Dialog. Or, you could just hit Return rather than clicking on the button.

Regardless of application, the first step that I take is to save and name the current document — even if it has no content yet. With Pages, this good habit enables autosave. As you add content, your document revision history is restorable via the File Revert To menu. The delete key has the same document foreboding as only teaching a pet raven to speak "Nevermore."

Locate the file on your Mac, plug in the USB stick (the mac should prompt you to open it, or do this automatically), click and drag the file from the computer (wherever it's saved to) to the USB folder. That's just putting an already saved file there.
To save it TO your USB stick, find it in the Save To diolog on the sidebar. Click it, then save it there.

Possibly.
You could test that by dropping a largish image into a test Pages document and duplicating it until your document won't send.
Some eMail clients have ceiling levels for file sizes, as do some receiving servers.
Also test to see if you can simply export your file to pdf, in which case it will be retained on your iPad. That would be a first step.

Yes it is possible -- but I don't have much help for why it isn't working for you. I just tried saving 2 documents from Pages version 5.5.1 on my Mac and was able to open the document from Pages on my iPhone. The only things I can think of is to insure both are using the same Apple ID and that when you save on the Mac your save dialog is set to save to Pages - iCloud or to iCloud Drive.

The acsm file is not the book, it is a ticket to get the book. I sometimes get library books online, here is what I do.
1. Start ADE on the computer
2. Go to library website and find the book I want to download.
3. Click on the download link
4. In windows 7 a box opens asking whether I want to open( or run) or save the acsm file
5. Click open/run and ADE downloads the book into the "Library"
6. Transfer the book (epub file) to the reader.

The best advice is to exclusively use Pages ’09 if it was installed prior to the Pages v5 upgrade downgrade. The older Pages will be found in /Application/iWork '09. Any double-click on a Pages document will invoke Pages v5.
I would bet that you had Pages ’08 or ’09 previously installed (now moved to /Applications/iWork '0?). Pages v5(.2) dropped support for Pages '08 and RTF documents. Pages v5(.2) document architecture is incompatible with Pages '09 while still retaining the .pages extension — just to keep you guessing.
If you attempt to open this new document architecture in the older Pages application, it will not tell you about this incompatibility, and just remind you to that you need the new Pages version. It is too stupid to notice that the latest Pages v5 application is installed. If you open a Pages ’09 created document with that application, you will get the same warning, because Apple thinks you should use Pages v5(.2) instead.
Pages v5(.2) will be all too glad to open a Pages ’09 document without any acknowledgement that you are entering the Twilight Zone, and that this document has quietly been transformed into a Pages v5 document architecture — no longer compatible with Pages ’09. Although there is an Export > Pages ’09 feature, the significant differences in application feature support means that you likely will not get a 1:1 correlation export compatibility with Pages ’09.

There are several ways to get the document to your Mac. If you use iCloud with Pages, you can download the document from iCloud.com on the Mac even if you are running less than Mountain Lion. I have an older iMac at work running Tiger 10.4.11 and I can access my Pages files in the cloud. You can email the file or you can use file sharing in with iTunes as well.
If you are using Word, you will have to convert the file to Word format first. With the document open in Pages on the iPad, you tap on the wrench icon in the upper right, and then select Share and Print. In the next window select either Email or copy to iTunes (if using file sharing). Then you will get the option in which format you want to send the file, Pages, Word or PDF. Select Word, the file will be converted and then go from there.
You can also send the file to DropBox in the latest version of Pages for iOS.

So...there is no "Export" function in the iOS version of Pages or Numbers? I've gotten used to exporting to PDF in that manner while using my MacBook. If I have to go back to 'print to file' that is fine. I assume I can then save it somewhere on the iPad?

Ok, so I was working on my FINAL LAB that's due TOMORROW and I have been saving the lab multiple times, but when i went to look for the document on my computer, nothing... I literally saved it at least 4 times, and there's nothing to be found!!! I need to print the lab out and hand it in tomorrow!!! PLEASE HELP!

Did you by any chance type a period at the beginning of the name? This renders the file invisible to the System.
Last thing, look in your Trash.
If you have gone down all the rabbit holes, I guess it is gone. No consolation at all.
After 7 months of warning against Pages 5, I will do so again. Pages 5 is a lobotimized, buggy, unannounced beta application that Apple has pushed on its users without warning, or apology.
Did you upgrade from a previous version of Pages? If so use that.
I suggest using:
1. A more compatible and secure application
2. Use files that can be parsed and rescued if something goes wrong
3. Maintain backups on different drives in different locations
All things I have hammered home to my son.
If he ever turns up in these forums, I shall kick his butt all round the campus.

Log into iCloud.com on your Mac, sign in and then click on iWorks. Click on Pages, find the document and click on it and then click on download. It will download to your Mac - assuming that you have enabled Documents and data in the iCloud setting on your iPad.
