Can I sync a Leopard iCal to a Tiger one?

Have 10.5.2 at home; 10.4.11 at work.
If I populate Leopard (home)'s iCal with To-Do's from Mail.app 3, then synch via .Mac, will iCal at work still on Tiger be able to read those To-Dos?
And would I be able to synch in the opposite direction - from Tiger iCal via .Mac into Leopard iCal and hence Mail.app 3 ?
TIA!

Good question... I'm not sure. I guess it depends on how the todos are stored and synced. Unfortunately, I don't have a Tiger machine around anymore to try it out. Your best bet might be to back everything up and try it yourself

  • Can't sync Outlook with iCal - but only when I activate iCloud

I have seen discussions in the forums about problems syncing Outlook with iCal - however, that is not *exactly* my issue. I can sync them fine, until I put the resulting iCal calendar in iCloud. Then Outook (2011 for Mac) stops syncing with iCal (v. 5.0.3). I take it out of iCloud, it works. What I want to be able to do is: 1. Sync Outlook with iCal. 2. Sync iCal with my iPhone via iCloud.
I used to manually sync my iPhone (4s) with my work computer (which apparently I could go back to doing if I change the settings in my iPhone?) and just update my work calendar to get it on my phone (my home calendar syncs fine, but it's not integrated with Outlook). I don't want to only use iCal, because I get a lot of Outlook invites for meetings.
Is this a feature that's just not supported by Apple at this time? Do I need to upgrade my O/S? I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Mountain Lion).
In short, I just want my Outlook calendar on my iPhone (ideally, without having to manually sync).

What kind of iPad and iPhone are you working with.. and what Software version on (5.1.1) is the most recent..

Follow the guide and it should work.

  • How can I sync my iMac iCal to android phone?

I have no problems syncing my iMac  to my iPhone but my husband has an android (Samsung Fascinate) and I'd like to sync the calendar (iCal) to his phone. I am not sure if I can do this with Apple...if I can, point me in the right direction and I'll give it a go.
    Thanks so much, Linda

    Hi Linda,
You might want to contact whomever supports that phone to see if they offer software for syncing with the Mac.  Palm used to for their products and Blackberry does for theirs.  Samsung might be the same.
You need a program to do the sync for you.  If Samsung does not provide one then you can purchase one: http://www.markspace.com/products/android/missing-sync-android.html?source=picke r_android
There are other methods like putting your calendars on a server like MobileMe or Gmail or Yahoo but these are a bit more complicated.
    Hope that helps!

  • Can you sync w800i and iCal remotely (ie via web rather than via bluetooth)

I am trying to sync my Sony Ericsson w800i with iCal via the web. My ical is published on .mac. On the w800i there is a synchronization menu that requires entry of a server address, username and password, and then specific app.settings for calendar (Database name, Username and password).
Does anyone know whether it is possible to confgure the w800i to sync using .mac/iCal settings, and if so, what settings to use.
    Thank you!

The simplest method would have been to use one or more playlists to control what you sync to the iPod nano. You could then sync that same set of playlists to the new device. You cannot sync directly from one device to the other. All content is copied from iTunes. You may be able to export one or more XML playlists from the device, import those back into iTunes, and then add the playlists to your iPad.

  • How can I sync my Ipod on 2 different computers, one a macbook the other a PC laptop

Ive been syncing my ipod with my Macbook.  I would like to be able to sync it with my new Laptop PC (windows 7) also.  At the moment, there is a wifi network in my home.  This will change eventually as I will be moving.  How can I sync with both without losing my data?

iPods and other iOS devices can only sync to one iTunes library at a time. It is not possible to sync to two.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can you sync an iPad 2 to more than one computer.

I got a new ipad2. Can I sync it with my Mac at my house and also on my pc at work

You can authorize more than one computer with iTunes, but you have to maintain your iTunes library on one machine.  Otherwise, you'll have a syncing nightmare.  So, it's not advisable to sync to more than one computer as you'll be in a situation where you'll lose data from one machine to the next.  Come this fall when iOS 5 is released, you won't need to sync with a computer at all.  For the time being, I recommend you limit syncs to one computer.........

  • Sync with Leopard ical

Reading the requirements for the new iCal/MobileMe app, it says that Snow Leopard is required.  Does that mean that other computer on my network need to be running SL to access/sync with the new format?  I've been reading the support articles resolving initial problems I had, most were just that I didn't read the directions close enough - but all is well on my MobileMe Calendar and my SL MacBook Pro Calendar.  But I have an older G5 on my home network, Leopard 10.5.8, which can't have iCal upgraded on it, but was wondering if any problems syncing it with MobileMe would happen.  I hope this will resolve the duplicates in iCal that have plagued my iPhone 3GS for a long time (once I sync it).
Now I wish there was an easy way of cleaning out my Address Book Contacts so what is synced is usable.  Between AOL, Entourage (now Outlook) and I presume Mail, every mail address added to my contacts (especially the ones added when you accept incoming images and it's added to the contact list) has been syncing to my iPhone - making it almost useless.  Many mail lists, etc., have been put into it and I don't want them on my iPhone.
Oh, and kudos to Apple Support for articles on the iCal changes that helped me resolve my problems.  My main iCal, like I said, is on my MBPro and was having problems but it's all fixed now.  Hope the other devices do as well.
    Tom

iCal on Macs running Leopard cannot read the new MobileMe calendars until an additional process has been carried out, described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4330
As to Address Book: the entire contacts list will sync everywhere. You can't partially sync. The only way to remove the unwanted contacts is individual deletion, whereupon they will disappear from every device which is successfully syncing.

  • Can"t Sync calandars with iCal os 10.5.x and Palm 755P

No matter what I try the calandars won't sync. I have exported and re imported ical and address book databases, restarted the computer.
I am also using mark space. I have had it work before many months ago so I know it's possible.
I welcome any help. I am so frustrated.
Post relates to: Treo 755p (Verizon)

Click on the folder in the Finder's sidebar with the house icon, drag the folder named Library to the desktop, log out, and log back in. This can also be done with parts of the Library folder if you don't want to move the entire folder at once.

  • SE P1i can't sync with Leopard

    Hi all,
I have downloaded the plugin for the Sony Ericsson P1i 1.07, and installed it. But my phone does not sync with my MacBook or iMac all the same. My OS is leopard 10.5.2 & my phone version is R9K009.
What can I do? Please help me!
    Thank you!

    Chaps & chapettes.
    Sync´ing 10.5.2 with SE P1i finally works!!
I´ve had the same problems for weeks like all of you out there ´it seems your phone stopped the connections´, both with the SE official plugin and the purchased plugin from www.novamedia.de
The Germans at Novamedia did NOT give up, and the solution, today, is as simple as it is brilliant:
Unpair your Mightymouse & turn it off.
It is too Mighty for Leopard, and interfers with the sync.
I disabled the mouse, turned it of physically & have sync´ed my updated firmware P1i the whole evening.
    Happy.
    Cheers from cool Dubai

  • Can I sync a single iCal calendar only and not all my calendars?

I use iCal at work and at home. I have two calendars: work and family. I use my .Mac account to sync my two calendars between my home computer and work computer. While at work today I subscribed to several of my employees' iCal calendars so that we could coordinate our schedules. However, now those employee calendars are being sync'd to my home iCal.
Is there a way to continue using my .Mac account to sync my home and work calendars but not those of my employees??? Thanks in advance!
    Joe

Thanks for the thought. I just tried that and when I select .Mac in iSync it tells me I no longer use iSync to sync and it opens the .Mac preferences window. The .Mac preferences do not seem to allow specific calendars - just check whether you want "calendars" to sync....
    Is there another way?

  • Can't Sync IPad with ICal

I tried using MobileMe for about 1 day. I set everything up as I was instructed. After reading about issues people had with MobileMe, I decided not to continue to use it.
I "de-activated" it, thought everything was fine however now everytime I connect my Ipad and Iphone to my computer to sync through ITunes, the calendar info does not sync. Nothing transfers from my Mac ICal to my IPad or IPhone and nothing transfers from my "I" devices to the Mac.
Now what?! Any suggestions on how I might be able to get my devices to sync again?
    Thanks!
    Ehren

I want add to myself to the list of having this problem so hopefully apple will see it..iMac also , mobile me for two years and just started with last upgrade I was a beta user of the cal also

  • Icloud calendar can't sync with Mac iCal

"Serveren svarede med: "403"på handlingen CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation."
In english: "The server answered with: "403" in respons to the action  CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation"
What can I do? She uses Mac/iPhone and have an icloud-account

My OS calendar has many events marked. But the iCloud.com calendar is completely empty. Not even national holidays.

  • Can I sync x20 different Indesign set ups in one go?

Is it possible to manage and sync a whole company's Indesign workspaces from a single point? Currently, it has been set up so all individuals have their own login / password to Creative Cloud. However, we'd really like to be able to sync a MAIN unified workspace, a set of client colour palettes and new start up document presets. (Then people can customise their own space from this starting point).
Is it possible to do this via the cloud or is it through a manual update on every single machine (through library>indesign prefs)?

There are two ways of doing this, both quite easy:
    1) If you and your wife both have separate user accounts on your Mac, then you just set-up each phone in the relevant user account and choose the data to sync and off you go.
    2) If you and your wife share a single user account, you can set multiple phones up in iSync, and each phone can be set to sync a different Address Book group for Contacts, and different Calendars for iCal. Just click on the phones icon in iSync to set the syncing options.
My wife and I use the first option on our main Mac because there are many other benefits to having separate user accounts on the same Mac. All your personal preferences and settings can be set independently, your emails, contacts and other personal data can all be kept separate. You can then set up fast user switching to quickly switch between the two user accounts.
