Can I sync music from my phone to my laptop?

My laptop broke and i lost all the songs on my itunes, however, i still have the songs on my iphone. Is there a way I can put my songs from my iphone bacak onto my computer. This is very frustrating.

This is one of the many reasons that it has always been basic to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( music/pics/docs/files/etc.).
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have filed to do so ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases:
Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Otherwise, the music sync is one way - computer to iphone.

If you do not have a back up of the crashed hard drive you can download an app to copy from the iPhone to iTunes on the new hard drive.
I have used Pod2Mac.  There is also Pod2PC.
There are numerous choices, some free, some payed.  Do a Google search.

This is the most basic feature of the ipod.  You should really read the manual.
Open itunes, connect iphone, select what you want, sync.

how can i sync music from mac air to zen creative mp3 player

iTunes will only sync with Apple devices.  You may find when you plug in your player it appears on hte desktop as another drive.  You can drag files from iTunes to that drive.  You may need to then place them in a special folder but all this is something for you to research since players differ.  We use a Sansa Clip and a RCA player with our iTunes library and that how we do it.
Make sure your player can play the format files you have in your collection.  Our slightly older players will not play AAC which is the standard format used by the iTunes Store.  If you find that to be the case you will have to convert formats.

  • Can't sync music from Windows PC to iPad Retina

I've a newly purchased iPad Retina. Unfortunately I can't sync music from my Windows PC to iPad. I tried with the best practice, muisc appears with a cloud circle at the left most column in the device shown in the iTune. I'm puzzled as I'm an user of iPod and have never faced such problem earlier.

The cloud symbol means your music is in the cloud-not on the PC.
Download the music onto the PC,

Grrrr, this is annoying!  My library is on my iMac back in Belgium.  Now I am working in Tanzania for 2 months and want to download the free U2 album to my iPhone but cannot :-(
Is there no way I can upload the album without deleting all content on my phone?  Surely there must be a fix to upload legal content from multi libraries/PCs?

  • Can't sync music from iTunes 11 to iPhone 4 since getting iOS 6.1

    IPhone 4, iOS 6.1
Basically, plugged in my phone to put a new cd on, and as it started I noticed the 'other' bar was huge and iTunes was saying my phone was 6gb over capacity and was still trying to sync apps I'd deleted a month before, so stopped the process thinking it was damaging my phone.
I then, thinking the phone had backed up, deleted all pictures to make some space and tried to sync again. The same happened.
Next I decided to update the iOS to 6.1 and try again. This is when I started not being able to syncs anything. Music, film, photos, tv shows, nothing.
The sync will start and the phone capacity bar shows will show how much space will be taken up and the sync skips to the end and nothing has been synced. In iTunes in the music view under devices on tje left the files are greyed out with the sync in progress icon next to them.
I have also got a 'connection has been list to the iPhone' error message which I really don't understand as they are connected via USB and the phone is still mounted in iTunes.
Since then I have tried every different connotation of settings through iTunes to no avail. I've backup and restored, I've restored to a new phone but with no results at all.
I have read 20 or discussions on The Apple forums and it seems that loads of slightly different solutions have worked for lots of different people and I also know many people are completely unaffected by this, but I use my phone more as an iPod than phone.
It's proper frustrating, especially when Apple release a software update for iPhone 4S users but not iPhone 4 owners.
Oh and today it also seemed to be flakey in terms 3G connections.
Oh and since Christmas I haven't been able to use home sharing as it won't finish connecting, it just stops!

    Everything is Sorted!
The release of iTunes 11.0.2 and iOS 6.1.2 for my iPhone 4, seems to have sorted everything. I can now sync music, films and photos between my MacBook and my phone.
I was dubious about blindly doing the updates but decided they couldn't really mess up any further functionality so I went for it and it's sorted now.
Look in to, and take the gamble, it's up to you.

  • IOS6.1: Can't sync music from another computer?

Previously on 5.1.1 this worked just fine, no I seem to be having problems. Has Apple updated allowances across multiple computers?
I sync and backup my phone to MacBook Pro 1. From here I maintain my iPhone and sync some photos. I sync music from MacBook Pro 2 by dragging and dropping. Manually manage music & videos is checked on both computers when iPhone is plugged in. Both MB Pros are almost the same spec and same OS.
Problem is, when I plug the iphone back into MacBook Pro 1 after adding music from MacBook Pro 2 it removes all the tracks I have synced?
Anyone managing to still do this or has something changed in iOS6.1? Or am I missing something in iTunes 10?

I discovered that my MB Pro 2 had been deauthorized from my iTunes account. Re-authorized and works just fine!

  • Can you sync music from windows windows media

I synced music from windows media player onto my ipod nano. Windows media says it's all downloded but none of the songs show up on my ipod. Why is that? Can you not sync music from windows media player even though windows media player lets you?

    Hi,
You probably have your nano's disk-use enabled. This enables you to use your iPod as an external disk. Windows Media Player does sync music, but it only transfer it to the iPod as normal data file you put into it, which iPod Nano will not show the songs in the player, but if you access the iPod from My Computer, you might able to see the files.
Meanwhile, iPod only read and understands files that synced into it by using iTunes. The songs are renamed and put into the iPod filesystem hiddenly. If the above information contains errors, please correct me.
    Regards,
    Siau.

  • Can't sync music from CD's to iphone

I'm new to this but followed the tutorial to load music from my CD onto itunes.  It did it fine, but after syncing it to my iphone my phone still says I don't have any content when I click the ipod icon on my phone.

Alright, if you loaded music from a CD to iTunes and then connected the iPhone, you need to make sure that syncing music is selected before you sync. That, or you can select manually manage music and click and drag songs over to the iPhone. Check with the manual here http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPhone_iOS4_User_Guide.pdf and see if that helps you out. Come back if you need more.
Or, try this Apple Support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351
