Can I sync my 3G iphone w Palm Treo 650 to transfer my contact info?
I have a Palm Treo 650 with about 2000 contacts , loaded with info. Any way to directly sync that with my new 3G iphone, or by way of my PC? My desktop computer is a PC with Windows XP pro. I have palm desktop and am using MS Outlook for my emails. Thanks.

About a week ago, my sync stopped working for my G4 and palm treo 650. the hotsync works via bluetooth and there are no errors. When I look at my contacts and calendar, no events or contacts have been imported for the past week or so.
I downloaded the latest palm update for 650 and tiger, still nothing.
Any suggestionsFigured it out and it wasn't fun. I watched the console messages as I deleted groups and tried to sync with Mobile Me until no error msg was displayed. Then I restored AB from a back up and proceeded to delete contacts one at a time and check for errors until none were displayed. After deleting about half my contacts under the one group I finally found the one contact. I then did another AB restore, deleted the troubled contact, sync'd fine, then did another backup. I have no idea why that one contact was the problem as everything looked fine. Console msgs only showed a silly number as the contact, not the name, which is why I had to go through all this. But...it's fixed.

No you don't. You log into iTunes with your Apple ID but you can use one Apple ID for iTunes and a different Apple ID for iCloud. On your device go:
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account and sign in with a new Apple ID
This will only change the Apple ID for iCloud and both devices will continue to download apps and backup to the shared iTunes account. -

Since I'd installed the new version of iTunes, iCal and Address book do not sync with my iPhone 3GS through iTunes anymore and I get an error message stating that iTunes can not sync with this iPhone. Was must i do to correct this issue and if i must, how dI reintall iTunes without loosing my content?

I can't sync my iPhone and back up my data with my computer because iTunes says to enter the passcode into my iPhone to unlock it, but I am unable to unlock and enter in my passcode on my iPhone because the screen is shattered. I have my replacement iPhone with me and I'm not going to activate it until I can sync/get the data from my broken iPhone. I have the envelope to send my broken iPhone back to the Verizon store or whatever so that's not a problem. I just can't sync my old iPhone with my computer.

Now I have a few more questions: If I mail my broken iPhone to Asurion, will I be able to get my data off of my iPhone once Asurion has it? And what will happen to my old iPhone and the data on it if I activate my replacement iPhone? Will my broken iPhone just become de-activated and will the data be erased or lost or something? Could I still sync it (with the computer ir originally synced with) and back up the data?

You can get Leopard 10.5 by calling the Apple Online store.
Tell them you purchased a new iPhone and need 10.5 because you have a PPC Mac and cannnot run 10.6.. -

To sync with iPhone's calendar (also called iCalendar) you need to use a cloud-based calendar. If you already have lightning, install the Google Provider addon and setup Google Calendar. If you have already done that, go to settings on your iPhone. In the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars area, add your Google account, and turn on Calendar. This will sync your Google Calendar with the iPhone.

when trying to sync my iPhone i get a message saying : iTunes can't sync apps to iPhone because the apps installed on the phone could not be determine. what is going on?
I received the same error message after I had recently updated iTunes to 10.5.1 and I had wirelessly updated 13 apps. I had to go into iTunes and select Apps, on the bottom right it said I needed to update 13 apps. I updated the apps via iTunes and then synced again without an issue.

You can sync as many devices as you like to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep it all straight by device, including separate backups.

You are correct. Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases. You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.

In the meanwhile, a MobileMe account (which you can't get anymore if you don't already have one) or a Gmail account will do the trick. Exchange will also work, but you'd already know that if you had it available.
Until iCloud is available, I'd recommend getting a free Google Mail (Gmail) account and enabling it for Mail and Calendars. Both your iPhone and your iPad will sync with it automatically.
As an alternative, look at the free Wunderlist, which you can access on your iOS devices with a dedicated app, on the web, and even on a Mac app from the Mac App Store. The apps and service are free, and it's had great reviews. Strictly speaking, it's a to-do app, but it has decent "calendar" functions. -
