Can I Sync My iPod on Two Computers?

I have two computers (Windows) with my account. My main one has a USB issue, so I upgraded to iOS5 on the other. Is there still a way to wirelessly sync to my main computer? My iPod is looking for the secondary computer and thus is not seeing my main one. Thanks!

Is there at least a way to change which computer it syncs with without a USB cable. I figured with iOS 5 and iCloud I could sync to my laptop wirelessly, but I guess it doesn't work if the music I have isn't from iTunes. (Most of mine is, so that's good, but not all.)

    Once I homeshare all my computers, can I sync my ipod with any of them?  Or do I always have to sync using the same computer.

    What kind of iPod do you have?
    For most iPods you can click Manually manage music on the summary page in iTunes. Check out Apple's document -> Using iPad or iPod with multiple computers.

  • Can I sync one iPhone via two computers (MacBook and Windows XP) using iTunes?

    My idea is the following:
    Sync one iPhone using iTunes installed on two computers:
    from Windows XP:
    * Outlook 2010 contacts
    * Outlook 2010 calendar
    * music
    from MacBook:
    * contacts
    OR
    from Windows XP:
    * Outlook 2010 contacts
    * Outlook 2010 calendar
    from MacBook:
    * contacts
    * music
    Can I do this?
    How would I have to do the set-up?
    Additional question: Can I buy apps from iTunes App Store on either of the two computers and having them downloaded automatically on the iPhone?

    You can't. You can only sync with one library at a time. I is possible, though not recommended, to sync contacts with one computer and media with another. There is no way to sync contacts with more than one computer.
    The best idea would be to sync it with your MacBook and the cloud, and sync Outlook on the PC with the cloud.
    Since iCloud requires Windows 7, you would probably be best to sync contacts and calendars with Google or Yahoo.

  • Can i use one ipod on two computers?

    Can anyone help me please?
    My son has ipod shuffle and has a separate itunes account, but before he got an ipad for his birthday, we set up itunes on my home computer, using my itunes account.
    His account has lots of credit whereas mine now doesn't as we have to use my account to purchase his music!
    We need to know if it's possible for him to purchase music from his itunes account either directly from his ipad or from my computer using his itunes a/c and ipod. A friend told him that he can't use his ipod on another account as it would wipe out his songs. Is this correct?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

    I think you need to manually update on at least the computer that has the smaller music selection.
    it may be best to turn off automatic updates on both machines and manually add and delete songs.
    or you could network both computers to share one music library

  • Can I sync IPhoto albums between two computers via ICloud?

    I have some pictures on my MacBook Pro, and some on my desktop.  Other than offloading to a hard drive and trying to duplicate the two drives, is there a way to create albums and have them show up on both computers via the cloud??

    brettjbyers
    No you cannot sync an iPhoto library between two macs. If you do you will corrupt the iPhoto Library file. iPhoto is a consumer level app, and this feature is not supported.
    What you can do is share the photos but not the library. Each machine will need to have it's own library file.
    The easiest way to do it this is to enable sharing (in the iPhoto Preferences) on both machines (one sharing the library, the other looking for the share). When you do this the shared library will appear in the Source (or left-hand) pane and pics can be dragged from that to the library in the other machine.

  • Can i sync my ipod on two different laptops?

    My old lap died and I want to sync ipod to a different laptop that I use this a different ipod, ipad and iphone. I don't want to delete the contents of this ipod to do this. Any advice appreciated.

    If you have a backup of your dead laptop's data, copy the contents of its iTunes Library into the iTunes Library of your "different" laptop.
    Otherwise, you can take a look at tools like Senuti to transfer your media from your ipod to the "different" laptop. There are many other useful tools like Senuti; some work just as well and are even free.

  • Can you synch your ipod to two computers? and if so how do you do it?

    I have an Ipod that I originally used on one computer. I now want to also set it up using my laptop. Can I do that and if so how do I do that? I signed on my itunes using the same log in and when i plugged in my Ipod and it didnt even recognize that i had an ipod plugged into my computer in my itunes

    You can sync to one computer at a time.
    When you sync to another it will delete the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
    That would have nothing to do with it it not recognizing the device.

  • Can you sync one iPhone to two computers?

    I usually sync my iPhone to an iMac where I download new apps, keep my music, etc. But when I'm not at home I have a MacBook and I want to use its iTunes (same account) to download apps instead of using iPhone battery to do that. Can I do it without messing up?
    I also have an iCloud account, if that helps.
    Another question, probably related:
    What's the purpose of WiFi sync if you have to use the cable? Does a WiFi sync update the computer or the iCloud?
    thanks

    I sync each of my iOS devices to two different Macs. I haven't had any problems syncing apps and backups of each device to both Macs. Both copies of iTunes are logged in under the same iCloud account, so there's no conflict with the list of authorized apps. I would not attempt this if each iTunes was logged into a different account.
    If you want to sync anything else, you could get into trouble real fast. You need to be very aware of the different sync categories across the top in iTunes. For example, you can sync photos to one computer and podcasts to another, as long as you never turn on the same category on both Macs because that will cause each computer to overwrite the other's data. But since you said you don't want to sync music or photos, that shouldn't be a problem for you.
    WiFi sync exists so that you don't have to grab a cable just to do a sync. It's convenient, but it's a lot slower than cable sync.

    It's probably more accurate to say that iOS devices are designed to sync with only one account.

    My iPad is synced to one computer and I have various songs on a different computer. Is there a way to get these songs on my iPad without erasing any data. I have lots of songs that I got off cd's on my iPad and I dont want to lose these. Thanks!

    Put all of the music on one computer.
    The ipad will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.

  • How many different computers can i sync my ipod to and transfur music from?

    how many different computers can i sync my ipod to and transfur music from? i am trying to sync my ipod to another laptop and add my music to that computer but i was wondering if there was a limit on how many computers you can do that with. thanks all.

    You can authorize up to five computers for your iTunes purchases.
    If manually managing your device you can add content from any library.
    If automactially syncing content is managed from one library.
    Purchased content can be transfered from a device into an authorised library, otherwise iTunes only transfers content to the device.

    How many different computers can I sync my iPod with?  My laptop crashed and was completely wiped clean and this was the machine that my iPod synced with so I don't know if it will be counted as a "new" computer when I sync my iPod.

    You can sync with onee at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
    Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

    There is no Info tab in Mavericks
    if you use OS X v.10.8.5 or earlier. If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com.
