Can I sync PDF files between my iPhone and iPad?

Can I sync PDF files between my iPhone and iPad?

Yes, and we will have integration with our Mobile Readers as well. We've already submitted to Apple for review, and will be live once they complete their review and approval.
With this, we'll allow you to share files pretty easily between Desktop, Tablet and Phone across all OSes...and when you make changes, we'll automatically bring them to and from your phone/tablet! Pretty cool.

Make sure they are both using iOS 5 or higher, then go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create the account and turn on the data you want to sync with iCloud.

Yes, you can. Just add files to iTunes library (FILE > ADD FILES TO LIBRARY....) and they will appear under Books library.
Connect you device, select the Books tab, and make sure those books or pdf you want them over are being checked, then click the SYNC button on the lower right window.

A razmee209 said, set up your email in settings on both devices.
iPhone email will always be up to date.
The iPad will update when it has internet connection.   If it is a wifi only iPad, it will only update when connected to wifi, but will do so automatically.

  • Can icloud sync an app between 2 iphones and an ipod?

I was wondering if the icloud can sync an app between 2 iphones and an ipod under the same ID

Yes per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 setup iCloud on all devices under the same account and backup to the cloud. If its two iPhones, are they both one owner? If not,it's best to not setup iCloud on a device that is not the same owner.

  • Can I use home sharing between my iPhone and iPad? Or do I need to use a computer?

I want to use home sharing between my iPhone and Ipad. So I can use the remote app. But I can't get it to work

You can use it to share the library on your computer to the iPad, not the other way around.
On the computer, set up homesharing in the advanced menu. On the iPad go to settings > music.

  • How can I backup my files on an iPhone and iPad? I have a PC, not a MAC computer.

I would like to backup the files on my iPhone and iPad. I usually back them up on a regular PC and external hard drive (a WD My Passport). I do not have a MAC computer.

iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad back up to iTunes on your PC, or to iCloud.
See this Apple document for more information about iOS backups:

  • How can I easily sync and share pdf files between my laptop and iPad?

I frequently download pdf documents on my laptop, from websites, emails, etc, and would like to drop them into a folder which then syncs with my iPad so that I can read them later.  Is there a way to do this, an app, etc, so that the iPad could access the documents.  I expect this to either be an on-the-air automatic synch or a Cloud based solution where both laptop and iPad synch to the cloud folder.

    Hi lenpan,
I use Dropbox and it works great. Its a cloud solution so while your iPad doesn't automatically "sync" it can always read from the cloud and you can set files to be available offline.
First sign up for a free Dropbox account from your computer.
Then, download the free Dropbox app on your iPad.
You can then set up a folder on your computer to drag your documents to. This folder syncs with the Dropbox server. The Dropbox app on your iPad can read from your account on Dropbox so you have access to everything that you dragged from your computer to Dropbox. You can also set files on your iPad to be available offline.
    Hope this answers your question!

  • Can I turn off file sharing on iPhone and iPad?

Got an iPad for work recently to store all of my secure PDF documents on.  These PDF's contain lots of sensitive and high security information.
The other day I was messing around with it and discovered that the iPad could be plugged into any computer with iTunes and all of my files could be downloaded using the file sharing part of the program.  I have searched and searched and searched, but cannot find any way to disable file sharing on my iPad at all.
So I have 2 questions.  First of all, can I disable file sharing on my iPad?  And Secondly, if I can't disable it, does anyone know an app that I can use to manage folders of PDF files that doesn't use file sharing?
    Any help is appreciated!

Which program includes such a file sharing option?
Do you making use of the iPad's Passcode Lock feature especially with having such sensitive and high security info included with these PDF files?
Using the Passcode Lock prevents the iPad from being synced with iTunes on any other computer and from transferring data from or to the iPad with iTunes on any other computer other than the computer used for syncing your iPad.

  • Can I sync an audiobook between my iPod and iPad?

I am trying to sync an audiobook I have on both my iPod and iPad.  Can this be done?

I purchased the audiobook from audio.com. The audiobook is on my computer in iTunes so I was able to put the audiobook on both my iPod and iPad. What I am trying to do is listen to the book from either device and be able to pick up where I left off...for example, chapter 12. Is there a way that can happen perhaps by having both devices connected to the computer/ iTunes at the same time?  I can connect both devices and iTunes recognizes both devices.  I was hoping that it would sync both devices to last page read.  Is that possible?  As for now I manually fast forwarded each device to the same spot where I left off.  Hope this makes sense.  Giles's what I want is for both devices to know where the other left off.  It works like that with the kindle and iPod.  Thanks for any information.  I wast as detailed in my first post.

  • How can I sync my downloaded cds to iphone and ipad?

I used to be able to transfer all my music from computer to ipad, but much of it is gone, mostly the downloaded cds, but also much of my purchased tunes. I could not get it to iphone either now. I have all the proper things checked, but it does not work

I've done that a hundred times and it used to bring all my music over, but it does not do it anymore, only a few come over. If the newer was in the directions I would have found it that way

  • Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine, tried solutions from other threads with no luck, just thought i'd see if anyone else had any ideas, thanks.

Hi all, i can't sync over wifi between my iPhone 4 and Windows 7 64 bit, wifi sync works with the same phone and my Windows 8 machine so the problem seems confined to Windows 7. I've tried solutions from other threads -
Making sure everything is allowed through firewall
    Rebooting phone/laptop/router
    Disabling ipv6
Disabling all networks except the one curently on
    Re-installing iTunes
    Restoring iPhone
No luck with any of those unfortunately so i just thought i'd see if anyone else is still without wifi sync after trying those as well and if you ever found a fix, thanks.

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

  • How can I share photos between my iphone and ipad?

I want to automatically share photos between my iPhone and iPad.  I use iCloud and I setup Photo Stream but my photos are not moving from one device to the other. My goal is to have all my photos on both devices- automatically. How can I accomplish this?
    Thank you!

Photos will Not go between iPad & iPhone..they have to go thro' iCloud as a provider or sync via your computer individually...you need Wireless on both or a direct USB connection..
On each iPad and iPhone you can initialize via the Summary/Photos when they are connected via iTunes..

  • I recently had to send my old iPhone back and get a new one. When I did, I simply did a restore and backup with my computer. When I did that, my iMessage between my iPhone and iPad are no synced,

I recently had to send my old iPhone back and get a new one. When I did, I simply did a restore and backup with my computer. When I did that, my iMessage between my iPhone and iPad are no longer synced. No matter how many times I went to settings, messages and adjusted it, my iPad and iPhone recognize when I send a message out but not when I received a message from another IMessage user to my iPhone. My iPad simply doesn't get those messages. HELP!!!!

If it's corrupt, generally it would be lost.
However, there is third-party software out there that can retrieve some of the data, those of which however I could not recommend as I have never done so myself.
Also, if the old 4S was running a more recent software version than the current 4S, that may cause the issue however usually iTunes tells you exactly that.
Good luck in retrieving that information.
