Can I sync reminders to my macbook without using iCloud?

Having issues syncing my reminders from my iphone to my macbook pro without using iCloud, can this be done?

I don't believe there is an option to sync reminders direct with iCal via the iTunes sync process.
What is the problem doing this with iCloud?

  • Can i install snow leopard on Macbook without using Time Machine?

Hi, I've backed up my files using SuperDuper and made 2 copies of my data on 2 usb sticks. Do I also need to use Time Machine to back up my files aswell, in order to update osx and install snow leopard?? If I've already got my 2 copies of my files on usb sticks, isn't that enough backing up? Any suggestions will be appreciated thanks!

Thanks for answering, so did you manage to upgrade your mac with snow leopard without using time machine? I'd just like to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
To clear up some possible confusion, you don't need any backups (Time Machine or otherwise) to upgrade a Mac from an earlier OS version to Snow Leopard. To do that, just follow Apple's instructions to launch the "Install OS X" app on the Snow Leopard DVD, which upgrades the OS to Snow Leopard without changing your user settings, erasing or changing your user files, & so on. It is an easy process & generally works quite well.
The backup(s) are in case something goes wrong, which is unlikely but not impossible. You should regularly be backing up at least your important user files to an external device whether or not you upgrade ("important" meaning anything you can't afford to lose) since hard drives can fail without warning or other calamities might destroy some or all of the data on them.
At upgrade time, bootable clones like SuperDuper! makes are especially good insurance against any unforeseen upgrade problems: if something goes wrong you can just clone back to the internal drive & return to the pre-upgrade state, without having to hassle with installing anything.

  • How do I sync iPhone and Mac contacts (without using icloud)?

    Hi,
The option to directly sync my iphone contacts with my Mac's seem to have disappeared from iTunes. Given that I haven't (and don't want to) upload my contacts to apple's icloud servers, how can I do a simple synchronization?
    Thanks,
    MIke

I believe it is. I'm not a Mac user, but if you were to search the forum, there have been a number of threads regarding Mavericks and syncing, so a search of those terms will more than likely yield results that discuss the server information. I remember reading information, but since it did not pertain to me, I did not retain enough.

I have installed Lion (10.7.3) on my iMac.  I have attempted to enable iCloud on my iMac, my iPhone (4S), and new iPad.  I am unable to sync my iMac with my iPhone or my new iPad.  I am able to sync my iPhone with my iPad and vice versa via iCloud.

when using multiple computers you will be asked if you want to erase because the iphone is meant to be used with one library.

  • Syncing contacts with iTunes without using iCloud

Since the new iTunes Version 11.1.3 it seems not possible to sync contacts, browser bookmarks and other things via WLAN sync. I don't want to see my contacts on Apple servers in order to be synced via iCloud.
Is there any possibility to sync an iPhone with iTunes without using iCloud. I'm quite angry Apple not leaving the decision on how to sync my iPhone up to me.

  • How can I sync reminders with Google ?

OSX Mountain Lion and iOS experts : how can I sync Reminders on my iPhone with Google (Tasks?) ?
In Mountain Lion : I can choose Google as the Reminder account, although nothing is sync'ing.
And in iOS, it's even worse : I can't even choose Google for reminders (only iCloud).
So why would I not use iCloud then on both devices (desktop and iOS)? Well, because I'd like to use Google as the calendar (for sharing purposes with non-iCloud users) and apparantly, it's not possible to link reminders to iCloud without also linking your calendar to iCloud?!  (It's one single item in Mountain Lion in the iCloud settings : "Calenders & Reminders").
    Am I missing something?
    Many thanks,
    Kris

Cheers for that BikeMystery. So yeah, if you mainly use Google Services then the only way to get Reminders and Notes syncing between OSX ML and your iOS deviceis to activate Notes and Reminders under iCloud and create an @me address and an iCloud calendar. That's a bit pants really.
If you do have an Exchange or Yahoo! account set up in Mail, Contacts & Calendars does that allow Notes & Reminders to sync with iOS without iCloud?

  • Can i sync my iPad and iPhone without hooking it up to a computer

can i sync my ipad and iphone without hooking it up to a computer

That all depends on what you mean by sync. If you want to share iTunes content such as music, apps and videos, then yes, they both must be logged in to the same iTunes store account.
If you want to sync contacts, calendars, notes and reminders, again the answer is yes, you just need to sync them to the same iCould account.
For non-iTunes music there's iTunes Match.
To sync photos there' Photo Stream.
It there something else you want to sync that I have missed?

How can i sync my calendar in Outlook 2007 with iTunes 11.1.3.8 WITHOUT using iCloud?

your link shows how to sync, i know how to do that.
i specifically wanted to sync my outlook calendar with my phone, not my outlook calendar with icloud calendar.
apparently you have to go into setup on phone and tell phone not to sync calendars with icloud so you can get choice to sync phone via itunes.
    thanks anyways for trying.

  • I am brand new to the Ipad.  I can't use ICloud unless I upgrade my 10.5 Leopard.  Is there a way to sync documents created in Pages to the IPad without using ICloud?

Hello.  I am a newbie to the Ipad.  I am currently working with an OS 10.5 Leopard MAC.  I understand that in order to use ICloud I would need to purchase OSX Snow Leopard and OSX Lion.  I am attempting to avoid the expense and to the extent possible sync my IPad with my MAC.  I have created documents on my MAC in pages.  Is there a way to have access to those documents on the IPad without using ICloud.
A second question concerns web browsing, sometimes you'll open up a page or image and not know how to go back to the previous page. So do I just close and reopen safari altogether or is there another way to get to the previous page.
Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Actually you can use iCloud with the Mac running OS X 10.5.8. You don't sync the documents - you upload to or download them from iCloud.
You can open a browser on your Mac - Safari is preferred - log into icloud.com, enter your username and password, click on the iWorks icon, click on the Pages section at the top - and then you can drag documents into the browser window to upload files - and you can select a file in the cloud to download to the Mac. I do this on my iMac at work running Tiger 10.4.11. It's kind of slow - and you will get a warning that you may be using a supported browser - but it works.
In any event, you can use iOS file sharing to send the Pages docs to your iPad. you have to connect to the Mac and do this via iTunes.
iWork for iOS: About iTunes File Sharing
Just tap the arrows in the toolbar in Safari to go back and forth. You can open multiple pages using tabs. tap on the + sign to add another tab in Safari.
