Can I sync the itunes account on my iMac and my Air?

I have uploaded all my music onto my iMac but i have reciently bought an air, is there a way to make all the music and videos on my iMac available to the air? Is there a way to sync itunes over cloud
With everything on my Mac working over iCloud to my iPad I was hoping there would be a way of syncing my music too... I dont have half of the CD's I origionally uploaded to my iMac 4 years ago but I want to be able to lissen to them on other macs.

Whilst you are on the same network you can use Home Sharing (iTunes>Preferences>Sharing tab) to share the content on your Mac with the Air.
For getting your iTunes content on all your devices have a look here, under the iTunes Everywhere heading: http://www.apple.com/itunes/what-is/

  • How can I sync my mail folders from my iMac and MacBook Air

I recently bought the new iMac and MacBook Air. I would like to access my emails on both computers. I have folders that sort my mail on both computers but cannot access them on the other computer. Thanks for your help!

What kind of email account do you have? (Who is it with?) The easiest way to do what you want is with an IMAP account, which actually stores folders on the email server, allowing any computer or device to see them. You cannot do the same with the older POP email accounts. Check whether your email provider offers IMAP.

  • HT1203 Can I share one iTunes account for my iPad and two I phones? If so, how can I get the purchased apps and music on all three devices? Do I need a home computer,

Can I share one iTunes account for my iPad and two I phones? If so, how can I get the purchased apps and music on all three devices? How do I sync all the devices to have the same music and apps?

You can set up an iCloud account on each one (the SAME iCloud account using the same AppleID on each) and then sync via iCloud.

However, an iCloud backup nor sync contains purchased content - that is available for redownload from the iTunes and App stores (so no need to waste iCloud space storing it for you).
So, for purchased content, you will have to download it on each device - just use the same AppleID and download each item on each device.
Without a computer to aid the sync'ing, downloading the purchased content on each device is the only way.
P.S  audiobooks cannot be re-downloaded once purchased (all other content can be), so without a computer to save, store and move the audiobook files around, you will only be able to put those on one device - the one you first purchase it on.

Can I use one itunes account for multiple users and multiple devices?

The iTunes EULA, as I understand it (I'm not an attorney )for Apps is basically that one person can use an App multiple devices, or multiple people can use an App one device..so one to many or many to one, but not many to many....

An iOS device can only be synced with one iTunes library.

  • My IPad is not being recognized by iTunes on my computers (IMac and MacBook Air)

My IPad is not appearing in ITunes on my computers (IMac and MacBook Air). Troubleshooting didn't help. USB works fine. Cord works when I am charging. IPad is not showing on my computer and not charging from it.

  • Can I sync my itunes account with an external hard drive to save memory on my computer?

I have a computer with limited space, so I transferred my itunes library to an external hard drive.  Now my problem is syncing my itunes account on my computer with my itunes library on the external hard drive.  Can someone explain how to sync these two up?

When iTunes launches it looks for a iTunes Library .XML file in your Music/iTunes Folder, if it's not there, then it creates one.
So you got the entire iTunes Folder on the powered external drive (you also should have a backup someplace too)
Now launch iTunes and then quit it.
Look in your external drive iTunes Folder for a iTunes Library .XML file, copy that and replace the new one in your iTunes Folder on your boot drive.
Now open this .XML file in a Text program that has "Find and Replace" ability, you have to take all the old pathnames to your content and replace them with the new pathname.
    For instance \Windows\Users\Mark\Music\iTunes Folder
should now be something like this:
    \DriveB\MusicFolder\iTunes Folder
Get the idea? your replacing all the partial pathnames to match the new drive.
You need to have the external drive mounted and ready, then launch iTunes which will look for the .XML file in your boot drive >iTunes Folder, then when you click to play a song, instead of it finding it in your boot drive iTunes Folder, it's in your external drive iTunes Folder.

  • How can I change the iTunes account on a used computer

I puchased a used laptop and need to change the itunes account.

Go to the Store menu in iTunes and choose "Deauthorize this Computer".
Then you'll have to go back to the same menu and choose "Authorize this Computer".
Of course, this might delete any purchases made from this account and delete them from your iTunes library.

  • Can I have an iTunes account in my Mac and another in Parallels?

I download books from my local library and a small number of the books are in mp3 format; however, many more are in wma format, for PC. I tried the following: I opened Parallels and downloaded the Overdrive Media software for PC and then successfully downloaded a book. However, when I put my iPod in, it could not be recognized by OverDrive Media for pc, even though the iPod happens to be formatted for PC. The only way for me to get this book out of there seems to be to make 31 CDs and then import them all into iTunes on the Mac, but that is not an appealing option. Would it be possible for me to download iTunes in Parallels and get the files into that and then onto my iPod? If so, would I need to establish a different iTunes account? I would want to use the same name and credit card number, obviously. If this is possible, would it cause any problems with the iTunes account in the Mac side of the computer? By the way, I do NOT sync my files, since I like to keep different things on my iPod and in my iTunes.
Thanks for any help you can provide. Barbara

Yes, you can download iTunes for Windows using Parallels. If planning on making purchases here and/or authorizing already purchased tracks (from your Mac iTunes library), you are permitted to authorize five (5) computers as per iTunes Store terms of use, regardless of computing platform. No need to create a separate new iTunes Store account.
However, judging from what you would like to do, your best bet would be to convert the WMAs to AAC/MP3 in iTunes-Windows (iTunes-Mac cannot import WMA files), and drag the files from the Parallels window to your desktop to add to the iTunes-Mac library. (as the iPod itself is currently linked to your iTunes-Mac library)
    Hope this helps,
    Steve

  • A problem to sync emails in Mail app between iMac and Macbook Air

    Hello members,
I have had a problem that can't sync emails in Mail app(OSX Mavericks) betwee iMac and Macbook Air. I have iCloud mail account and several Gmail accounts on the mail app.
Is there anyone to help me?

When both are at home on the same network and sharing drives, you can use a variety of tools.  Check the App store for fily syncronization.  Also, OS X includes rsync if you are a UNIX command line person, and there are shareware GUI's for rsync as well (RsyncX was one I remember).  Then there are commercial tools like Chronosync.
Another, albeit to my mind cumbersome way, is to use an airport time capsule and time machine.  You use TM to backup each machine, and use the option in TM to browse another TM backup to restore from (eg. come home from a trip, backup the MacBook Air, then log on to the iMac, browse to the MBA backup volume and restore what you recently worked on from there).
Or get a NAS device for home and use that as a common personal form of dropbox.  The key would be keeping a neat uniform directory structure for the things you need sync'd - like maybe just the Documents folder & subfolders.

  • How can i delete the itunes account

i have just recently created mt itunes account not to download music but to use it to download my free digital copy dvd and upload it to itunes for free. and i have used the codes for the dvd but when it downloads when it finishes it disappears and i can't watch it or find it or use the codes again because it can only be used once. it's faulty on itunes not the codes. so it's pointless to me. because i can't use the codes again. so can you delete the account since i won't buy anything anymore. i only wanted digital coppies. and i want all my personal card details deleted so no one can hack it or use my name
    thank you
    ethan shi

Take your credit card information out and stop using the account.  Simple as that.
You are not addressing Apple here.  We are all itunes users like you.
