Can I track opens and clicks on links in my emails?

I sometimes send emails which contain a number of web links.
Am I able to track:
who opens their email?
which links they click on?
(like I do in Mailchimp)

Thunderbird works to enhance user privacy, not invade it. So no those privacy invading techniques use by web marketers are not supported and where possible actively thwarted.

The only way I can open a link in a new tab is if I right click a link and select "open in a new tab" in the dropdown menu, but ctrl + click is so much easier and faster. Any clue how to fix this?

Some other users have fingered the Ask toolbar as the cause of this problem. You can try disabling or removing it here:

Firefox 32.0.1 installed on my Mac OS 10.6.8 and links from Mail no longer open. Click a link and Firefox opens, but the link doesn't appear or activate.

Some users have a similar problem to this, but if FireFox is already open the link from their mail client will activate in FireFox. For me, once I click a link in an email, FireFox immediately becomes the active application, but nothing further happens. FireFox has been the default browser for ages, but I stopped that, and set Safari as the default. Then quitting and re-opening FireFox I re-established it as the default browser, but the problem persists.

It amuses me that the email that was sent to confirm the posting of this question had a clickable link. Naturally that link did not work. Cutting and pasting it into FireFox allowed me to complete the posting process. Annoying.

HT200250 I couldn't open the files from a Canon XF 300 so I downloade the plugin from Apple but still can't open the files. I opened and clicked on the installer icon. I'm not sure the plugin was actually installed. can anyone help?

As you probably know the Canon plug-in enables Log & Transfer in FCP7. I'm not sure whether it works with Final Cut Express or not.
Look in Applications>Canon Utilities. I'm running 10.6 as well and that is where it's located on my machine.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the + box". Is that a feature on one of your toolbars?

Why can't TextEdit open more than 5 links at a time in Yosemite?

Why can't TextEdit open more than 5 links at a time in Yosemite? In the previous OS, I could highlight many links at a time, right click and then select "Open URL" to open the links in Safari. Now, if I select more than five links at a time (and sometimes with five links) it will only open the first five and TextEdit pops up with the alert, "The 'Open URL' service could not be used."
I'm running 10.10.1 on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009), 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 500 GB HD.
TextEdit is Version 1.10 (319).

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Can you track source of clicks on the "clickable" icons or track links in Dreamweaver? I know about Google analytics for a page body but don't know for clicks.

It's called "event tracking".
Here I will use Google Analytics and jQuery to record click event from any element with the class "clickable".

Any tracking code should provide you with event tracking method. You can also write your own - I'd use AJAX call.

Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though.

for TextMate, you’ll need to download TextMate 2.0 alpha, since earlier versions of TextMate aren’t supported on Mavericks. The file will be named “nightly”; save it to your desktop. Once the “nightly” file has finished downloading, rename it to “TextMate.app.tar.bz2” — that will give it the “BZ” icon on your desktop. Once it’s been renamed, you can double-click on it, and TextMate.app will appear on your desktop. Use your administrative login to move TextMate.app to your Applications folder.
Regarding the “unidentified developer” message displayed by trying to open git 1.8.4.2, please refer to this Apple page for the workaround.

For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. If you set up "find my iphone" and it is powered on with an internet connection you can go to icloud.com and use find my iphone there or on another iOS device download the Find my iPhone app.
