Can I transfer everything from PowerBook G4 to MacBook Air?

Tried getting a straight answer from calling Apple but got someone who was surprisingly clueless and confused so trying here. Thinking of buying a new MacBook Air, the version just previous to latest one just out. I am simply wondering if it's possible to transfer everything, about 17GB, from my old PowerBook G4 with v10.3.9, to the MacBook Air. There are so few ports on the Air that I am concerned I won't be able to. Last time I did this I used firewire I think? when moving everything from an old G3 powerbook and it worked great. Thanks!
Sorry for duplication of this. Typing on a iPad and I guess I accidentally hit return instead of shift key and not having an edit or delete feature here *****.

In what form is the installation? Bootcamp or VM(virtual machine)?
If it is a VM, then I have some experience there. It is as simple as copying over the VM container file in which the installation resides. The VM software, upon usage of the VM, will ask whether you have moved the installation, to which you would respond, "yes".  Test the installation, then delete the VM from your old machine. Typically the licensing for Windows only would permit you to use it in one place.
p.s. You may have to deactivate some licenses for software on your old machine, then activate them on the Air, e.g. Adobe CS. Make sure you do this BEFORE you delete the VM on your old machine.

Can not transfer pictures from iPhoto on my MacBook Air to any of my devices via airdrop.
I have a new iPad Air 2 and a iPhone 5 all running the newest updates and IOS,OS X.
I can airdrop from my iPhone to iPad and vice versa.  But iPhoto on my macbook air does not give me the option via share to airdrop any of my pictures to my phone or ipad.

  • I have all my old photos from my PC on a Maxtor external hard drive.  How can I transfer them from this to my Macbook Air?

I'd like to transfer my old photos from my PC which are stored on a Maxtor external hard drive to my Macbook Air.  Is there an easy way of doing this?  I don't know if the Maxtor hard drive is Windows specific or if it's compatible with Mac.  Anyone know?

It should be fairly simple.  The Maxtor should be recognized as "read only" since it's formatted for windows.  Connect it and in iPhoto select, iPhoto > File > Import to Library..   > Point to your external hd.

  • Can i transfer everything from one ipad to another so both have exactly the same things

Can i transfer everything from one ipad to another so both have exactly the same things?

Yes. Copy your apps and other iTunes purchases/downloads to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer), then backup up the first iPad and restore that backup onto the second iPad.
    Backups and restores : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079
Things that aren't included in a backup include the contents of the Music and Videos apps (but they should be on your computer's iTunes) and photos that were synced from a computer. Also you will need to enter your passwords (email, wifi, website) on the second iPad - they won't be restored onto a different device, only back onto the device that the backup came from.

  • Can I transfer everything from my 8gb touch to my new 32gb touch

Can I transfer everything from my 8gb tounch to my new 32gb?

Yes.  Do one final sync/backup of the old iPod.  Then connect the new one and restore the new one from the backup of the old one.  When you first connect the new iPod to the syncing computer for activation, iTunes should tell you that it found a backup and would you like to restore the hew iPod from that backup or as a new iPod.  Select restore from backup.

  • How can I sync apps from my iTunes on Macbook Air without syncing apps from the iPad 2 to my Macbook Air?

How can I sync apps from my iTunes on Macbook Air without syncing apps from the iPad 2 to my Macbook Air? (As my Macbook Air is only 64GB and my iPad is 64GB and that my Macbook Air only has 40 GB left...) Or is there no other way but to sync apps from iTunes to iPad without syncing apps from iPad to iTunes(it says Backing Up , then it says Converting files to iTunes, then it shows the name of the app on the bottom...)

Yes, sign in with the same Apple ID as your stolen one in the new iPod Touch.

  • How can i transfer everything from old iphone4s to new iphone5?

just bought new iphone5, how do i transfer all the apps/contacts/etc from olf iphone4s?

The easiest way is to back up old phone to icloud and then restore new phone from that old phone backup. Any purchased content such as apps and songs from the itunes and apps stores can be downloaded again.
These directions are for an ipad, but the method is the same.

  • How can I transfer everything from a MBAir to new MBPro?

    Hi,
I am writing this question on my MacBook Air, running OSX Mountain Lion.
I have on order a MacBook Pro Retina, which will probably come installed with Mountain Lion also.
Please advise how I can move everything from the MBAir to the new MBPro. I would like to have everything the same except it would now be on the more powerful Pro.
    Thank you

Note that if you use Setup Assistant at the time of the first startup, the user account is transferred with the same name.  However, if you choose not to transfer the account until later, an empty account will be created and subsequent use of Migration Assistant will give your account a new one.  To have the name you had before for your own account, give the first empty account another.
I would use a transfer method you are familiar with, even if it takes a bit longer.
Have to disagree, regardless of how familiar with wi-fi you may be it remains the slowest, least reliable, most error prone method.

  • If I buy an ipad 2 with more memory, can i transfer everything from my old ipad to the new one

If I purchase an ipad 2  with more memory, can I transfer all the contents of the old ipad to the new one?

You can backup your current iPad, and then restore the new iPad from that backup (a list of what is included in a backup is in this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4079 - it excludes music, videos, synced photos). As the backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their settings and content, for the restore to work completely you'll need all the relevant apps in your computer's iTunes library - otherwise the restore won't be able to install the apps and therefore their content (if you don't have the apps on your computer then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519)
Restoring onto a different device won't restore passwords so you'll need to enter your router and email passwords and any passwords stored on websites.

  • Can i transfer everything from my ipod to and iphone?

I have a ipod but i'm getting an iphone. But before i get rid of my ipod how can i put everything on my ipod onto my iphone?

Backup your iPod and get all your synced media like apps and music in your iTunes library.
Then restore the iPhone from that backup. You will have to reenter keychain items like passwords since those only get restored to the same device.

  • How can I transfer photos from iPhone 3GS to MacBook?

    Please, I need help!!!
How can I transfer all the pics I have on my iphone 3g s to my macbook?!?!??!?!?!

You can import photos from your iPhone's Camera Roll only.
With a Mac, this can be with iPhoto or with the Image Capture application.
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process (which are stored in your iPhone's Photo Library) cannot be imported by your computer or transferred in the opposite direction. Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced. Photos transferred from your compute to your iPhone should remain on your computer and be included with your computer's backup.

  • How do I transfer data from my pc to macbook air using a cable?

I have just bought a Macbook Air and have a lot of photos, music and videos on my old PC. It isn't wireless or on a network and transferring via CD or memeory stick is taking an age. I have been advised you can buy a cable but not sure what it is called. Can anyone help. Please!

There's several options available, they're not perfectly but from my experience they work just fine. Here's an example of just two -
    Move2Mac - http://www.detto.com/move-2-mac-overview.php
    Belkin Transfer System - http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Mac-Transfer-Kit-White/dp/B001GTM4HQ
You can also wire the two machines together via Ethernet and network them together but you'll require the USB-to-Ethernet adapter for the MacBook Air.
Also as Kenneth suggested, there's the option of using an external HD and migrating.
