Can I transfer music from my iPod touch to my mac?

The iPod has been authorized with the computer already but for some reason all of the music on my iPod isn't showing. I want to reset the music on the computer's library and then just sync what's on my iPod onto it but I don't know how. Help?

    - No directly.  You have to first get the music in your itunes library on your computer and then sync the music to the new computer.
    - You can/should restore you new iPod from the backup of your old iPod to get app date and other things on the new iPod.  You will have to reenter passwords since passwords only get restore to the same device. The backup does not contain music so that has to be synced.
    - You can transfer iTunes purchased from an iPod to your computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer

  • How can I transfer music from my iPod touch to my new mac without a backup?

I've seen a lot of tutorials on how to do this from various websites. Some are for windows only and some only apply to iPods that aren't touches. What I want to know is, how can i transfer my music from iPod touch to my Mac without losing everything and without having to buy all my music over again (none of my music was purchased on iTunes)? It'll break my heart that 600 songs are all gone simply because I don't have a backup or I didn't purchase from iTunes. There has to be a way to do this. Help?

You need a third-party program like one of those discussed here.

    - After everthing is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTune and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.  This will also update the iOS.
If you update with having items like apps and music in the iTunes library, they will be deleted from the iPiod during the update. Se:

  • Can I transfer music from my iPod touch that was originally burned from CD's or does it only transfer music purchased from Itunes?  My computer crashed and I lost all of my music?

My computer crashed and I lost all of my music.  I have music still on my Ipod touch but a lot of it was originally burned from CD's onto my computer.  Is there any way to transfer this music back to a new computer or will I need to re-burn each individual CD again to get this onto the new computer?

  • How can I transfer music from my iPod Touch to my computer?

I have a second generation 8gb iTouch.  I recently got a new iPod Classic. The iTouch has about 700 songs and has been synched to multiple computers (whose libraries have since been lost). How do I transfer all of those songs in order to make them accessible to the Classic?

    Sync your iPod with iTunes.

  • How can I transfer music from my iPod Touch 4th Gen back onto my PC?

I accidentally deleted my iTunes Library file today and when I add all of my music back on it has music I don't want on it and none of my playlists are there (There are over 1000 songs on my computer and I only want about 200 of them). I thought that I could use all of the files from my iPod and put them onto my PC. After a while searching I couldn't find a way and have resorted to here. I'd prefer not to download separate software or redownload my files because my internet is painfully slow at the moment (0.8mbps). I just want a quick and easy way to put all of my stuff from my iPod back onto my computer. It's stupid how Apple make it so easy to put music onto the iPod but make it impossible to do the opposite. (Stupid industry standard safety, eBay and Amazon haven't even got this much security!). My iPod is running IOS 6.1.3 and my PC is Microsoft (much much much much.... better then Apple ) Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Thanks!

For non-Tunes purchases yo need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • Is there any way to transfer music from an iPod Touch to my Mac?

I bought an iPod Touch about three years ago now - used to have all my music on it for the bus rides to college etc.
A year and a half later, I bought an iPhone, so I forgot all about the iPod Touch.
I've recently rediscovered it and it has old songs I want to transfer onto my MacBook. Only problem is I don't want to download some unofficial app that's not supported by Apple because I'm concerned about security etc, and I don't want to have to use some program to download the songs again for free.. I'm not paying again for something I've bought before, and the majority of it isn't on iTunes.
I just want to transfer what I have onto a new computer.
Also, I can't use the 'Download purchases' option in iTunes - I've used it before, and it hasn't downloaded half of the music I've actually purchased.. is pretty useless.

    Yeah, that's not the problem.
I bought music on my last laptop, which was authorised with this iTunes account.
Bought a MacBook, authorised the account on this computer, and it's not downloading music I previously purchased on the old laptop.

  • How can I transfer music from my iPod touch (4th generation) to my computer if it was not purchased in iTunes

Recently, my PC was reset to factory settings and obviously, my music was not kept on my computer. I understand that iTunes can recover music that was purchased through iTunes, but that is not the case. If I downloaded or ripped music to my computer from any outside source, how can I restore this to my computer. Help is greatly appreciated. thanks

You will have to use a third party soft such as disk aid (digidna.net/products/diskaid) or iexplorer (macroplant.com/iexplorer)
    Hope this helps
