carlitos3373,
You need to use iTunes to transfer music to your iPod. You can download the latest version here:

Hope this helps,

No, you would have to put the music on a computer with iTunes then sync the iPod.

  • Can i transfer music from my new computer to my ipod nano?

I have been happily using my new ipod nano for some months. I have just bought a new computer. I downloaded itunes for the new computer and started to add some new cds. Now i am connecting my nano to the new computer for the first time and am trying to get the new albums transfered to the nano. I am worried about loosing all the music from my old computer of course, so i selected the 'manage files manually' option. Well i haven't lost the old tunes yet but just can't figure out how to move the tunes manually (from the 'recently added' list) to my nano. Any ideas?

The latest iTunes may hide the sidebar.  To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Find your iPod in the sidebar under DEVICES. Select the Recently Added playlist in the sidebar, to show the list of songs on the playlist to the right.  Click-hold-drag the song you want to the iPod in the sidebar.  You can select and drag multiple songs at the same time.
Alternately, you can select the song or songs on the playlist, right-click on the selection, select Add to Playlist from the menu, and choose your iPod as the target.

    Hello Rolando,
    Welcome to Sony Community.
You can directly transfer content by drag-and-drop to your computer from the below link:

Also, you can try the “SYNC” option in the Windows Media Player, after connecting the Reader to the Computer, for transferring the songs.

  • Moving music from another mp3 player to an ipod?

Ok, I have a Creative Zen Touch MP3 player and have most of my music on it. I just recently bought an ipod as well and most of the music that is one the creative zen touch is not on my computer anymore so it was not synced to the ipod when i got itunes. Is there any way I can move the music that is the creative zen touch over to the ipod?

I don't know anything about Creative players, but I can make some general suggestions.
Do you have a way to transfer the music from the Creative Zen to your hard drive? If so, that would be the first step. What format is it in? mp3 is good. iTunes will convert unprotected wma so that works, too. Protected wma isn't going to work.
Then, if the files are something that iTunes can work with, just import the music into your iTunes library (File>Add to library).
Or, I missing some really big issue.

How do I transfer music files from my laptop to my Ipod Touch?

The only way to get it fixed is to contact the carrier to whom the phone is locked.  You will need to find out:
    1) IF the carrier offers unlocking.  Not all carriers do
    2) IF the carrier indeed offers unlocking, what the requirements are.  You might not fulfill them.

  • Can't transfer music from windows media player to itunes

I have a ton of great music to put onto itunes from my wmp but keep getting hung up on different things! HELP!

    What format are the files?
WIndows Media Player uses WMA by default, and while iTunes for Windows i supposed to play WMAs, that isn't always the case.

  • Can't transfer music from CD or hard drive to iPod.  Why?

I am having a problem adding music to my iPod that I ripped from a CD. Whether I open the CD with iTunes and try and add songs or use another application to rip songs, and then add through the hard drive, I keep getting an error message.
First, I try to convert to MP3 format (because I guess converting from the hard drive, the files are in WMA format). Then by reading the CD with iTunes, I try and drag songs into a playlist or into my library, and I get an error message that says "Error occurred while converting file name "Song_Title". An unknown error occurred (-223)."
I updated to the latest version of iTunes (March 06) and tried using the iPod updater and restarted my computer, but nothing worked. I didn't used to have this problem, but have noticed that the process of adding music has become progressively more difficult over the last year since I have had the iPod. I used to be able to get around it by ripping songs using another application and then adding the files from the hard drive, but that doesn't even work any more.

You have to use iTunes. I believe there is a setting in the iTunes preferences to specify whether or not to copy media you import to the iTunes folder or leave it in place. Not in front of a copy of iTunes at the moment to check.  You MUST import it to your iTunes library, though, before you can sync it to the phone.

  • Moving music from another mp3 player

I have a different mp3 player with a large library of music acquired from various sources. I just received an ipod nano as a gift. Is there any way to transfer my music from my old player to the ipod? I paid good money for my library and I hate to lose it!

    Welcome to the forums!
iTunes is the only way I know of to get songs into your new iPod. SO the trick is to get your old libraru into iTunes.
So you have to know what format they are in now. Maybe WMA or mp3. iTunes works well with mp3 and I think it can convert non-protected WMA as well so you have to find a way to get the files into a format that will work.
Once you have a method you can just drag the files into iTunes and it will do the rest.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
'Tranferring' implies the change of ownership, which isn't possible.
