Can I transfer music from one Ipod touch to a newer generation Ipod touch?

Can I transfer music from one IPod Touch to a newer generation IPod Touch?

- No directly.  You have to first get the music in your itunes library on your computer and then sync the music to the new computer.
- You can/should restore you new iPod from the backup of your old iPod to get app date and other things on the new iPod.  You will have to reenter passwords since passwords only get restore to the same device. The backup does not contain music so that has to be synced.
- You can transfer iTunes purchased from an iPod to your computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- The follow discussion discusses third-party programs to transfer non-iTunes purchases from an iPod to a computer.

You can give the person a copy of the song files, which they can then add to their iTunes library.

If you mean iTunes Store accounts, no.
If you mean iTunes libraries, import the song files into it.

How can I transfer music from my old iPad to my new MacBook ?
My old MacBook was stolen and now I have all my music still on my IPad but like to get it back in my ITunes as well, is this possible ?

If the music was purchased from the iTunes Store, simply sign into your iTunes Store account on iTunes. From there, go to the main page of the store. Then, on the right, there should be a purchased button. Tap there, and walla! You can download all of your past purchases. If it wasn't from the iTunes Store, use a third party Mac app.

  • Can I transfer music from one apple id to another?

I have always used my sisters iTunes when buying music and apps as I never really needed my own and well it was cheaper buying it into one account than do it separately. However now I am off to uni, I would like my own apple ID for my new mac and hopefully iPhone. We obviously need separate accounts now but I still want the music that's on hers. Is there anything you can do to transfer music from one account to another so they both have the same?

Not without buying the content again.

  • HT3819 Can I transfer music from one computer to another via home sharing?

Can I transfer my music from one computer to another via home sharing?

So long as they are on the same wifi network, yes.
Have both computers running and have iTunes open on both computers.
Now, in the iTunes on the computer you want to transfer music to, select the library that you want to transfer music from, as per the following screenshot:
Once the other library loads, go down to the bottom of the screen and in "Show:" select "Items not in my library":
If you want to import all of the songs you can now see, head up to the iTunes menu bar and go "Edit > Select all". Then head down to the bottom of the screen again and click the "Import" button in the bottom-right-hand corner.
If there's a lot of stuff in the library you're transferring from, the transfer may take some time.

  • How can I transfer music from one Windows Phone to...

I have a Nokia Lumia 1020. I dropped it and cracked the screen so I was sent a replacement device.  I was able to transfer everything from my old phone to the new one, except for the hundreds of songs I have downloaded over the last several months.  When I try to transfer the files through my computer, I get an error about some kind of digital license rights.
    What do I do?

if you purchased them through xbox music, or nokia music, go back to that product and try to redownload from that application on your new device.

  • Can you transfer music from one iPod to another (that having one of them set up as a NEW iPod and not signed in with the first) through iTunes on the computer?

My mom has an iPod 2nd gen. I have been using it this whole time until Christmas. I got an iPod 5th gen. We listen to the same type of music and hers is on iTunes on the computer. I want to have my own iPod (set up as new) not set up with her account. But I do not want to re-buy all of the music that is already on her iPod. Is there a way that I can transfer all of her music from iTunes on the computer to my iPod (using the computer). If so, then how? and if not, is there another way that is possible other than logging my iPod in with her account?

Copy the music for the old iPod to his computer by:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
Then sync the new iPod to that computer.

  • How can I transfer music from one computer to a mac without burning cds?

    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.0.x)

Or, if you have a network established that both computers are on, you can transfer your "iTunes" folder from one computer to the other. That's what I just did, (from my PC to my new Mac), and it worked just fine. (I only lost the files that I haven't deauthorized on the PC yet.)

  • How Can i transfer music from one account to another.

My very first account on itunes was using my fathers old work email. Well he moved jobs and then my next account let me still listen to the music i had purchased from the old account. Well then the second account got hacked and i had to make a new one and i got a new laptop. I have all the music in my library but it wont let me play it or sync it to my ipod. It keeps asking to authorize with the first account and i would be able to do this but the old password we used for it does not work and the birthday on the account is changed and i cannot access it at all. Is there anyway to make the music able to play and sync?
