can i transfer music i already have stored on my laptop to my ipad?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes, but not using home sharing.
Check the music you want to sync under the music tab in iTunes when your iPad is connected to your computer.

  • How can I transfer music from my iPod to a new laptop?

I recently got a new laptop because my old laptop, in which all of my music is in, is about to break down. So just about a few days ago my laptop just died, i cannot turn it on, and all of my music is in there. How can i transfer all of my music onto my new laptop using my ipod, and how will I be able to keep downloading music on my new laptop. Thanks!

You still got your music in your iPod? There is a way to transfer it to your new laptop.
You can simply transfer music from iPod to computer with a handy tool called iOS Transfer.
iOS Transfer is a program specifically designed to deal with problem of transformation between iPod and Computer.

  • HT4994 How can I transfer the contacts I have stored on my iPhone to either my computer or to my SIM card?

I have been having issues with Siri taking over my phone and locking me out of accessing it. Temporarily I have fixed it by syncing it with iTunes, but I need to transfer the contacts I have store on the iPhone to either the SIM card installed or my laptop. I cannot find out how to do either, only imformation on how to import contacts onto the phone...
Please help, my head is already done in enough by feeling like Siri is trying to take over my life.... why do I feel like I am in iRobot!>!>!>!?!?!?!?

What do you mean by "Siri taking over my phone and locking me out of accessing it"?  Are you sure you don't have VoiceOver turned on?  With VoiceOver on a voice speaks the names of items that you touch on the screen, and you have to use different gestures to get around.  This may make it feel like you're "locked out" of your phone.
To turn VoiceOver off you have to go to Settings>General>Accessibility>VoiceOver>Off.  With VoiceOver on you have to flick the screen with three fingers to scroll, and to activate an item on the screen you have to tap an item once to select it, then double-tap it to activate it.  You can also turn it off by connecting your phone to iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings, Click Configure Universal Access (under Options), then under Seeing select Neither.

  • Can't transfer music library from old desktop to new laptop computer

I am hoping this is an easy fix, but I have I-Tunes and all my music originally loaded on my desktop.
I just rcvd a new laptop and loaded I-Tunes onto it, then plugged in my I-Pod and it won't allow me to sync on both computers are the same time
"This I-pod is synched with another I-Tunes library. I-pod can only be synched with one librart at a time"
and it wants me to wipe out the all my music and synch with the new computer
    1) Can I have the same music on both computers and connect my I-pod?
    2) How can I just dump all my music on the I-pod to my laptop w/o a external drive or something like that??? Can I use the i-pod to do this?
    Thanks

  • I recently had to completely restore my laptop, so I lost the music on my itunes. It's still on my iphone, but how can I keep the music I already have and continue to add more music from the newly set up itunes again?

I recently had to completely restore my laptop, so I lost the music on my itunes. It's still on my iphone, but how can I keep the music I already have and continue to add more music from the newly set up itunes again? Is there actually a way to do this? I can't help but wonder what the stupid icloud is for if my music is still somewhere in the 'cloud' but it's zero help for restoring music when it's lost on a computer....any help even a site that get's around apple would be great!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to your computer.  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You can also redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Download past purchases - Apple Support

How can I transfer music from my iPhone to my iPad.?
I no longer have a PC. Mine died and cannot be restored. It had iTunes with my entire music library on it.

If you are running an OS of 5.0 or higher, you should be able to use the iCloud to sync both devices together & share music.

I have two computers with home sharing on, but I can't transfer music. What do I do?

What do you mean by "won't pick up the songs"?
You can only sync with one iTunes library. However, you can manage mauic and videos among different computer by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
You can transfer iTunes purchases to a computer by:

  • HT201272 Before backing up my old iphone4 I traded it in for an iphone5. All of the apps I purchased I had no problem retrieving from itunes with no charge but I can't download music that I have already paid for that was not backed up w/out paying again.

Before backing up my old iphone4 I traded it in for an iphone5. All of the apps I purchased had no problem downloading to my new phone from itunes with no charge, but I can't download music that I have already paid for that was not backed up w/out paying again. How can I get these songs to my new phone without having to buy them again?

Whether you can re-download music depends upon what country that you are in (and whether it remains in the store). If you don't have a Music section in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone for re-downloading it, then do you not have you library on your computer's iTunes or on your backup of your downloads ? If not then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download

  • How can I sync my iPhone music to my new Mac with out loosing my the music I already have in the phone?

Bought a new Mac and iTunes won't let me sync new music to my phone because I used to sync it in my old Mac.  How can I sync with the new PC with out loosing the music I already have in my phone?

Copy everything from your old computer to your new one then sync.
Iphone will sync with one library/computer at a time.  Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content.

  • Why I can't transfer music to my iphone 4S? I know I have to use Itunes, I could do it before but now nothing happens.. Please help

Ever since I installed an application (a Ringtone maker) downloaded from App Store now I can't transfer music to my iphone 4S?
I know I have to use Itunes, I could do it before but now nothing happens. Although I followed the instructions given in the Help Video for that application nothing happened, no ringtones were loaded, and all my music disappeared.
    Please help!!!
    Ivan from Chile

    Hi Ivan,
Connect your iPhone to your computer. In iTunes, select your iPhone in the left bar. In the middle screen, go to the tab 'Music' and see if the Sync music box is checked.
If it is checked, you can select the music you want on your iPhone in the screen below.
If it is not checked, you can drag and drop music from your library to your iPhone.
Do the same in the tab 'Ringtones' (not sure if there is such a tab).
Let us know if this solved your issue.

  • How can I transfer music from my ipod classic 60GB to my iPhone 4 music library, just by song or whole CD that I have bought? Help needed!

How can I transfer music from my ipod classic 60GB to my iPhone 4 music library, just by song or whole CD that I have bought? Help needed!

load the current version of I tunes on the laptop and sync the pod.  Then sync the phone - you can select all or as much of the music you want to.
Also - if the music on the pod was purchased from the itune store in the first place, you should be able to redownload it to the phone for free, as long as you are using the same apple id that it was bought with.

  • Can i transfer music from ipod to a new computer i do not have my old computer

Can i transfer music from ipod to a new computer i do not have my old computer files as it crashed.

For purchased songs you can plug the iPod into you new computer and use the "File > Transfer Purchases from iPod" feature in iTunes. For music not purchased from the iTunes store you will need a third party program to help. There are a few of them out there, and they are easy to find on Google.
