I broke my old iPhone 4. Instead of going through the hassle, I want to just buy an unlocked iPhone 4s. Can I just transfer the SIM card to the new one with no trouble? Or can I only transfer to an iPhone4? Thamks.

Yes you can install your current sim into the mini iPad. You have to cut the current sim to the nano sim. There are cutter available on eBay and amazon. You go to your local best-buy. They have it for sale. Just be carefully to align properly or else you will end damaging your current sim. Any little damage to the current sim will render it unusable.

Wouldn't work. You have to have a 3G iPad equipped for AT&T or Verizon to use the cellular feature. You pay by the month for this service. The 3G iPad includes a sim card & also additional electronics for AT&T or Verizon.

Yes, you will be able to use it provided that the 16GB version of 3GS is either factory unlocked or locked to AT&T network (in case of a carrier locked phone).

I was hoping I could so I don't have to wait for AT&T to activate my 4S. I've been trying for almost 4 hours with no luck. I don't see why I can't but I'm not an expert at all. Seems silly to waste my current sim card when it works perfectly fine.
Your SIM card is your identity on your carrier's network.
It allows them to track you, the bandwith your voice and data xfers worth, and to bill you accordingly.
Therefore, you cannot just swap the card as it has to be activated by your carrier on his network. -

No, it won't work because I think the iPhone 3gs take the full size sim card as far as I can remember and not even a micro sim.
The iPhone 4s has a much smaller sim card, so it just is not going to work.
What you could do is go to your carrier and purchase a Pay As You Go sim card in the correct size to fit a 3gs and put it in to activate the phone to use it as an iPod and then take it out. -

The only caviat is for instance in the UK some iPads are locked to a specific network provider and therefore if the new iPad is locked then it will only work on the specific network it is locked to. -

The iPhone 5 uses a 4th generation SIM card (NanoSIM) while the Samsung Galaxy S3 uses a 3rd generation MicroSIM. You can however use your existing MicroSIM in an iPhone 4 or 4S

Not as it is, no. The iPhone 4 takes micro-SIMs. It is apparently possible to cut down a standard SIM, but it would be best to just get a new micro-SIM from your cell carrier.

You cannot. The iPhone is locked to Softbank, and only they can unlock it. Problem is that Softbank will NOT unlock the phone, as they do not offer iPhone unlocking.
Buy an iPhone in the Phillipines.
PS Before you go on a rant at Apple, be aware that Apple does NOT unlock phones and they do not set unlocking policies. The carriers (Softbank in this case) set the unlocking policy. -

If your phone is officially unlocked, & either of the three authorized carriers, in Taiwan, have nano sims available, yes. Otherwise you'll have to get International Provisioning activated for your account & use the phone while roaming...very expensive.
