well, i used to have an apple ID (2 years ago) and i purchased lots of apps from it, (about $70 worth of apps), but now, the credit card of it has expired and i have a new ID, and want to recover my apps, but authorize them from the new account, is that possible? (i still have the password and ID of the old account)
and the old account is not registered in my name and the card isnt even mine..

No, Apple will not transfer apps between Apple ID accounts. So if the old account in actuality was not yours, then the copies of the apps were not yours legally. To continue with the apps you would need to buy the licenses to use them in your name with your own account and bank card.

You can't currently transfer purchases between accounts as Apple haven't added that ability. As long as the old account remains authorised on the computer that they sync to then they should be able to continue using that music, and it will remain on their phones.

My wife and I have two different Apple ID's I have an iPad mini and a MacBook Pro, she has an iMac and a MacBook. We recently got an Apple TV and want to share our itunes libraries to that. You can switch between ID's very easily on the Apple TV, but that is only for iTunes purchases, NOT Homesharing. I would like to be able to switch between ID's easily, or just consolidate our purchases into one account. -- I am aware that merging accounts is impossible -- But is it possible to transfer purchases?
Any suggestions on how to have the best Apple TV Home Sharing experience with multiple devices would be appreciated!

Yes your libraries might use different Apple ID's for iTunes, but if you both use the same ID (either both use yours or both use hers) for homesharing (File > Homesharing), the Apple TV will be able to see both of your libraries without any logging in or out.

No. Content is permanently tied to the Apple ID it was acquired with.
Simply update the email address linked to the Apple ID.

Im not sure wether I got you right or not. But my advice/s would be as follows:
These steps help you get rid of old apps you downloaded years ago and you do not use anymore.(Also frees space on your mac after emptying the trash)
1) go to iTunes and delete all applications in it. Make sure to move them to trash! Do not empty your trash yet. Its your backup if step 3 doesnt appear.
2) connect both your devices(one after each other) and make a backup. !!!Dont press the Sync button, press the Back Up Now Button
3) Then it asks you if you want to backup applications as well. Confirm. (This is how apps get transferred manually)
4) Then Sync your devices... The first time it might be, that there are some additional apps loaded to your devices you dont want to.. delete them on your Device (not iTunes) and after that you should be good every time you sync again.
5) now you can empty your trash on your mac.
Further,
- You should regularly connect your devices with iTunes to make sure they are backed up. (Even if you have activated iCloud backup, the iTunes backup is more proper i.e.. Apps)
- If you hate scrolling through a list of apps in iTunes, you can re/install apps directly on iOS not via iTunes. I absolutely never go to the "Applications" section in iTunes. I install and delete apps directly on iOS.

There's really no need to create a new AppleID as this will simply cause problems with multiple accounts.

Can't transfer purchased music from iTunes to iPod

When I try to transfer purchased music from my Itunes music folder to my iPod, I get the following error message: "Some of the iTunes Store files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because the iPod may only contain content from five iTunes Store accounts."
What I have done to try to address the problem: I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, (it was only after this download, actually, that I began to have the problem) read the help article entitled "Some songs in iTunes won't copy to iPod", de-authorized and then re-authorized the computer (didn't work) and gone through my iPod to delete any songs that were on burned cds given to me by friends, which potentially originated from other iTunes accounts.
Perhaps I have overlooked something, but my iPod is only registered on three computers, and I am unable to transfer my purchased music to my iPod. Interestingly, I had no problem transfering my purchased songs onto my iPod before upgrading to the latest version of iTunes last month. It has only been since the upgrade that I can no longer transfer purchases. I subscribe to several podcasts through National Public Radio (free)-- could this be a factor?
Please help. I still have 19 GB of free space and if I can't transfer purchases, then it's kind of a waste of space. Thanks so much for your time~

Can you transfer files between two user accounts on the same MacBook Pro?
Specifically, I used the Migration Assistant to move music and photos from my old PC to my new MacBook.
Somehow, I missed the fact that it was creating a new user account when it was doing this. So none of music and photos are in the user account I originally set-up. Instead, all these files are now in a different account.
I'd like to consolidate all my files on the one user account and delete the other one.
Is this possible and, if so, how do I do it?

you can crop files from one account to another using the Public Dropbox which every user account has. Log into the user that has the files you want to move, then drag the folder you want to the new users' dropbox:
I suggest a small scale test on a few files first before moving gigabytes of files.

I did figure this out eventually and am going to record it here so later, when i ultimately forget the twists and turns I took to make this happen, I'll be able to come back and see....For me it was not as simple as John (above) offered...First: Export photos from iPhoto into folder on desktop. Click on the folder and select from the top left corner File - Check info- click the box beside shared folder- scroll down to Sharing & Permission and make sure the other user acccount is added to who can read & write.
If you haven't done this already go into System Preferences- Sharing- check the box beside File Sharing- click on File Sharing as well and 2 windows will appear- Shared Folders and Users. Select the shared folder you want to use and in the User window add the other user account to who can read & write.
Next: Open Finder- select Public Folder- drag photo folder into it.
Now log off and open your other User profile. Open Finder. Select Macintosh HD in the side bar- select Users Folder- select the original User profile you want your photos from- select Public Folder- your photo folder should be there, drag it onto your Desktop or directly into iPhoto. If a block occurs saying you aren't alllowed to see this folder then you missed a step in the whole file sharing business.
Viola! it worked. Hope this helps someone else
