Can i transport PO Release strategy in a request

Hi Gurus,
I have done po release starategy in dev can i transport the release strategy in a request to quality client or should i do the same setting again in quality server.

hI
1- Release classification is a master data which you can not transport and need to maintain in each client.
2- Goto Txn -- CL24n in Qly or PRD
3- Enter release class and class type then enter ,there you will get all your strategies select the strategy you want to maintain and details there you can maintain the values.

Transportation of release strategy

Hi guys,
We heard that in ECC 6.0, we can transport release strategy for PRs and POs along with characteristics and classes. I have the following doubts on this
1) Can we transport the values assigned in the strategies also with this functionality ?
2) From MM side can we configure the strategies in the normal way i.e. creating characteristics, creating classes, creating release groups, creating release indicators, configuring release strategies (or) we need to follow any other procedure for transporting the strategies
Any suggestions on this

I dont think this functionality exits of transporting the charcterisitcs & classes.
In ECC 6.0 also this functionality does not exist as per my knowledge.

You cannot transport them (Class and characteristics) . But There is a way to send them accross systems by ALE . ref SAP link http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/24/903b39878f4205e10000000a114084/frameset.htm . You will need help of an Abaper who has worked on ALE .
If the data isnt large, its safest to manually create class and chars and assign in CL24N .

10.1.4 production ....? Who can explain Oracle's release strategy?

Today I received an announcement from Oracle:
"Oracle Application Server Portal 10g Release 2 (10.1.4) now available!
Oracle is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Oracle Application Server Portal 10g Release 2 (10.1.4)."
I never quite understood how Oracle manages their version numbers, but to me this looks like 10.1.4 is production before 10.1.3 is ... can somebody please explain this to me? Or is this version of Oracle Portal completely separate from Oracle Application Server?

I agree that Oracle version numbers is not easy to "manage".
If we step back a bit, looking at versions
(some say that the two first version numbers of AS versioning is based on version of DB included)

You can also check Certify, Component info. It lists components of AS 10.1.2.0.2 and their versions, including Oracle Portal 10.1.2.1.0 and Oracle Portal Upgrade 10.1.4.0.0. So, I guess Portal is developed at a faster rate than some of the other products in the stack and Oracle decided not to wait to release it! (now it's "fusionabled")

PR Release Strategy- transport of charact/class/ values using ALE

Does anyone have the information relative to ALE set up for release strategy-
I am using transactions BD91 for characteristics; BD 92 for Class and BD 93 for the actual values into release strategy.
I need the information as to what needs to be set up in Development client and receiving clients ( Q and Prod) for these transactions i.e., RFC destinations, define ports, Identify Message types & setup partner profile configurations etc

SES Release Strategy

Need to configure release strategy for SES unfortunately SPRO setting for the configuration are closed on live client.
How can i get the client open, Do i need knowledge of specific objects?
Alternatively can i configure and transport the release strategy from a dev. client where SPRO is open ?

SPRO-> IMG-> Materials Management-> External Services Management-> Define Release Procedure for Service Entry Sheet
You are not allowed to touch the configuration part in the production client. for that matter nobody will have.
what you have to do is that you have to config in the development and create a transfer request and then transfer this request to the Quality test the release process if everything is proper then transfer the request to production from development with proper approval

Contract & PO Release Strategy

Hi All,
We are in the process of designing the release strategy for contract and PO. I would like to know whether we can have the different release conditions for contract and different release conditions for PO. For example.
The release conditions for Contract required are
1)Porg
2)Pgroup
3) Value
Also, for quantity contract how can we make the release strategy trigger based on value.
The release conditions for PO required are
1)Porg
2)Pgroup
3)Material Group
4)Value
The release strategy is not getting determined if we create po with two line items which belongs to two different material group. Is there any way out to solve this issue?

Yes your requirement is possible...
While creating Charectristics in CT04 for External Purchase Documents...Create one more Value for your Document Category...ie) Table as :CEKKO and Field as BSTYP and choose the Purchase Doc. Category values K and F.
Then create Charecteris for CEKKO - EKORG, CEKKO - EKGRP and CEKKO - GNETW, CEKKO- MATKL... and assign these all 4 Chareteristices in your release class.
And Configure your release statergy according to your requirement...

PO Release Strategy not triggerred for particular Total Net Order Value

Dear,
I am currently facing the issue where release strategy for purchase orders is not getting triggered for a particular value or lower.
For order value 1 INR or less, no release strategy is triggered for new created PO. And for value > 1 INR release strategy is getting triggered.
All otehr PO characterstics are the same, I mean to say the values for other characterstics such as plant material group are identical.
But the characterstics for release for Total net order value are <= 30000 INR. There are two system copies, where in one system the same release strategy is working as expected. But in other system the above mentioned issue occurs. There is no differnce which I can see in the release strategy setup.
Please suggest for solution.

Dear All,
While looking further into the issue by going into debugging mode, we have found that in include LCLSCF2I, Internal table p_selection_criteria_tab , the value for ATFLV (Internal Floating point from) gets different values in the two systems. For example, in the affected system, for PO with 1INR tottal value, for one of the Total value chaaracterstics before INR characterstic, ATFLV value is 0,0000000000000000E+00, hence it gets out of loop and doesn't trigger release strategy.
But in another system for same PO values and release setup, ATFLV value is 1,0000000000000000E+00 for that characterstic.
May I know how the value for this field gets calculated.

Is there any functionality Can we put the release strategy in Down Payment Request of vendor . once it has been released by authorised user it can pay by accounts dept using T.code F-48 or F110.

Hi Reddy,
I don't think there is standard SAP functionality of release strategy for Down Payment Requests. You may need to setup a workflow for this, then post the down payment and so on.

Mm pr-po release strategy : error

Dear MM experts,
We already having MM-rel strategy for PR & PO with classification procedure and working fine,
Now business requirement is to change the MM-Rel PR& PO strategy,
New mm-rel strategy for PR customised in class 032 (not to use existing release groups & release strategies)
After doing config settings in customising client, the request moved to another client for testing.
Testing client, request moved successful, and while checking the settings in testing client,
in Release Strategies - details mode
Informatination is available at Release pre-requisites, Release Statuses without any error,
but when we try for Classification, we are getting the following error
"Error in classification (class PRREL class type 032)"
Can u please suggest what needs to be done so that we can go ahead further.
Kindly note while doing config setting client, we did not encounter the above error, it has accepted all the settings (copy existing rel group & having differnt rel strategies, etc)

i have to set/create new release procedure, ie.,
New release groups
New release codes (bcos new codes are added & release levels remained same)
New release strategies
How i can retain the Old PRs & POs released with earlier release strategy/release codes?
PRs & POs not released can be with new release strategy, but i have to ensure the old prs & pos (released) were with earlier release strategy & release code.
Also, I need ur advise, how the new release strategy works for workflow

New po release strategy

hi,
i am having xxxxx class for po release strategy with 3 characteristics-(plant, po value and document type)
now i want to have only 2 characteristics with document type and PO value.
again i want to use new release codes for my new strategy, keeping the same class for release strategy.
can i define new release strategy using the new codes?, then what shall be the impact of the same on below
1. already released PO, now want to amend,(after new release strategy implimented)- what would be the effect on PO?? which release codes shall hit the same?
2. already release PO(i understand there wont be a problem in GR, as release ia already effected)
3. new PO shall catch the new strategy- no problem with the same.
for implimenting the new strategy using the same class, can i delete the old release strategy with codes or i just need to remove the value mentioned in the classification view of the release proceedure.

my point is while re-defining the release proceedure.
earlier i had 150 release strategies and arround 40-50 release codes. now only 12 release codes
i just need to get confirm, if i create a new release code and assign a new release strategy using the same class(only deleting the plant characteristics), what will happen to old po(released) for which now we are amending.
i assume i need to delete/remove all the data of old release strategy available in classification view, and keeping the release codes as it is in release pre-requisites fr old release strategy.
or just any body briefe me what are all the condition for changing the exsiting release strategy.if i need to create new release code,release strategy by using the same release class.

Release strategy for PR with materials having different prices

Can we make a release strategy for a variant configured material ?
I mean create a strategy in such a way that price is critical factor and the materials what ever we choose for the PR has different characteristics dependencies like for example ( A chair having different characteristics like color, material ( like steel, leather etc) and other features like wheels etc and whatever characteristics we choose has a different price.......... so when v come to the release strategy it has to be approved by the next level if it reaches $ 1000 and so on.

thanks for your reply, yes I have taken it as total value only. The scenario is I am asked to use three different characteristics ( total value, materials, MRP Controller) and assign them to a class and if the customer picks any number of different materials and if the price is more than 1000 then it has to reach to the next level for approval. i thought i am suppose to use object dependencies here......... can we do this in a normal release order if so how would be the strategy played here?

I have 2 different line items in PR with 2 different mat groups. How can I set up a release strategy for this scenario. Ex-line No 1 has mat group X and line item 2 has mat group Y. Do I release at header level or item wise release is possible

In PR you can set up this release strategy without classification release strategy.
w/o classification strategy you can define the release line item wise. so you can give diiff materual group you can enter with line item wise.
