Can I transter my USA Apple Store gift card to the Australia Apple Store?

I have a $150 Apple Store gift card from the USA where I was previously living.  I have now moved to Australia and would like to use the gift card in the Australian Apple Store.
Would it be possible to do this?  The gift card says it is 'valid only in the USA' but given that Apple is such an international company generally with excellent customer service I would hope to transferring it is a possibility.

You can't. It's only valid in the US.
There are complex accounting and tax reasons as to why this is true.

    iTunes menu View > View sidebar.
    Select the iTunes Store inteh sidebar, click your account name then Sign out.
    Then click SIgn in.

    I know that I can do that. I don't feel like spending any of my money or going and buying another card. I also doubt that im ever going to need more than 50 bucks on itunes. Im asking for a solution that doesnt require much effort, nor money, nor time. Also most stores sell iTunes gift cards, not just apple stores.     An Apple Store gift card can only be used to buy at an Apple Store, not in iTunes Store. If the card comes with a key, you can try redeeming it in the iTunes Store in case it is an iTunes gift card.

    Basicly the Apple store gift card is for purchases such as devices/accessories etc.

    From what I see and from my experiment in the U.S, online Apple Store, I would say that yes you can. iTunes gift cards are sold in the Apple Online store and Apple Store gift cards are an accepted form of payment on the store, so that means to me that it is possible.

    You need to understand the difference between an Apple Store gift card, used for buying Apple products, and an iTunes Store gift card, used for purchasing digital content.
