Can I tunes Slowness by cause by many playlists?
I have an older MacMini running iTunes for iPod syncing, mainly. On most accounts on the system, iTunes is fast enough (it is a first generation mini, so it's no speed demon), but on My account iTunes beachballs even on scrolling my music. I have a fair amount of music (about 40 GB) and a larger number of playlists, divided into folders. (a couple hundred).
Could the number of playlists be causing slowness? It seems to be worse while I'm adding playlists and when iTunes has just started.

It's more a matter of the general industry standard with file ID3 tagging, not iTunes as such. Unless they introduce a standard where a file can carry multiple sets of tags then a file can only be identified with one album at a time. I guess Apple could introduce its own standard to allow for multiple tags but then everybody who does not use iTunes would complain loudly that tags no longer behaved with their players. Since it is a relatively small thing I doubt anybody feels a great urgency to implement such a change.
Another thing to note is not all duplicates are really duplicates. The extreme case is where a track has the same name but is unplugged on one album and electric on the other. Even if it is the same recording session a track may have a different mix on different albums. Mind you, it still sounds essentially the same so I can understand not wanting to listen to 3 copies of those.
A trick I have done in the past where I wanted to make note of a track but not have it play was to generate 0.5s of silence using an audio editor, then encode it to mp3. The small file can carry full track information but of course won't play anything but 0.5 seconds of silence and essentially "skip" the track. I mostly did this where I obtained a few tracks on an album (our library lets us download 3 mp3 tracks per week for free to keep) but wanted to full listing for the album.

You can authorise your account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of the iTunes screen - if you have iTunes11 then control-B should get the menus to show.

Boot drives with even less than 50% free is probably not a good idea. All depends on whether 200GB is on 1TB or on 500GB drive. And how fragmented free space even.
Lifting, loading and writing or copying 4GB files of course does have an impact, so if you work with 2GB files in CS5....
Having a dedicated type boot drive, media drive (and isolate media and library files) as well as scratch drive is normally done with Mac Pro.
The biggest bang in performance: lean mean SSD boot drive. -

Yes, you can sync podcasts. Except in this case it's KEXP.org's song-a-day podcast that are just songs. I want them to work the same way as any song in my library from any other source. I do not want to manage them as podcasts. And for whatever reason it won't send them to my iphone as songs unless I right click and convert to mp3. And yes, they already are mp3s. Before I convert them, they don't ever show up in iTunes DJ or in Music either. I don't know... ask Apple.

What can I tune to make the database use less memory in a 1GB ram notebook?

Our notebook has 1GB ram only, running Windows XP Pro, Oracle10g Database, Oracle9i Application Server. It consumes about 1.4 - 1.5GB ram where it's already start using the virtual memory, therefore have some performance issue with it especially when try to startup the services.
I'm not a DBA but I would like to get some advice on what and how can I tune the database to use less memory since the notebook is used for demo application only, so we save memory resource and make the notebook runs faster.

In your case you could use 10g on XP. The only XP not supported is Home Edition.
Coming back to the issue, since 9iR2 Oracle recommendation is to provide 1G for each AS node (infrastructure and middle tier). If you have this on the same box, by itself on the Enterprise install will consume more than 1G.
Tuning 10g database won't make much difference. If you install AS 10gR2 it includes a 10gR1 Database as infrastructure database you could use for demo purposes.

I upgraded from 3.6.16 to 5, but don't like how 5 handles tabs (auto reloading 'problem loading' tabs when internet connection is reestablished). So I installed 3.6 in a separate folder, e.g. both versions are on this computer. I went back to using 3.6, and let it upgrade to either 3.6.18 or 19 (don't recall which & it's not open right now). I'm having problems with it using too much CPU & Memory, and not sure if that's a difference between 3.6.16 & 3.6.18/19, or if having 5 on the same computer even if closed could be causing the problem.
Can I uninstall 5 without causing problems with the 3.6 version and the single profile?If you haven't tried this, give it a try. It worked for me, hopefully it will work for you. In your version 3 firefox, disable all extensions, I had two plugins (doubletwist and joost, disable those if you have them). Then install firefox 5 by overwriting your version 3 firefox. It should work fine after that. I tried everything before, I gave that a last ditch shot. Oh yeah, before you install firefox 5, clear your cache of everything just to be sure.

You can move the rental between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period. However, the movie can only be played on one device at a time. How many playlists (folders) can you have in iTunes.
I have a lot of music in iTunes and would like sort them out so it is easier for me to use
Eg 1 x folder for now 83
1 x folder for now 82
1 x folder for mash ups
Then weekly folders so probably looking at about 100+ folders

CheersIn iTunes playlists and folders are two different things. I assume you are asking about playlists. 100 will not be a problem.
However, it is unnecessary to create a playlist for Now 82. If the tracks are properly tagged, it will show up as an album. -

There is no documented limit.
Note that Smart Playlists with Live Updating use extra processing, so if you have more than a few dozen of them you may notice a slowdown.
Some people think they should create a playlist for each album. If by any chance that is the reason you are asking the question, you will find it is much easier to get to an album via the column browser. -
I had to buy a new iPhone, how do I retrieve my stuff that was backed up in my iCloud account? The guy at the apple store said it could take a few days iCloud was running real slow due to so many new accounts, is that true?

Safari will no longer open. It just goes back to my desktop. When I right click on the safari icon in my dashboard it says it is open. I was using firefox until I could find a fix for safari. I made the mistake of changing my default search to firebox later for convenience and now I can't open my system preference or many safari or apple linked files. Some of my emails from trusted sites won't open and does the same thing.
I upgraded my original system from 10.4.11 to I believe 10.6. something about a year or so ago. I thought about re installing my safari app but when I go to open anything connected to safari my screen goes back to the desktop. I cant open any files that I have on my desktop that I set up through safari, like my banking program. Prior to changing system preference to safari default I was able to open those files and now I can't get into change it back. Can you guide me through this?

System Preferences or Safari Preferences?
Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
