Can I turn off automatic uploading of new music content to iCloud

Due to slow Internet connection , I would like to have the ability to upload newly added music content to the cloud when it suits me, as apposed to automatically
Is this possible?

No, they should still be able to access everything.
What you will be doing is turning Match off on that computer. The files will still be available on any other devices.
When you turn it back on the computer will run the scan again but won't need to reupload tracks as they are already in the cloud.
If you do try this then I would be careful not to do any editing within iTunes (i.e. metadata) whilst not logged into Match, as those changes may be reversed when you log back in.
It is possible that issues like this may mean it is more hassle than it's worth, but it may be worth giving it a go.

  • Can I turn off automatic download of Itunes Extras

This has been asked before by someone else but they recieved no answers so I'll try again.
Can I turn off automatic download of Itunes Extras.  I never use them and have to delete them and they hold up downloads of what I want?
    Thanks

Thanks Michael. I had no idea that that menu was even there, and it seems odd that it's not accessible frome the regular menu bar (or is it??). But indeed, I do see it now and this may help. The reason I said this approach is still less than ideal is that it will require me to remember all of the accidental unflaggings between syncs to my computer, and then manually reflag everything.... and if I want to be sure to do it right I'll have to take notes etc, which is quite a burden just to get around something that used to work effortlessly and automatically until Apple "improved" it... But thanks!

  • How can i turn off automatic printing on my ipad mini

how can i turn off automatic printing on my ipad mini. every day My printer prints out a weekly calendar at the same time. How can I stop or disable this. Thanks

The complete backup and restore procedure is explained in the link above.
If you don't want to do a restore, then your iPad may remain in the unstable state you have for the moment.
You can change the country in the App Store. Have a look at the bottom of the App Store screen, you can change the country and also do the permanent change via Manage > Account.
You can change the language in iTunes via General Preferences > under General tab.

  • Keyboard backlight can't turn off automatically

Keyboard backlight can't turn off automatically on my MBP Retina after I installed mountain lion. It worked fine before I upgrade OX10.7 to 10.8. How can I fix it?

Ah sorry didn't notice you have XP. Power Plan Assistant is for 7 and Vista only. FYI I've been searching for the working solution days and nights before found the Power Plan Assistant software... I have to tell, there seem to be no other workarounds if you want to keep Bootcamp.exe in RAM. If you kill it, remove it from startup items in registry and reboot, there will be no keyboard backlight (pros), but as well no hardware controls at all, no delete key, no multitouch function of touchpad, etc... (idea-killer cons)

  • How can I turn off automatic loading of Bridge in PhotoShop CS2?

For the life of me I can not find the way to turn off automatic
startup of bridge in CS2. Please help....

Thanks for the reply. On my computer I am running PSCS2 and InDesign CS4. I went into InDesign Preferences and disabled running scripts. Then I opened PhotoShop, preferences and there was a option to uncheck, automatically start Bridge with PhotoShop. I swear I looked for this option 4 or 5 times and it was not there. Now either I am going looney or disabling the option to run scripts in CS4 did the trick. If any of you are still using CS2 would you confirm that the option is or is not there to disable bridge when starting PSCS2.
I am thankful that you guys have helped me to resolve this. I am still curious as to whether I am going looney....you guys are the best!

  • How can I turn off Automatic White Balance/Correction?

    Hi,
I shoot color Infra-Red images. White Balance is handled in Camera - and then in Photoshop. As a new user to Lightroom 2 - everytime I view/click on an image in the Library - the color/balance of the image changes to a deep red, and I lose all of the vivid colors that I had from the original image. The files are Nikon NEF RAW - and I am looking for a way to turn this automatic change in colors off. Can anyone help?
Thanks and have a great weekend !!!
    Dave

    Hal,
I have a Nikon D-70 that has the Lifepixel infra-red conversion. Take a look at their website and you can see the great color infra-red pictures that you can take with this converted camera. So there is my problem - I can set the camera at a PRE White-Balance and shoot Cyan/Blue/Green photos - and then import them into Lightroom. I see the photos in the Library - but as I click on them to view them, they change color to Red. Now if I set up the camera to take White Balance as Auto - or pretty much anything else other than the PRE (for which I can adjust), I will also get a Red photo. Red is OK if you want to convert to B+W - but if you want to retain all of the colors, I need to keep the color that the camera shot - without Lightroom changing them. I looked at the history - and only have an import/date. Other than clicking on it to view - no changes have been applied by me - yet. I will try to shoot them as jpg's - the ones I am working with right now were shot in the summer. We have -20 Deg. C. here right now - so Infra Red camera is in bag - have no green leaves to shoot. Looking through preferences and settings to see if I can find a "turn-off"....... Actually - let me load the photos with Bridge and see what they look like there..........

  • How can I turn off automatic startup of LR 5?

Each time I boot up the computer, or restart the computer, and each time I connect any USB device to the computer, LR 5 starts up. If there are images on a USB drive (or camera, or phone) I'm connecting - for example, to recharge the cell phone - LR 5 immediately tries to import those images. I almost never want that sort of automatic importing. I can turn off LR and "skip backup" - but there must be some setting which will allow me to have control of when LR opens and when it tries to import.
This happens on the LR 5 installation on my desktop computer, but not on the LR 5 installation on my laptop computer. Both installations are activated with valid reg codes.
    Bill Hansen

In Lightroom go to Preferences > General > Import Options.
Deselect "Show import dialog when a memory card is detected"
You don't mention your OS so note that there are slightly different locations in the drop down menus of Preferences.
OSX find it in 'Lightroom', Windows it is under 'Edit'

  • Can I turn off tab in the new Safari for ipad?

I want to turn off the tabs in the new Safari for my iPad 2. I have gone to the settings in Safari and can only select the types of tabs, why can't I turn tabs off?

You cannot turn the feature off. This is the way that Apple has now designed for it to work. If you would like to let Apple know how you feel about it, leave feedback here.

  • How can I turn off automatic right side format bar?

Using Pages 5.0 + Mavericks: When I open any Pages document (new or old), there appears a format bar on the right. It's a nuisance to have to manually close it each time. Is there some way that I can turn off that format bar so it won't appear unless I choose it?

Thanks for your reply...at least I'm not alone in failing to find a cure

  • Can you turn off automatic capitalization on the E...

Auto-capitalization is very useful, but sometimes I'd rather turn it off. Is this possible?

    Hi @justwest,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that you are wondering if you can turn off the color function on HP officiate 6600 so you can print without color cartridges. I am happy to answer this question for you!
This particular printer uses some color inks even when printing in black only. If you did run out of color and kept printing black only, you will cause problems with the printhead. FYI,HERE is the user guide to your printer, see page 72. I've also linked page yield information HERE.
Hope this answers your question, and have a good day!

  • How can I turn off automatic hyperlinks in Pages for OSX Mavericks?

Hi - I'm getting really bugged that Pages (5.2) in OSX Mavericks (10.9.2) keeps automatically making hyperlinks of any web address in a document, and even if I've edited the link to delete it, the link later reappears. I want to turn this off by default. I can't find a way to stop this and I'm getting very frustrated! Thanks!

And, in a way, it's worse than that, as I'm coming to iWork as a new user with my first Mac, having not used 09, or any other version before. However, I'm also using M$ Office (2011), which is much much better on OSX than (2013) on Win7. Having said that, and to be fair to Apple, the experience of moving to a Mac from 21 years of DOS/Windoze use has, generally speaking, been an absolute revelation and has made PC use a pleasure again. Windoze 8 finally pushed me over the edge. A few weird menu placings is a small price to pay...

  • Can I turn off automatic playing of next podcast on nano 6?

On previous models when the end of a podcast was reached the ipod would stop. This was good. Now it advances automatically to the next episode and unsets the "unplayed" flag for that episode. If I don't want to listen to the next one right away then I can stop it but the unsetting of the flag means I can't later tell what I've played; the flag may be unset because I listened to it or just because I listened to the previous one and it continued automatically before I could stop it. I rely on that flag to know what I've listened to among the many podcasts that I listen to, so this new behavior is really causing me trouble.
It would also (or alternatively) be helpful to be able to re-set the "unplayed" flag from the nano so that I can undo the damage if/when it's done.

Thanks Michael. I had no idea that that menu was even there, and it seems odd that it's not accessible frome the regular menu bar (or is it??). But indeed, I do see it now and this may help. • Can I turn off automatic reply for exchange invitations?

    Hi all,
just a quick question: I just bought an iPhone 5 for work, i'm very happy with my choice and really like iOs but there's something that bugs me, I searched the web and found nothing.
So I  setup my exchange e-mail account wich works perfectly fine, but it seems that everytime I accept or decline an invitation from my phone the phone itself automatically sends the answer to whoever has invited me wich isn't actually so bad, but i would prefer to choose that for myself. Can I go in the settings and change something there to avoid this issue?
    please let me know
    Thanks in advance
    Ben

It's the new Teac HD-radio ipod charger that you can buy at Costco for $100.
I also have the same problem when I plug in my Ipod on my Alpine Stereo...the same music always start up on the plug-in. So I'm guessing this happens on many divices. Any way to keep the music from starting up on start-up.
Thanks again for taking time to read and hopefully respond!

  • Can I turn off automatic playback when charging??

    Hi folks,
I have a charger that has speakers with it. Every time I begin to charge the phone the same music begins to play on the speakers. Not a good thing when I'm charging and my wife is asleep!
How can I disable the music from starting upon a charging cycle? I have to think there is a setting somewhere on the phone?
    Thanks for any help!
