Can I turn off icloud keychain internet account syncing

I do not want all internet accounts sync'd across all computers.  I do not want my personal email on my work computer and my work email on my personal computer.  How do I set that up for which accounts on which computers?
Roy

Hello rdegler,
The following article provides instructions for disabling iCloud Keychain.
Can I remove my iCloud Keychain from Apple's servers?
Yes. Follow these steps, starting on any one of your iOS devices or Macs that is using iCloud Keychain:
Devices using iOS 7.0.3 or later:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Account > Keychain and turn off “Approve with Security Code”.
Go to each of your other devices that is using iCloud Keychain and turn iCloud Keychain off.
Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account details.
Deselect “Allow approving using security code”.
Go to each of your other devices that is using iCloud Keychain and turn iCloud Keychain off.
After you complete these steps, your keychain data will remain locally on your devices, but changes to your keychain information will not push to your other devices or the cloud unless you turn iCloud Keychain back on. If you want keychain data to push to all of your devices, but not to the cloud, turn on iCloud Keychain on each device as described earlier in this document, but skip the step to create an iCloud Security Code.

  • HT5834 can't turn off iCloud keychain on apple devices and can't get them to sync !

i could gey my apple devices to sync icloud keychains , nor could i get them to turn off icloud key chain.
Solution: Reset icloud keycahin using forgot passcode option, it will reset the entire icloud keycahin and bring every thing back to the way it is supposed to be. approve all the devices using the one used to reset, and you are all good to go !!

You're my best friend.  Seriously.  I've read virtually every thread I could find on this issue, and this is the only thing that worked.  Has been driving me bonkers since getting the iPhone 6 in September.  THANK YOU!!

  • How can I turn off iCloud without losing my documents?

How can I turn off iCloud without losing my documents?
When I try to sign out Icloud I get the warning (( If you turn off Documents & Data, all documents stored in Icloud will be removed from this Mac))
I don,t want to remove my document on my computer, what should I do?

If you are refering to documents such as Pages and Numbers files....
The only way around this is to "save as" you icloud documents using the associated app to a local folder on your mac.  Then turn off icloud.
Of course, when you sign off of icloud, the docs are removed from the mac, but remain in icloud.  In the future when you sign back in, the documents are available to you again.
Oh, and the icloud documents are also stored locally in ...
    ~/Library/Mobile Documents
Note that Library in the user's home folder is now hidden, so you'll have to set Finder to view hidden files.
The Mobile Documents folder has subfolder where copies of the doc/data files are stored.
You can move these files to another folder to save them.

  • How can I turn off login keychain?

How can I turn off login keychain prompt?

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid. If the box labeled Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • Why does my iPod touch keep freezing when I attempt to turn off iCloud Keychain in the settings?

Everytime I try to turn off iCloud Keychain, my iPod's

  • Restoring from iCloud - when can I turn off iCloud from old phone?

Hi - I upgraded from 4S to 6 and I'm restoring from iCloud backup - it's taking a while to download all the apps and photos as I expected.  While it's downloading/restoring from iCloud can I turn off iCloud service from the old 4S or do I have to wait until it's complete on the 6?

No.  When you turn it off it removes your existing backup.  You'll have to back up to your computer using iTunes (after turning off iCloud backup it will automatically back up when you sync).

  • Can't turn off iCloud and F'd up my Calendar

I have an iPhone with my Work calendar Synced with my work computer (outlook Calendar). Also, I have iMac 27" i5 with my Home calendar (iCal).   This has worked fine and separetly for the last 3years.  My home calenders allow me to organise my life with payments and is very important. My work calendar, well that speaks for it's self.
I install iOS5 on iPhone and Lion on the iMac which unbekownence to me have iCloud syncing on and doing stuff that has totally corupted my iMac Home Calendar.
My home calendar has my work calander mixed in with my home calendar and reminders popup every few minutes that I have already dissmissed.  They won't stop popping up.  The same one over and over and they go back a month or more.
Additionally, when I try to add an event it sometimes puts it in very day instead of a monthly re-ocurring event and then it won't delete the event when I try to fix it.
I've tried to turn off iCloud, and it does all the right things and appears to turn off but then when I go back in it is on again.
The Work Calendar (Windows 7 Office 2010) doesn't show any symptoms and has kept working as it should on my work computer as on the iPhone. Neither appear to be effected
I've tried all the delete files and reinsralls but iCal seems to just get more confused. It renames calendars and is totally out of control to the point of no return.
I can't find any where which shows how to delete iCal and do a fresh install of iCal and not have iCloud sync.   I have searched Google for months and months with no joy.
What I need is to stop iCloud and **** it off permently as it appears to be a problem for how I use my apps.  I do not want to use iCloud for calander or anything just yet.   I need to get my original .ics backup in iCal that I have and working on it's own and with out the cloud or syncing.
    Help anyone ...
P.S.   I have only one profile, Admin.
I've tried another profile and it replicates and operated worse than the Admin account with iCal.
Also I have time machine back to August 2011.  I've tried all the Google fixes and none have worked

    Hmmm!
Sorry for taking so long to get back.  But the thing was none of the instruction where able to get the iCloud turned off. If anything it is for someone who moves between the Local and the iCloud than turnng off iCloud.
I want to turn off iCloud syncing in my System Preference and iCal.  iCal is syncing with iCloud and I do not want that.  My iPhone is syncing with iCloud and I don't want that either. My iPads do not I’m unsure why
Is it possible to un-sync and turn off all iCloud activities on my iMac with Lion 10.7.3?

  • Can't turn off iCloud in iTunes on MacBook running 10.6.8

I can't turn off my wifes iCloud in iTunes on her MacBook that is running 10.6.8. I have read that that way to tun this off is to go to the iCloud icon but this isn't available on 10.6.8. So how do I fix this issue? She can only get access to 50 songs and not her whole library.

Your question makes no sense, given the issue you describe.
But iTunes cloud function is under the iTunes menu >> preferences >> store.
If you mean iTunes match, that's under the store menu.

  • Can I turn off iCloud backup and keep my old backup?

Basically I am sick of being asked for money for more storage space. I cannot seem to get my iPhone backup under the 5gb free space, so the only option I see is to turn off iCloud backup. Can I do this without deleting the old (original) backup?

No.  When you turn it off it removes your existing backup.  You'll have to back up to your computer using iTunes (after turning off iCloud backup it will automatically back up when you sync).

  • Can you turn off iCloud Drive without losing data?

I enabled iCloud drive but then discovered through some articles that one should not enable iCloud Drive until Yosemite comes out and all of one's devices are running iOS8 and Yosemite on their computes.  Since enabling iCloud Drive I am missing Photostream and Pages docs that I had on my phone and god knows what else. When I went to try and turn off iCloud Drive (so I can then wait until Yosemite comes out before I re-enable iCloud Drive), I get the following message:
"Are you sure you want to turn off iCloud Drive? Some changes have not been uploaded to iCloud. If you turn off iCloud Drive, these changes will be lost." Immediately below that message is a red message that says "Delete from iPhone."
What exactly would be deleted from my phone if I turn off iCloud Drive?  What changes does the message refer to?  Why can't I just return my phone from iCloud Drive to the regular Cloud so I can access my Photostream and my Pages data?  And why on earth did Apple not alert us to the issues we would face with iOS8 if we install BEFORE Yosemite comes out?  This is so frustrating!
Thanks in advance for any advice.
    Teresa

I would love to hear that Apple has remedied this problem. From other discussion strings that I am following related to this issue, it seems thus far we remain out of luck. I did discover that if I log onto iCloud.com I can access my files that way.  Still, what a pain.
When I got the message re iCloud Drive as I was setting up my phone after the update to iOS8, it said I wouldn't be able to access my files unless all of my devices were running iOS8 OR Yosemite. That message was misleading as it really should have said all devices need to be running iOS8 AND your mac needs to be running Yosemite, as it was not an "either or" situation.  So frustrating...

  • HT1414 My iPad went dead and now I can't turn off iCloud to do a restore. Any advice?

My iPad just stopped working. I tried to follow the directions to restore it to factory settings, but it is asking me to turn off iCloud first. I can't do that since all I have is a black screen. I had 50% battery, so it's not a charging issue. Any suggestions on what to do?

Follow these instructions and place the iPad in recovery mode and restore via iTune

  • How can I turn off iCloud completely?

    Hello guys,
configuration: MacBook Pro with current Lion, iPad and iPhone both with iOS 4, NOT using iCloud.
I switched ON iCloud on my MacBook Pro to see what happens. Then I tried to switch it off again since I decided that I don't want the system to push everything I do on my computer up into the iCloud, congesting my network.
Now when I tried to turn off iCloud for my Documents and Data, it says that all data stored in the iCloud would be deleted from my Mac. ****, what's that? Will I now never again be able to detatch my computer from this iCloud thing without losing all my files?
    Please help!
    Many thanx in advance
    Keksi

An Apple guy explained to me that when I switch off iCloud for my documents, only those files would be removed from my mac, which I have explicitly UPloaded into the iCloud. Since I didn't upload any files, I could safely switch it off without losing any files.
It was more complicated switching off iCloud for iCal, because I had to convert manually all my calendars from 'iCloud calendar' to 'local calendar'. Because switching ON iCloud turns all local calendars automatically to iCloud calendars.
To do that, I had to export all my iCloud calendars to files, then delete the iCloud calendars, and then re-import the exported calendars. After that, they were again local calendars. To export an iCloud calendar, click on the "Calendar" button in iCal, then right-click on a calendar and choose "Export...", then type in a file name and click "Export".
I did that for all my calendars and so successfully switched off iCloud.
Now I just have many calendar entries two, three, four, or even five times duplicated in my calendar (which is not visible in iCal, but only on my iPhone and iPad)! I don't want to remove all those duplicates by hand (there are far too many), and will ask the apple support to help me.
    Best regards
    Keksi

  • ICloud keychain will not disable?  Can't turn off iCloud???

After updating to Mavricks on iMac and ios7 on iPhone 4s and iPad 2, I tried to enable the new icloud keychain.
First on the iMac.  After using it for a few passwords, and trying it, I enabled it on the iPhone 4s.  After trying it for a bit, the person I was helping said they didn't want passwords in the cloud...
    So.....
I went to the icloud control panel on the iMac and tried to disable the icloud keychain.  Each time I uncheck the box, it prompts "Delete from this Mac" "Cancel" "Keep on this Mac".  No matter how I answer, it rechecks the box when I click a button.
Then I tried to logout of the iCloud account.  It prompted me to disable each of the features.  It got to keychain, then said something to the effect "disable all icloud items before logging out".  But it won't let me disable keychain?
    Suggestions?

    Have you seen This:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23511969#23511969
If not, it could be that since so many apps. use ICloud, (ICAL, Mail, Safri, etc. you might have to go into each of them & disable? As I posted in earlier, try examining the login Items directly in Keychain Access App. (use the spotlight) ...but be careful, copy the passwords & attributes into a text editor b4 making changes. If you do not have the "other person's" system Log In, then you cannot proceed.
I do not use ICloud & I am waiting to make at least 3 months to change to Mavericks as well. When somthing isn't broke...
    Good Luck
