Can i un-install ios7 from my iphone4?

i downloaded ios7 directly to my iphone4, i've still got ios6 on itunes on my imac . my question is - can i go back to the older version and if so how?

Today I got told by Apple support on the phone, that it is possible to downgrade and advised to do so to get the problems solved I have with the ios 7 on my iphone 4.
Unfortunately I couldn't find yet where I could download the ios6.....

I lose speaker volume on and off after installing ios7 update on iphone4s. I reset my phone and then it just started again with the problem. It fixed it briefly

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. This will not affect data. Remove the car speakers from the phone under Bluetooth, and remove the phone from the car stereo. After that place both devices back into pairing mode and reconnect.

    Hello jayanand,
You may need to force close all open apps, then restart the phone. If necessary, you may need to reset the phone after that.

Can I un-install Yosemite from my iMac and re-install Mountain Lion?

Sorry to barge in like this but is it because you found it to have it's own way of doing stuff without your control? As i was thinking of doing the same thing because i found Mountain Lion much more user friendly.I know you came for an answer just was searching and came accross your question.
Hope you find the answer. good luck.

I call it that because I thought that was what SD termed it.  When I open any of the backup files, they mount like a disk image so, to me, that's what it is.  Sorry if my terminology confused things.

I believe so.  (However, it's a ML system and all the other computers in the house, except the dead one, still run Snow Leopard.)  In any case, the file is a sparse bundle.

That sounds ideal.  However, my Master Plan ran into a snag late yesterday.  I tried to create a backup (using SD) to get the latest stuff into an image, but SD gave an error message when it encountered one of the files (the Parallels app, which happens to be the very app that we're most keen to migrate over intact.  The error message (using AAA and BBB in place of the full paths) read:
Error copying /Volumes/AAA to /Volumes/BBB of type 8 due to error 7: Argument list too long
The file in question is one of the files internal to the Parallels app itself
    (Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/MacOS/launcher)
so I don't know if I have options to work around this and have SD go to completion.  SD aborted when it hit that error.
I have a couple of days to play around with this, to try to get a more recent backup.  Otherwise, I'll have to ponder the alternatives.

  • How can I transfer mov files from my iphone4 to PC without corrupting them?

I transferred my photos and videos from my iphone4 to my PC to make more room on my phone. After deleting the files from my phone, I realized that the mov files are corrupted. The videos mostly show grey blotches with no sound. I have tried syncing the files from iTunes, tried transferring them with Nikon photo/video transfer software, Canon transfer software, and Corel photo transfer software. Nothing seems to work. I have the latest version of QuickTime [7.6.9 (1680.9)] running on Windows Vista.
Also, can anyone recommend software for recovering .mov files? There are a lot of them that are affected.
    The jpgs transferred fine.
    Thank you!

Yes, I have tried. All smaller videos and photos transfer fine. It is only with videos > 500 MB that get created on Windows with 0 (zero) size (the file name gets created on windows but with 0 Bytes).
Let me add that I do not see the "DCIM" option from Windows Explorer. I only see the folder under Scanner and Cameras.
Anything I need to do to see "DCIM"? I do see DCIM when I connect my iPhone 4 to the same computer, but not the iPAD.
    Thanks

  • Can't boot install disk from usb drive

I bought a macbook pro back in late 2007 and up until now im getting ready to sell it. So now while restoring to factory settings, i wiped off the hard drive and i need to reinstall my install discs which i still have. However, the cd drive doenst work on the laptop. It hasnt worked since i can remember. I already imaged the instal disk into a usb flash drive and tried booting from there. When i turn it on and hold "option," it reads the flash drive as a backup, but it wont boot from it. I click the flash drive, and it loads, but then the apple logo gets replaced by a "no symbol."
I have a new macbook pro, but not a firewire cable or an external cd/dvd drive. Anyone know how i can get the old laptop to boot from the usb?
BTW, the install cd's are for tiger, but i installed snow leopard when it came out. Im not sure if i still have the cd for snow leopard, but i dont think that would help since the cd drive doenst work. Do i need to buy an external cd drive to reinstall my operating system?

Well that's your problem you used Tiger and the firmware was changed to prevent booting from the older operating system once you upgraded to Snow Leopard.
You will need a copy of the Snow Leopard disks, the white one's online at Apple will work
Then you need to follow this to make a 10.6 install USB
    http://www.maciverse.com/install-os-x-snow-leopard-from-usb-flash-drive.html
Here are the instructions to install Snow Leopard, I advise zero erasing the entire drive first, this will clear any bad sectors and make the install work perfectly when you sell it and not get call back (although the cd drive is dead of course)
You might be able to extract the free iLife off the Tiger disks, then Software Update fully to bring it up to date using Pacifist from CharlesSoft.

BTW, you can't boot/install off a external optical, only internal.

  • Can I (re)install everything from a DiskImage backup?

I assume (hope!) this is why we do backups, but I wanted to confirm The Plan.
We have an old MB Pro, running Mt Lion.  We have a DiskImage backup on an external HD.  The MBP (2007 model) just died and we'll be replacing it with a current version MBP (one of the non-retina models, if that matters).
Will we be able to simply do a 'restore' from the disk image (wiping out what's installed on the new machine) so that we get all the applications (with their keys/licenses) and files as they were on the old machine?
(In the past, when I've migrated to a new machine it was also to a newer version of the OS, so the steps were a bit different.  This time, given that the OS is basically unchanging, I'm hoping that the process is somewhat easier.)

So, two days ago, a message popped up on my iPad 2 saying that there is a new system update (iOS7) out, and I should update...I selected continue...downloaded it and then the iPad started installing it...after the installation completed, it turned off. I pushed the power button and the apple logo appeared and then it showed that cable to itunes logo. I plugged in to my computer, opened itunes (latest version) and it sais that my ipad is in recovery mode and that i should restore it. But the thing is that I have some files in my ipad such as pictures that I don't want to lose...
What can I do? Please help...

  • Can I sync new iPhone5 from old iPhone4 in iTunes on new computer?

I have an old iPhone4 & a new iPhone5 that I am dying to use but my laptop with iTunes on it died before my new phone arrived & I am a bit technically challenged. I have been given the use of my cousin's old windows laptop & I have created a new user on the laptop and installed iTunes but I cannot see any of my music, aps etc on there so I am not sure if I’ve done it properly.  I can view my account details and that’s it.  So I don’t know if I’ve done it properly.  I have iCloud and have set it up on the new laptop too, I can see my contacts & calendar but I cannot see photos in my Photo Stream album where it said they should be, which makes me wonder if I have set that up properly either.  I really don’t want to lose my latest photos since syncing my phone the last time.  I do not know if I am able to retrieve anything from my old laptop at this stage but I’d really like to start using my new iPhone in the interim of finding out.  Can anyone help me?  If plugged in my old iPhone4 into this new computer would it sync all my stuff on there into the iTunes on this new computer? And then would I be able to plug in my new iPhone5 to this computer & it would sync all my stuff on to the new phone?

    iPhones are not backup devices.
Use the backup of the old computer to put everything on the new computer.
Then you can sync the new iPhone and get all the content on it.

  • Can't Re-Install Lion from Recovery HD - Internal Drive Locked and Grayed Out

I can't boot into Lion on my Macbook Pro.  I can boot into Bootcamp.  When I'm in Bootcamp, using MacDrive, I can access all my files on my main Lion partition.  I can also boot into the Recovery HD.  From there I can get to Disk Utility which tells me that I need to repair my Lion partition.  When I run the repair, it tells me it can't be repaired.
Given that I can still access all my files from Bootcamp, I tried to re-install Lion using that selection from the Recovery HD menu.  It verifies my Lion copy over the internet.  But when  it asks me to designate the drive that I want to re-install Lion on, the drives (Bootcamp, Recovery and Mac) are all grayed out and all say "Disk is Locked". I'd rather not reinstall from my Time Capsule back up because of the time involved, the fact that the backup is a week old and because I dropped the !@#$ external drive with the back up on it yesterday and I don't trust it (it's making weird noises).
I've tried booting up in safe mode and ctrl-sys-r-p but all that happens is hours of watching the wheel spin.  I had not set up File Vault so it shouldn't be for want of a File Vault password.
Any idea how I can unlock the drive to at least try to re-install Lion?

Thanks for the idea.  I do have another Macbook at home although it's quite a bit older and I've only upgraded it to Snow Leopard, but I'll certainly give it a try. I've already tried what would seem to be about the same thing with, unfortunatley, no luck. I have an old hard drive (running Snow Leopard) that used to be the internal drive in my Macbook Pro. When I pulled it out, I stuck it in an enclosure.  When this problem cropped up, I plugged it into the Macbook Pro that's giving me grief (via USB), booted up on the enclosed drive, and ran the disk utility off of that drive against the current internal HD of the Macbook Pro.  All I got was the "can't be repaired" message.

  • How can I manually install software from recovery partition?

    Hi,
I'm looking for information about how install preinstalled software after OS upgrade.
As far as I can see, it is done through 3 different locations:
    Recovery partition (D: drive)
    SMINST Folder (located in %Windows%)
hp Folder (invisible folder in C
First step is to identify the machine (brand/model) to allow installation.
    Then, scripts will install packages.
It should the be possible to manually install the software from the recovery partition.
As far as this software is bought with the computer (so part of the price) and there is no way of getting the original installers from the support website (only updates available), it would be "fair" to be able to perform a manual install...
Is there anyone with this knowledge?
Thx in advance for your help.

I cannot believe no one replied to you.   I am having the same problem.  I can print but not scan thru the MFNP feature. I'm not sure how/why it is working for printing.   I setup the print driver on all my client laptops to my wifi router/access-point such that its SNMP-enabled on channel 1.  The MNFP port said 161 on the printer when it was working.  Not sure these two protocols are the same... SNMP and MNFP.  I think the latter is Canon's own protocol...not sure how to get it to work with my network. I have a Netgear RV6300 access point connected via wired ethernet to the cable modem which is by Arris (one of those all-in one routers/switch/WAP -- but I'm using the Netgear as my WAP for my WLAN, although the printer gets a DHCP assigned IP on the main router - 10.0.0.9)  At one point I had it set up as static IP 10.0.0.200.  Maybe I will switch back to that...don't know if it will fix scanning though.

  • Can I re-install mavericks from start up recovery mode onto usb or external hard drive?

so my hard drive hit the dust and had to buy a replacement hard drive. Unfortunately I am out of town and have no access to my original OSx disc. also, since my macbook pro is 09' I dont have an internet recovery option.
My old hard drive will boot up in recovery mode but it says that the hard drive is damaged and unrepairable. however when I boot up in recovery mode, it gives me the option to reinstall mavericks. I have a USB plugged in and when I click on the reinstall option, it asks me to select the disc where I want to install OSx. The usb also pops up but when I select it, it says
"This disk doesnt use the GUID partition table scheme. Use Disk Utility to change the partition scheme. Select the disk, choose the partition tab, select the volume scheme and then click options"
now I am no tech wiz, I can do some basic stuff but I just want to see if its possible to do get the installer onto the USB from here. is there anyway to get the installer on the USB?

i forgot to add, (and just incase it wasnt obvious) i want to get it on a usb so i can download it to the new harddrive
