Can I uninstall and go back to lion?
My computer keeps restarting for no reason ever since I installed Mountain Lion. I have to much stuff on my computer to do a complete wipe out of the system. I hate this system. I have never had a problem untill this update.
There are two basic ways to revert to Lion:
1) Erase the internal harddrive completely and Restore your system from an external harddrive containing a full backup of your Lion based system BEFORE you upgraded to Mountain Lion.
2) Erase the internal hard drive and then begin over by installing the OS X version that came on the Original Installation Disks that came with your computer when you first bought it. Install all the Updates required by that OS X version from Apple downloads online. Then Upgrade that installation to the next OS X version that you installed later in time, such as Leopard up to Snow Leopard, or whichever, and install all its required Updates from online downloading. Continue this process until you are back up to the OS X version you want to stay with, Lion.
Hope this helps

I bought the macbook with other stuff installed, but was only given the original discs. I hadn't realised that the OS and pretty much everything else had been upgraded from what was on the discs, and now I can't work on any of my documents. I have also bought software based on the operating system installed when I bought it, and now some of it is no longer usable, either.
It's bad enough I have to borrow my roommate's computer to get internet for job hunting and important communications, since Airport just stopped working (not sure what's up with that, but I hardly care now, in light of everything else), but now I need it to even write out lesson plans for my volunteer teaching or do my own writing. If I had a job, I'd have gone to an Apple certified place a long time ago to try fixing the Airport. Since I couldn't afford it, I thought I'd try reinstalling everything. I don't know much about where everythign is, so I figured maybe that would reinstall Airport, too. .
The sucky thing is, I had planned to buy more recent versions of any of the extra programs that I use once I had the money. just not quite yet.
I didn't use the 'delete and install option,' yet the earlier versions seem to have taken over and overwritten things. For instance, now some programs say parts are missing, or are just trial versions.
Lesson learned: Leave things well enough alone until you can afford the experts. Obviously there are some things I can't fix for myself.Hi!! To add more to the issue, the other day, my airport card is nowhere to be found. It now says no airport card installed which is really crazy. I also noticed that my MBP freezes during start up and I had to zap the PRAM so it would open up. Anyone there who experienced the same thing? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

Will uninstalling Mavericks and reverting back to Lion restore iMovie to 9.0.0?
I’m someone who regularly uses iMovie to edit videos for YouTube, and given that my iMovie 9.0.4 recently decided to go bonkers beyond repair, I can no longer use it, for it’s no longer on my Mac.
In short, iMovie 10 is an utter disgrace, and I want iMovie 9 back. Now, in order for me to get iMovie 9 back, will uninstalling Mavericks and reverting back to Lion (a better OS in my opinion anyway) return iMovie to its former glory? My Mac didn’t come with a disc, so how would this work?
Thanks for any help can may be provided! You should still have iMovie9 in a folder after Mavericks upgrade. It did not delete it. Check your applications.

I have my complete computer using Lion backed up on the time machine. Then I installed Mountain lion. I do not like it at all. Is there a way I can remove ML and put my old Lion system back pin my computer?
If you have got a backup, press Command and R keys in boot and restore an old backup. You can install Snow Leopard and upgrade to Lion if you haven't got the backup

firefox 5 has caused so many problems, I want to uninstall and go back to a previous version. the problem is that one of the issues 5.0 has caused is an error message when I click on "add or remove " on my control panel, so I can't remove Firefox 5. I have downloaded and run 3 supposedly good "fixers", but nothing has corrected my error issue. how can I uninstall 5.0 if I can't open the "add or remove" option? edit

Install Portable Firefox 3.6.x to your hard drive for that one website. It won't affect your current Firefox installation at all. <br />

I accidentally clicked "restore" when I meant to "back up" on my iphone 5, is there anyway I can undo that and get back to what I had?
Once the Device is being Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Restore from the most recent Backup...

How do I erase mountain lion developer preview and go back to Lion 10.7? I do not have lion or data backed up on my Air
I need a step by step instructions since I have never done this before, willing to set up partition if needed. If you installed Lion from the Mac App Store or got it with the computer, restart with the Option key held down and see if its recovery partition still exists; if it does, tab to it, use the Disk Utility on it to erase the Mountain Lion partition or repartition the drive, and install Lion onto the blank partition. If you installed Lion from the USB thumb drive, use that.

When plugging in my iPhone to my PC, I get message "The registry settings used by Itunes drivers for importing and burning CD'd and DVD's are missing..." Can I uninstall and reinstall the iTunes app without losing all the tunes I've purchased/loaded
many thanks.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Can I uninstall and install without loosing play lists
Can I uninstall and install without loosing play lists
Your iTunes folder (normally under ~/Music/iTunes) contains files that tell iTunes what you have in your library, playlists, genres, ...These database files have extensions of .itl and .xml. Deeper in the iTunes folder you have the actual media (movies, songs, tv shows).
Uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling iTunes should not impact your iTunes library. It will change iTunes settings like window size, if you have the sidebar turned on, and the like. I do recommend you have a backup of your iTunes folder but at least save copies of your .itl and .xml files.
Your question is a bit cryptic so I'm guessing at your actual question. Good luck. -
I have lost everything on my mac, a gray screen with a folder and question mark is blinking. i hav another mac that is running slowly, how can I boot and reinstall os x Lion, i do not have the start up disc with me.
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Lion uses Recovery to reinstall OS X. Press Command and R keys when your Mac starts, open Disk Utility, erase the drive and reinstall Lion. The other Mac has probably got its hard disk damaged, so take the Mac to an Apple Store
