Can I uninstall and reinstall CC?

Can I uninstall and reinstall CC whilst leaving Lightroom and Photoshop as programs on the PC?
I'm using Windows 8.
CC has a bug or something, as it just opens and freezes with a small red icon in the centre of the page.
Thanks

    many thanks.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

  • Iphoto wont start and deleted all of my photos. can i uninstall and reinstall iPhoto?

can i uninstall and reinstall my iphoto and will it fix the problem that i have with not being able to import and look at photos?

Of course you can uninstall and reinstall iPhoto - but it Probably will not help at all
But that is only a wild guess since no one has any idea what you have or what your problem is
Lets start with really simple basics - what version of iPhoto do you have? what recently changed or happened that might be related to this? What exactly does "won't start" mean?  Why do you "think" iPhoto deleted all of your photos?
Do you have a good current backup? Note that iPhoto does not "delete" photos - users can but iPhoto does not
You sate numourour problems - please describe each and be concise without editorial comments
    1 - iPhoto won't start
2 - iPhoto delete all of your photos
3 - iPhoto will not import photos
4 - iPhoto will not let you look at photos

  • Can I uninstall and reinstall "Pages" without losing files?

My Pages program may be, ...IS, ...corrupted.  (Maybe by a disgruntled co-worker?)  When I type a client's name, Pages automatically misspells it.  Same with my own name, and perhaps with other words I've not yet discovered.
I suppose I should uninstall and reinstall to see if the malware is limited to Pages or if it's a system-wide problem.  But I don't know how to do that.  I've never uninstalled a program and do not know what might happen to various files, if anything.
I've tried fixing the problem in the automatic "spell check" function.
    Ideas? Advice?
    -JS

Possibly, however, before you remove it try removing the preference files from the application These can be found in Users/yourname/Library/Preferences or /Library/Preferences.  Since the autocorrect uses the dictionary found in Users/yourname/Library/Spelling, you may want to see if the dictionary was corrupted as well.  If it is system-wide you should see it in other locations such as Numbers or if you are using Lion you will see it in Safari as well.
If you don't see the preference files also check both /Library/Application Support, and Users/yourname/Library/Application Support.

  • Can i uninstall and reinstall itunes w/out losing my library?

If so how? For some reason my itunes will no longer sync with my ipod.

I think if you are just uninstalling and reinstalling the same version of itunes, and you don't already have a problem with your library, it should be fine - however, you should copy your existing library file. The actual library file is called 'iTunes Library.itl' in your itunes folder; you should copy it to another folder just in case. Also check in iTunes help for 'saving playlists,' which might be another good thing to copy and put in a different folder just in case.
My recent experience was that I went from 7.4.2.4 to 7.3.2.6 and couldn't use my library file because it had been changed by 7.4 so it wouldn't work with 7.3. So I couldn't open itunes until I deleted the library file, which meant I had to reimport all my music and lost my playlists. It's been a big bummer, but I couldn't access the itunes store at all with the newest version and everything I tried didn't work, and I wanted to download and watch my daily shows!
I don't know if this really answers your question - I think if you are getting an error message you should try to find out why, because it seems like some people are having problems even after they reinstall.

  • ITunes was on XHD so I can't uninstall and reinstall. Help?

Because of computer issues and losing a number of laptop hard drives within 2 years, I stored my iTunes on an external hard drive. I lost access to this hard drive due to a worn out proprietary cable and have not been successful in getting a new one to access by XHD again yet. Due to this, I can't uninstall iTunes from my computer now and so cannot reinstall iTunes either.
    I run Windows Vista.
Is there anyway this can be remedied?
I know there was talk going around of using a Windows Cleanup Utility or something, but Windows support boards said it was discontinued because it harmed other files and aspects of your computer. So, not including that either.

Due to this, I can't uninstall iTunes from my computer now and so cannot reinstall iTunes either.
Are you getting an "Invalid drive" error message? Or is something a bit different going on?

  • How can I uninstall and reinstall Adobe AIR so that AIR apps will find it?

I installed Master Collection CS5.5 Trial, and I can run Photoshop and other apps, but Help, Content Viewer and Widget Browser won't run, they give an error message "This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found."
Before I installed the trial, there was no AIR installed (Clean Windows install)... After the trial is installed, I note that AIR 2.5 has been installed - and yet I get the above message. I try uninstalling 2.5, get the same message. After restoring the previous image (which does not have AIR installed yet), I go to <www.adobe.com/go/getair> as instructed; it seems to download 3.2, it shows up that way in the program list, but still same messages and I cannot uninstall this version either (3.2, same message).
I followed the recommendation from here (and Microsoft) to use Mr. Fixit to uninstall, which appears to work successfully, and then reinstall from <www.adobe.com/go/getair>, which also appears to go successfully, but same erorrs as before.
I restored the backup image again (no AIR), and try to download the trial version online, I download the Download Assistant, it runs and downloads AIR 3.2 and apparently downloads it, and yet it STILL gets the same message as above, and it too cannot be uninstalled (same message when uninstall is tried)
I can't find any way to attach the log file, so /i will quote it inline here:

As an alternative I am re-downloading the MC 5.5 through direct link instead of the Download Assistant which does not work, but I expect it will have the same problems.
    Thanks.

Can you try the following for me.
Run the microsoft fix it and have it uninstall AIR
Delete the folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR (this might also be in Program Files(x86))
    Delete the folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
    Delete the folder: C:\Users\chris\AppData\Local\Adobe\AIR
Install AIR 3.2 by itself, from: http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/3.2/AdobeAIRInstaller.exe
Install Adobe Community Help from here: http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/air/350/AdobeHelp.air
Does the AdobeHelp.air file install if you double click it?

  • Can I uninstall and reinstall apps I've installed?  Want to move to an external drive.

After downloading a few of the apps, I realized that I'd rather install them on an external drive.  Is there any problem with uninstalling and then reinstalling the apps I've already downloaded?

Yes, you can uninstall your CS6 applications from Control Panel(Windows) or Utilities(MAC) depending on the operating system you have. You can uninstall and re-install it "n" number of times on the same machine.
You can change the install location from Adobe Application Manager(File->Preferences)

  • I can't uninstall and reinstall itunes?

    Hey,
For the past few months I have had several problems with Itunes.
    1. I can't use the itunes store because the screen in itunes store is completely white
    2. I can't install the updated version of itunes and quicktime, I get error messages
    3. I can't uninstall itunes because it says itunes doesn't exist
    4. I can't install itunes again from the website because it gives me error messages and shuts down
    5. I can't install or unistall itunes at  all from any location

You likely have a deepr problem either with Windows or malware on your system.
Sounds like you need to backup your files and do a factory restore of Windows:
Once you've done all this Windows will be extremely responsive, and iTunes likely will run with no issues at all.
    Factory Restore instructions:
1: Backup all your files to cd/dvd. if possible as it's write/delete protected or a hard drive.
2: Consult your PC vendor site how to do a "factory restore". Old machines used a disk, new ones have a encrypted locked partition on the drive someplace usually called "Recovery". Before you start, make sure the computer can't connect to the Internet. This may mean turning off your router and disconnecting Ethernet cables. You need power and you need to set the screensaver & monitor NOT to activate or sleep in your Control Panel (and set again after you restored)
3: Note that your going to lose everything, that's the object. And get the machine like it was when you bought it. (All self installed programs you'll install again from fresh sources later)
The factory restored anti-virus, Flash, Java, Reader, and all old programs on it are vulnerable. These all your going to have to remove, along with the PC vendor bloatware, trial ware, games and other garbage. In your Add/Remove Programs. If you don't do this, these old programs will get online and do a update and your machine can get pawned. Why you don't want a internet connection until they are removed. You just want Windows and nothing else. Enable your Windows Firewall in Security.
4: Now get online with a wired Ethernet connection to a fast Internet service at home, because (Vista over 200 updates, 2 days) and Windows 7 (SP1 + Win Live, a few hours) is going to take some time.  Windows Update is in your Control Panel/Security or Start Menu > All Programs.
Install and activate the free Microsoft Security Essentials or free Avast anti-malware the first chance you get.
When doing Win 7 SP1, if it seems to stop, there is a Windows Live window behind the update window that needs to be "ok-ed" before it continues.
Vista updates are going to be especially painful, just rinse, reboot and repeat over and over until you get them all and there is nothing more it will give.  Check the Start Menu > Shutdown for a indicator that it's going to install updates and perform the restart. You must keep clicking the "check for updates" until it's really clear.
5: Once the updating pain is over, you need to do a Windows Disk Cleanup and a Defrag before adding programs. (important for speed!) This can take hours. Will make Windows considerably faster.
6: Optional (good for notebooks): You can head to Performance > Advanced Setting and tone down Windows eye candy. Set to custom and delete everything but four options, the thumbnails, font and box smoothing and the last one. (or Windows will look like basic XP)
7: Make sure you do a System Restore Point of this "pristine" and very fast Windows. If you have the ability to make System Restore Disks and Images to DVD's DO IT!! Save yourself having to do this again one day.
8: Now install your programs and plugins: Flash, Java, Firefox 4 (fastest and the best) VLC, LibreOffice. CCleaner. etc.., Recommended sites: Qualy's Browser Check/ Mozilla Browser Check.
9: If your computer is still slow, check the RAM. Windows 7 & Vista needs 2GB just for themselves. So add more to your 4GB max (or more if your on 64bit). Check Crucial.com to make sure you get the right RAM specs for your computer.
10: Do a malware scan of the external drive/cd/dvd's before transferring files, always download new versions of programs from fresh sources so they are free of lingering malware. If all possible, use a Mac or Linux machine to scan for malware as they are much safer operating systems by default. Free ClamXav for OS X, ClamWin for Windows, Clamav for Linux. Update those malware definitions before a scan.
    Good Luck!

  • Can I uninstall and reinstall iTunes?

    Hi,
Is it possible to uninstall iTunes on Mac OS X Tiger and reinstall it, and if so, how? I made the mistake of using a third-party app to fiddle with iTunes and I think it screwed up the file count on my home disk so I want to try a reinstall of just iTunes. I vaguely remember seeing somewhere that iTunes was part of the Tiger OS and could not be uninstalled.

iTunes is not part of X 10.4 (Tiger) but it does get installed as one of the applications.
Are you wanting to reinstall the version that shipped with Tiger or will a more current one suit your needs?
There is no "uninstaller" for iTunes. You have to manually hunt it down and trash it bit by bit. Just be careful not to throw out your music in the process.
Best way would be to start with a "Find" using iTunes as the criteria. Again, do not delete your music.

  • Can I uninstall and reinstall iMovie without paying for it again?

My iMovie crashed recently, and I want to reinstall it again so that it will work. Basically, my iMovie '11 came with my OS X Mavericks update (so you could say it's preinstalled) and what I want to ask is this: can I open Launchpad and delete it from there (effectively removing it) and reinstall the app again from the App Store without having to pay for it again? In my "Purchases" section it says iMovie '11 has been installed.
    Thanks!

my QT wont launch either the error i get there is: quick time failed to instilize error number -2095 please make sure quick time is properly installed on this computer
my apologies, clschofield58 , i accidentally linked you to the wrong post. here's the careful standalone install technique.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.0.3 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
switch off all background applications prior to the install (especially antispyware and antivirus):

    will itunes launch after that?

  • Can i uninstall and reinstall an app

Since there are sounds missing in my app, and I am aware i might not have cheked the box garage band I want to uninstall my logic pro app, is it possible ?
Will apple let me reinstall without asking me to pay a second time
    Thank u

Uninstalling the app is not necessary, it will not help/solve or help solve your issue at all. Just open Logic and use the menu command Logic Pro > Download Additional Content... anything you forgot to tick the first time should still be available.
To answer your now superfluous question: yes, you can redownload Logic Pro without having to pay for it again.

  • Adobe CS6 can I uninstall and reinstall on a different mac even after using up 2 licenses?

I have Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium on my macbook pro and would like to put it on my iMac too. However i'm worried that if i was to replace my macbook pro I would have to buy a new adobe package again. Is this true?

You can install the software on as many machines as you like.  The important tjhing that you need to manage is the activations.  You are allowed to have two activations for a single user license.  If you have the siioftware working on two machines already, then you have to deactivate one of them in order to free up an activation for the new machine.
Uninstalling does not deactivate the software, so if you uninstall you lose the ability to perform the deactivation.
To deactivate you normally just need to open an application in the suite and choose Help -> Deactivate.

  • How can I uninstall and reinstall the latest upgrade if that is my problem.

I can only get Firefox to open when I initially startup my computer. If I open the mail first, I can't get into Firefox. I can use the email while Firefox is open, but if I have closed Firefox I can't open any links in the mail messages. I have to shut down or log off and restart to get back into Firefox. It acts like something is stuck open and blocking access. The little green bar which usually indicates something is loading is solid and stationary when this happens.
Also, the email message doesn't automatically close when I go to the next one, like it used to.

You are right. I found Mozilla 2.0.0.12 listed in the Control panel add/remove files. When I clicked on updates available a 3.1.4 appeared. Should I try the '''remove''' for the 2.0.0.12 and the '''install''' for the 3.1.4 or must I get the 3.1.4 as a download somewhere?
I also found two icons on my desktop: Foxfire problem and Foxfire problem files which contains numerous recently added files. What is the significance of these and what, if anything, should I do with them.
I have not tried using the computer, except for this reply, to see if the problems have been corrected by any of the additions.
