Can I uninstall Pages 5.5.2 and go back to an earlier version? I have Yosemite 10.10 and am working on a MacBook Air. The new version of Pages does not auto capitalize first word in sentence or "I" and I need these capabilities.

That Preference does not exist in Pages 5.5.2, you have to use Pages '09.
To get rid of Pages 5.5.2 just drag it from your Applications to your trash, but be warned that any documents you created in Pages 5.5.2 will first need to be Exported back to Pages '09 format to0 be opened in Pages '09.

I can NOT take the continual freeze ups of my entire browser even worse when updating a page let alone just opening email. I closed the browser and have had to use even just microsoft or Google since this Firefox has gotten so horrible...
I clear my history and my cache so many times a day I can not keep track anymore and that is insane to have to do it as many times as I am even worse that it does not help in the least!

To run Snow Leopard it has to be an Intel processor, not a G4. What does it show as the Model Identifier in About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Model Identifier?
Second, if you have erased the hard drive there should not be remnants of any prior content. Even though Disk Warrior is saying nothing is wrong with the hard drive, it sounds as though there are problems. You may want to consider simply replacing the hard drive so there are no questions about faults. A good source is OWC, http://www.macsales.com where they also have on-line videos showing how to do the replacement.
Third, you could also try again to restart using the Snow Leopard DVD/CD and use Disk Utility on that install disk to erase again, and do it a couple times, then try to install. If it continues to refuse, then it sounds as though there is a fault with the hard drive. -

It seems that Apple is trying to turn its computer applications into iphone apps. They are eliminating essential features and functions that don't work on a 600 dollar pocket watch. It appears to be part of a misguided attempt to have universal cross-platform compatibility. Or they just want to get out of the computer business. I suspect that accountants are having too much influence on business models. There is a place for accountants. But giving too much control to bean counters can eliminate quality and cripple innovation, leading to the ultimate downfall of the corporation. -

Did you remove Quicktime X?
On a normal install Quicktime 7 is installed in the Utilities folder and Quicktime Pro in the main Applications folder.
You will need to reinstall OS X to get Quicktime X back if you have deleted it.
I notice yor profile says 10.5.8. Quicktime X is only available on 10.6 and above. -

I can't open pages files from USB and iCloud due to : "The necessary file index.xml is missing". Original file is written on iMac (2014) and saved to an USB stick and then transferred till macBook Pro (2009, Yosemite) for editing. Then I shared the files by iCloud but I am not able to open them on iMac again. Niether can I use the USB stick to transfer the edited files back. I'm running Pages '09 4,1 (923) on the macBook and Pges 5.5.2 (2120) on the iMac.
HåkanPages 5.5.2 is extremely incompatible with even other Macs let alone the vast majority of PC and MsWord users out there, so not a good idea to leap into the fire with both eyes shut.
After having done that to the first Pages 5 files, Apple has repeatedly done it to even the most minor point updates. Apple can't even anticipate its own erratic changes let alone what everyone else needs doing.

One simple way would be to completely uninstall your keyboard drivers, updated that they are, and reinstall from scratch, then deny the unwanted updates the right to install.
Another way is to get details about the culprit by using Terminal and typing the following commands:
grep swupd /etc/swupd/com.apple.server.swupdate.plist > ~/Desktop/update_list.txt
(This will get you a list of software updates you've installed on you Mac, in text format, directly on your Desktop)
Then:
sudo rm -rf /usr/share/swupd/html/xxx-xxxx/
(Where "xxx-xxxx" stands for the actual update number you want to delete)
You'll have to reboot your Mac, and hope that the rollback that will ensue will take place without a glitch. You may find your keyboard unresponsive at first, time for the system to fetch the old driver back from it was stored. -
