Can I uninstall TimeMachine and reinstall it to get it to work properly?
I have used a Lacie Stark 1Tb USB drive as a TimeMachine backup drive for a few years with no problem.
The I attempted to set up a WD MyBookLive NAS drive as a wireless backup drive (without success, even with professional help and trawling the internet and Apple forums, so I gave up on that), and when I deleted the WD settings etc as a backup drive, I now find the Lacie also does not work, despite going back to standard TimeMachine backup settings.
Can TimeMachine be uninstalled and reinstalled to get it back to factory settings? It seems to be a default program.

With regard to TM not supporting backing up to a NAS unless it is Time Capsule, someone should tell WD because an entire section of their user manual, and some standard WD MBL settings, are all about how to back up to a WD MBL using TM. It 's possible to use Target Disk Mode between your iMac and the MBP in order to clone the MBP to the iMac. However, that will still erase everything on the iMac's drive.
Or you could see about getting Yosemite to work correctly. If you have IMAP mail, then your mail should be intact.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Download and install the 10.10.1 update.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Download and install the 10.10.1 update.
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.

For the past few weeks I guess every 5 MINUTES ! Firefox freezes and the top bar reads NOT RESPONDING it stays that way for abit and is frustrating ! Please can someone help me with a problem I'm having with my garage band app?
Not to long ago I was using my garage Band app and I was making some songs when all of a sudden it closed on me I was so mad because I was in the middle of making a song so I never got to save it , so I continued to try to open the app again but now all it does is it seems to get ready to open but then it shuts off without even opening . I went to trouble shooting and have done everything except for uninstalling the app reason why is I'm afraid of all my work on there will be deleted and I won't be able to get it back.
I only know just a little about iPads mine is and ipad2 and I need someone's help is there a way for me to fix this without erasing the work I've done on there. And or should I just wait for garage band to have an update on the App Store and update it without deleting it? Please I don't now what to do.
If someone could walk me through what is wrong what I need to do and how etc.

Simachyahi .I have tried all those things I even updated the software to the new iOS system and it still did fix my problem.
What happened is that my garage band looks like it will open then it shuts down.
I have lot of important things on my garage band and I'm afraid that if I uninstall it deleting it then reinstalling it all my work on it will be gone and I can't have that happen.
Everyday I am hoping that when i go to open the app that is will work but it doesn't it gets ready to turn on then it shuts off , the app doesn't even open all the way and turns off.
I really hope I don't have to erase it.
It'll say it's ,lading my songs then it shuts down .
If I waited for the App Store to come up with an update for garage band should I wait till then to update my app so it doesn't get damaged . I don't want to erase it and all my data get erased . I figured if I wait for an update then my garage band will reset itself but won't delete my data. I'm not sure if that will help. Is there anything you or anyone else might know that can help me with this matter ?

my itunes is not working at all. A message pops up to say that I may not have suffient privileges to start system services on my apple mobile device.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes but the same message still appears and itunes will not start.

Norton has actually tried to get a update patch out for Firefox 5.0 back on Tuesday (versus taking some six weeks) when Firefox 5.0 was released. However I think some say the toolbar may not work if patch was installed before Firefox 5.0 and not after.

I recently updated the add-on StumbleUpon which offered a tool bar. Since then I do not get the line which has the URL space as well as other functions. I am now forced to use IE. A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete. -
