Can I uninstall version 9 and put back version 8 ?
I upgraded to version 9 of itunes but I don't like it, I liked the old show by genre on home page instead of the new itunes peddling particular artist and albums. Can I uninstall version 9 and put back version 8 ? does this matter to my iphone ?
You can go back to version 8, but it isn't easy. iTunes 9 has already upgraded your library and you'll have to find your backup library to use with iTunes 8.
I have found that the iTunes 9 store interface offers some advantages, but it takes some exploring to find everything. You can use the down arrows that appear as you mouse over each category at the top of the iTunes store home page to display whatever you like. One simple way would be to completely uninstall your keyboard drivers, updated that they are, and reinstall from scratch, then deny the unwanted updates the right to install.
Another way is to get details about the culprit by using Terminal and typing the following commands:
grep swupd /etc/swupd/com.apple.server.swupdate.plist > ~/Desktop/update_list.txt
(This will get you a list of software updates you've installed on you Mac, in text format, directly on your Desktop)
Then:
sudo rm -rf /usr/share/swupd/html/xxx-xxxx/
(Where "xxx-xxxx" stands for the actual update number you want to delete)
You'll have to reboot your Mac, and hope that the rollback that will ensue will take place without a glitch. You may find your keyboard unresponsive at first, time for the system to fetch the old driver back from it was stored. -

In fact, when you clear cache you actually slow your system down until cache is reloading again.
Yes, it is true cache can get corrupt and have to be cleared. This happens so infrequently that it is almost never a required solution unless you have problems that are specific to corrupt cache.

I would love to answer your question about photos/slide show, but I realized that I don't have any photos at the moment on my touch. I had to restore it earlier this week and I guess they got lost. Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.
The Google Toolbar 7.1.20110512W version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.

How can I uninstall ilife 06 and go back to ilife 05?
At least for idvd, it is such a pain. I need to get a project burned to dvd, and even though the sound files are playing in idvd and they are in the file, the sound files do not play when the dvd is burned.
I've wasted too many DVD's and too much time trying to figure out what the problem is.
Tried to install idvd 5 from the ilife 05 disk. It goes through the motions but didn't do anything.
What files need to be deleted first?Are you really still running OS 10.3.8 as shown in your profile?
My Panther machine is at 10.3.9.
I'm only trying to run the iLife '06 applications on my Tiger machine with 10.4.4
BTW, the iLife '06 box says "v10.3.9 or v10.4.3 or later. v10.4.4 recommended"
If you really are still at 10.3.8, that might account for your problems. -

Easy steps
Locate the document in the Finder.
Control/Right-Click on its icon.
Select Show Package Contents
All images and embedded objects appear in ‘Data’ folder

I couldn't install iMovie because my Mac is too old (must be Intel-based or comparable). iDVD didn't work--the document window was always black, even with a theme selected. The Virtual Band function in GarageBand did nothing whatsoever. I trashed the '08 applications, moved all Preferences files to my desktop, reinstalled iLife '06. Now, iDVD won't launch--just flashes the menu bar and exits back to the Finder. So, I have several DVD projects on my system that I cannot finish because I cannot reinstall iLife '06 (like the originator of this problem, "How can I uninstall iDVD '08 and install iDVD '06?") I hope someone has an answer as this is frustrating and costly to my small business.

I should mention that if you are deadset on using a Mac, then you can run Windows 7 or 8 in Parallels. You will find about a 10% speed reduction using a VM emulation. You will also need to have at least 8 GBs of RAM in your Mac to assure optimum performance of both OS X and Windows. Do not install a later version of Windows than is supported by your software.

ciao, I've got some problema with my Image reader app. Since last sync it started to mix pages order, pages that are correctly nominated and were dispalyed in the correct order since the last sync. unfortunatelly I haven't a backup and I would like to avoid to ripristinate it as I would loose my App documents. Judging from your description of the packages you sold and the cost of producing such packages, I assume they come from such a source.
