Can I unsync ipod without host computer?

Well can I? Also how do I set up my mutiple ipods to work with my multiple computers?
Thanks
Travis

You can only sync an iPod shuffle with a single iTunes library/computer, they are not designed for use with multiple libraries or computers. If you have other models of iPod that you want to use on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos":
Using iPod with Multiple computers
Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Syncing Music to iPod

  • How do I transfer music from my iPhone to my iPod without a computer ?

Is it possible to transfer the music from my iTunes on my iPhone to my iPod without a computer?

No.  The music must stored in an iTunes library on a PC or Mac first. From there you can sync it over to the iPod.

It's not designed to work like this. When you sync, the iPod stores some information that basically says 'this iPod belongs to computer xyz'. Apple did this to prevent copyright issues (syncing someone else's music).
If you really want to do this, you'll have to at least tie both iTunes installations to the same account. Maybe have them sync with each other.

  • How do i move songs from apple id to my new ipod without a computer

I do not use a computer to purchase songs but rather purchase them straight from my iphone.  I now would like to also use those songs on my ipod nano but I do not have a computer to sync the ipod with.  How does a person put songs on their ipod without a computer? Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no way to do so.

My mac seems to have a virus thats connected with a few apps i use and i can't use them without my computer glitching out even though i've reinstalled the apps a few times.  It's very frusterating especially when i'm doing someting when my  computer randomly freezes or justs logs out for no reason when i'm using the apps.

    Matthew,
if you boot your MacBook Pro in Safe mode, do those apps still behave in the same way?

  • Restore ipod without a computer?

i wont bore you but my 160gb 6g ipod needs restoring. I have tried putting it into disk mode, but my computer does not notice it is plugged in. Ive tried many cables, and discharging + fullly charging the battery. Interestingly enough, when i run HDSMARTDATA in the diagnostics menu, it says temp:min is 51C , which is surely wrong. There must be a way of restoring it to factory settings without a computer, since there must be a lot of problems that can only be solved by this.
Thanks to anyone who tries to help

try using another computer to restore it then use your own computer to sync your ipod

  • Can you navigate Ipod Touch via computer? Un-Jailbroken

Im curious to know if there is any way to navigate my Ipod touch 4th Gen via computer? I recently broke my screen at work and it was no biggie till it began to bleed in spots and eventually going white. Before it was just cracked and i was able to navigate effortlessly with no issues and now it is impossible cause i can't see what im doing. I ask because i still wanna use it,mainly the camera but am unable to get around. Is there a way to navigate via computer,or use my camera via computer as my screen? Im unable to afford to fix it at this point (other priorities) so im looking for a temporary solution till it is feasible for me to repair it. my ipod is not jailbroken so im unable to use its advantages but any ideas or solutions that can help or lead me in a direction related to what im looking for, will be greatly appreciated. And any help on navigating the screen without seeing what im doing. Thanks!

No. No way control the iPod from your computer. If yo could navigate a little on the iPod is at least one app that allows you to use the iPod's/iPhone's/iPad's camera by a computer program. I know the there is a program for a Mac but I do not know about Windows. However, you need to be able to open that app on the iPod.

  • So, what, I can't charge iPod without a PC - using a wall or car charger?

Hey, hopefully you guys will be more useful than Apple's support line, saying that Apple won't support non-Apple accessories (that is, basically, everything... since Apple didn't even provide a charger with the iPod to begin with). Basically (and even specifically) saying that Apple doesn't recommend using anything but a computer to charge.
That means no charging at work, no charging in the car, no charging whenever it's "convenient"... only charging when iPod is connected to a computer. That's the predicament I'm in now.
If I plug iPod into any device that starts iPod up as a disk device (MSD driver), it'll start charging. If I don't plug it into something that initializes it as a disk (i.e. a 5vdc USB charger), it won't charge. If I plug it into a powered hub without a computer, it doesn't charge. If I plug that same hub into a computer (keep in mind, it's still getting power from the adapter here), guess what? It charges.
What, the crap. Why did Apple do this? Most of the reason I chose to finally buy an iPod (even though I'm plenty happy with my other MP3 players) was because of the plethora of innovative third party add-ons. Now I can't use a charger? What gives?
Or is there really something wrong with my iPod? I've tried several USB chargers that work with my other USB devices (my Pocket PC, my phone, etc), that don't work with iPod. Strangely enough, Google revealed that nobody else seems to be having a similar problem, or if they are, that it's because the USB charger is underpowered (which, while is understandable for my cheesy Chinese USB device chargers, is not the case with the powered hub).
    Thoughts?

I didn't even know about a video-out spec change (nor do I use video out, I just got my first iPod!)...
Just, what has me ticked is that I can charge any of my other USB-charging devices like my cell phone and PDA, by just providing +5v to the USB port like a powered hub does without a computer, or a cheap Chinese car adapter does. That's how I modified my cell phone's provider-branded data cable to charge the phone via USB - as it stood, it would only provide data through the cable and drain the battery even though the phone was being provided +5v into its USB circuit. I simply soldered a couple wires ("open source" hardware I call it - the connector simply unscrews and has all its contacts exposed to tweak with!). Easy fix.
But what I find with the iPod is that it's the only device that needs to be "forced" to charge even when it has 5 volts sitting right in front of it. Strangely (and sadly), I did a Google on the iPod dock connector and found on the iPod Linux wiki that there actually needs to be a resistor in place between a couple of USB pins in order to force the iPod into "charging" mode when connected to +5v. So basically, yeah, it will charge, but since my hub isn't an iPod charger, and the cheap chargers I have (that only provide USB 5v) don't have that resistor, I guess it was just ignoring it.
Great job leaving the consumer guessing, Apple. At least now there's a forum post on this (irritating) subject for those of us that don't associate "new device" with "new accessories" but instead find ways to make our old accessories work for the new devices. Guess it's to the soldering iron with me...

  • Can I sync iPod on another computer

I have an iPod nano that I had synced to another computer that crashed. I would like to sync my iPod to another computer without losing all my songs that are existing on iPod. Is this possible?

You can't do an iPod to computer transfer of song files using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can do an iPod to computer transfer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your new computer, add them to that computer's iTunes library.  You can then sync your iPod nano to that computer's iTunes library.

  • I can see my ipod in My Computer, but not in itunes - Why?

I can see my ipod nano in My Computer, but can't see it in iTunes under available devices.
I have tried uninstalling iTunes, reinstalling but this doesn't help.
I can see the ipod using someone else's iTunes.
    What is wrong?

The top:-300 is putting that div above the top of the browser viewport. Fix that and you'll see the div.

  • Can't access ipod photos on computer

I can't access my ipod photos on my computer. the usb connecter seems to be working fine, its can charge my ipod and i can still sync music and stuff with it but i've noticed that the "autoplay" option (to ask to open device, import photos etc) no longer pops up when i connect it (even though all control panel options on hardware and sound -> auto play has all devices on "ask me every time"). I've also found out when i do connect my ipod, i cant find it on the computer (device with removable storage etc). i have an ipod touch, iOS 6.0. i've tried restarting both computer and ipod with no luck...

There have only been 4 things that i've done before this happened:
    1. i've taken 1000 more photos
    2. i've synced my old songs to my ipod which made me have to transfer purchases and use a different apple ID
    3. i attempted to update both my iOS software and itunes but it didn't work
    4. i installed snapchat recently (only app i've installed within the last 3 months)
there are photos in my camera roll. i've tried using the photo management software on my computer (windows 7) but it says that my device is not there and now, whenever itunes reads my device, it stops responding. itunes and iOS software is not up to date. i tried updating (as previously said) but failed. I've tried using a different computer and a different usb connector but it can never sense my device anymore. I used to backup my photos every month and delete most of them. I'd rather not send 1000 photos to myself to save them, unless i really have to.
do you think i should delete snapchat?

  • Can't find iPod on my computer

I have connected my iPod to my MacBook hundreds of times without a problem. However, just tonight I connect it, on the iPod screen is has the "Do no disconnect" message displayed.... However the iPod doesn't come up on my computer or iTunes. What could have made the suddenly happen? Would really like anyone's help with this as it's just really odd!!!
    Thank you!

Well, here's the real deal about all this. Apple told me, "The issue is directly caused by the 1.2.3. update and they are "looking' at he problem but don't take it too seriously because there are not enough iPods having this problem to allocate any real steps to fix this the problem". DO NOT UPDATE TO 1.2.3. IT WILL RUIN YOUR IPOD! The real problem is IF THEY FIX THIS PROBLEM HOW ARE WE TO FIX OUR IPods? If it is a download, no good because there is no way to sync your iPOD to your computer to download the fix. Same problem with a CD fix. The only way to have our iPods fixed is to send them in and APPLE will NEVER pay for that. Finally if your WARRANTY IS LAPSED, YOUR SCREWED.
GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY YOUR NEW PAPER WEIGHT!

  • Can you use AirPrint without a computer

I found out that there will be no printer in the Paris apartment we will be using, but there is wifi.  We will have need of a printer, and would bring one, but don't want to bring our laptops.  We just want to use ipads and iphones this trip, but would need to be able to print via airprint to an airprint-enabled printer with no computer involved on any level.  Printers that seem to say no computer is needed to print via airprint still include CDs which must be installed on a computer.  Theoretically, I guess if you set the printer up here with a computer, the printer could then be used elsewhere without a computer--but there is no way to put a network wifi password into most printers without a computer.  Does anyone know of a transportable, relatively inexpensive printer that will truly not require a computer to work with airprint?
Thanks!  This has been a continuing problem, as we will be there for a month.

There are other technologies besides Airprint, and many of them require a computer.  An airprint printer does not.
Check the airprint printers listed here (click on the brand to get a page of models) ...
