Can i update from cs3 to cs6

No.  There is no longer an upgrade path from CS3 to CS6.

Hi, I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection, can I upgrade my Premiere Pro CS3 within this suite to CS6 on it's own or do I have to upgrade the entire suite?

Entire Suite... Adobe does not offer upgrades for any individual program in a suite, only the entire suite

You may want to re-download the plugins from where you bought them and install them fresh for CS6. Or at a minimum check to see if new CS6 versions are available. The underlying architecture changed for plug-ins when CS6 was released. Some developers had to re-write CS6 versions. Some may work, while others may have had to be updated to work with CS6.

  • Upgrade from CS3 to CS6 font compatibility issues...

i recently upgraded from cs3 to cs6. my old true type font library does not show up in the new software. question: what type format must i buy to be compatible with the cs6 master collection?

Okay...it's a brand new computer (Dell XPS 8500) and I just bought one of the products before I realized that the CS3 wasn't compatible with Windows 7.  Do I delete the CS3 and reinstall the after-market product?  Or do I delete the after-market product and reinstall and it automatically finds CS6?
I've been trying to get this running for three days!  LOL  I'm ready to throw it out the window....
Thanks for your speedy reply and thanks in advance for any more light you can shed on my situation!

  • Upgrade from CS3 to CS6 -- after market stuff gone!

After my upgrade from CS3 to CS6, my after-market items are not showing up.  (Kubota Action Dashboard, Totally Rad Actions RadLab...)
My inexperience assumed that the CS6 would overwrite the CS3 in the upgrade, but now I have two programs....one with my after-market products and one without.
    Any help out there??
    Thanks in advance...

  • Transfer setting from CS3 to CS6

How do I transfer settings, preferences, actions and plugins from CS3 to CS6?
    Flash and Photoshop?
I have a few that I purchased from a third party. What folders to move or what files? I want to avoid redundant items if possible when installed in CS6.
    Thanks

Please repost in the Flash and Photoshop forums separately. The people who use those programs will be in the best position to help. My bet is that settings, preferences won't transfer. Actions and Plugins maybe. Plug-ins probably have to be updated for compatibility.

  • Upgrading from CS3 to CS6

Can I buy the upgrade only to go from CS3 to CS6 ?

I'm very surprised that Adobe has apparently started a "one version back" upgrade policy.
Yes, it generated a big outcry when it was announced in late 2011.
Originally the dispensation for CS3 and CS4 users did not exist. It was "one version back" across the board, effective immediately. That, frankly, stank. Made everyone mad, not least the habitual version skippers who were stranded on CS3 or CS4 still in the "three versions back" mindset.
Took a lot of concerted campaigning from grass roots users as well as some very influential key Adobe users such as Scott Kelby http://scottkelby.com/2011/an-open-letter-to-adobe-systems/to change Adobe's corporate mind and reintroduce some fairness and sanity to the situation.
Eventually Adobe saw the light and conceded to a 31 Dec 2012 cutoff for CS3 and CS4.
However, I'm expecting to see some irate CS3 and CS4 users in the forums in January 2013.
That said, I personally believe that traditional licensing (pay once upfront and use forever) for Adobe products is in its sunset phase being slowly prepared for retirement. Pure speculation on my behalf. I'm of the opinion that Adobe will go Cloud-only with all its software delivery sometime within the next 5 years so this "one version back" nonsense will probably become a moot point.

  • Can I upgrade from CS3 directly to CS5 or 5.5?

Or do I need to buy CS4?

Not sure which product you have (suite or standalone), but they all have different upgrade prices depending on which version you already own. You can upgrade directly from CS3 to CS5. It'll be more expensive than the CS4 to CS5 upgrade, but cheaper than upgrading to CS4 first, then to CS5. The last option would assume that you can even find a copy of CS4 to purchase.

  • Can I update from a 10.6.8 to a 10.7 on my MacPro?

    can I update from a 10.6.8 to a 10.7 on my MacPro?

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

  • HT6114 can i update from os 10.4.11 easily?

can i update from os 10.4.11 easily?

What Mac have you got and its specification? I take it you mean OS X not IOS?
Are the applications you use compatible with Mavericks or are they upgradeable (at perhaps a cost)?
Are your peripherals compatible with Mavericks?
You will need to do some research and at least check the above, I think you may find it difficult to upgrade easily or at all from 10.4.11 but it depends on the questions I have put and perhaps some more?
Post the details of your Mac and its spec and we can start from there.

Yes, when you update you should lose any data, but make sure you have a Time Machine backup just in case.

  • Can i update from os x 10.5.8 to mountain lion

can i update from os x 10.5.8 to mountain lion

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is once again available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

  • Can't update from os x 10.3.9, need to update to latest v.

Need to up date because i'm installing final cut studio. can any one gide me? please.

    Juan:
No, you can't update from Panther to Tiger, you need to install a completely new OS.
To install Tiger your computer will need to meet the minimum system requirements for Tiger.
You will need to purchase the Full Retail version of Tiger. Be aware that Computer specific or upgrade versions should be avoided since they are optimized for the computer to which they are specific and will therefore very likely cause problems during or after installation. On the legal side, it may be a violation of the Software License Agreement which statesThis License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single computer at a time. This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time...
Tiger can be purchased from the Apple Store or, on CDs, from applerescue.
If your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Tiger but does not have a DVD drive here are your options:
    1. If you already own Tiger on DVD
    *The Apple Media Exchange Program
*Use an external Firewire DVD Drive.
    *Use Firewire Target Disk Mode
Take a look at the article Installing Tiger without a DVD drive which describes these procedures.
    2. If you don’t already own Tiger on DVD
*Purchase Tiger on CDs from applerescue
Please post back with specific questions or comments.
    Good luck.

  • I can't update from 10.5.8. HELP!

I can't update from 10.5.8. Every time i click on Software Update the little bar just goes about a quarter, and stops. Then it says my connection timed out, even though it's perfect. HELP

You need to go to SL first, Lion download builds on SL 10.6.6 and above.
Best approach is to order SL, which will be someting like 10.6.3, and then do the on-line (free) update to 10.6.8 using the single Combo updater.  Then download Lion from the app store for $29 (US)...when you do that, make a copy of the Lion installer in a separate location (downloads to Applications) since it will delete itself after installing.  Since it is 4 GB you don't want to download again if you need it.  That is legal since you buy once and can download again without extra charge.
