Hello im having a graphics issue in some games and bfg tech support told me to update bios and chipset driver,,,i updated bios no prob but canot figure out how to go about updating chipset driver

I have no idea why apple doesn't update its bootcamp driver after all this time. I need to update my imac graphic drivers update in windows due to adobe flash player crashing my graphics driver whenever Im browsing a flash heavy website. ADM website doesn't allow me to download the drivers but I thought maybe one of you has found a direct link to the driver.

Yours is dated oct 2010 as above so depending on what card it is the newest dates are below:

the message mainly says that my driver date is oct 18 and there are newer ones now and i also think it shall be the solution
so I went to lenove and downloaded this one:

we can clearly see that its release date is 2010/11/9
then here comes the installation and what i want to ask:
first i uninstalled my older wireless driver using control panel
then i installed the newer one
but when i check it in control panel, unfortunately it still shows "driver date: 2010/10/8" which is the same as older one
no matter what new drivers i intalled, they all showed 10/8 in the control panel whatever the actual release date they have
so the blue screen just keeps troubling me
may you tell me what'sthe reason and the solution?
put an end to this plz...(a new computer but almost crashs at least once a day)

programs, thinkvantage, system update. if you don't already have it download it from the link and run it. it will give you a list of updated drivers for your system. don't just download and install all of them at once, do it one at a time and reboot after each one. if there is one for your bios, do that one first.

Can't update my AGP driver MSI 648 Max-L

Hello, I have the MSI 648 Max-L (SiS 648 motherboard).
When I try to update the SiS AGP driver from 1.13 to anything newer (the latest is 1.16a), nothing happens. The installer fails to run.
What seems to be wrong?
Specs:
WinXP SP1
MSI 648
512MB PC2700
Radeon 9700Pro

I'm having the same problem while trying to istall SiS AGP driver 1.15 but i have no previous versions installed though.

Can BIOS update "lose" RAID Drive?

If I flash my BIOS am I going to lose my raid drive/e.g. build it again and install windows?
Any help appreciated.

I know lots of peopl are having the same problem. I have a Zen Micro 5Gb. I have previously updated the firmware to the plays for sure (about 2 years ago) and it's been fine.
The device had had the hard dri've replaced after it failed, and I need to reload the firmware. I have all the files, I've read all the FAQ and support I used last time (I keep everything) and my notes from 2 years ago say it was easy.
However. Not now. I figure WMP caused a lot of problems. Right - got that out the way. Fresh installs of XP SP2 is the way to go.

But, I keep going round in circles. Can't update firmware without driver, can't update driver without firmware.
Any driver install I try asks me to connect the device to complete the installation, but, it won't recognise the device because there is no firmware. I try to upload the firmware, and it says there is no device (because there is no driver).
I have tried multiple machines, with SP2 installed and only WMP9 (never had WMP0).
I have tried USB , 2, hubs, front ports back ports, again on multiple machines.
I've even used an XP install on VMware on a MAC (This was the closest to success).
On the Mac, The player was recognised even in its flash problem state and I could actually start the firmware update. However, it failed to complete successfully.
Has anyone actually managed to do a firmware update on n old Zen using a 2008 PC? Please help!

If your player had PlaysForSure firmware, you'll need to download a PlaysForSure firmware version. That should resolve your issues since PlaysForSure does not use a Creative driver but rather a nati've Windows driver. But you will need to have WMP0 installed, WMP9 does not support PlaysForSure.

Hp 700-214 Can't update video driver

I have an HP 700-214 with a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 card. I can't update the video driver through Intel (It tell me there's a custom driver installed by the manufacturer) and when I try to update it through HP, it gives me an error 9996 "Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements."
I'd rather uninstall HP's factory driver and get one that is going to be updated regularly but how do I do that? And if that's no pheasible, how do I update the darn thing?
It's refusing to run some pretty rudimentary programs and the ones that it does run are choppy.

K8N Neo Platinum/Chipset Driver

I'm having a problem.
I play WOW a lot and have been using the same old 66.93 video drivers for my eVGA 6800gt with no problems. Well after purchasing BF2 it said i needed a newer driver so i got the latest ones from eVGA (77.77). Well BF2 played kind of wierd still but WOW pretty much was unplayable....it would freeze every 20 seconds or so. So then i went back and loaded up my old 66.93 drivers again....WOW worked perfectly again and BF2 was also playable.
Now i can play both games at this time, however i'm sure i'll run into another problem down the road with the old 66.93 driver, it will just go out of date eventually.
So my question is, am i having this problem because i have the original chirpset drivers that came with my K8N Neo Platinum board? Do i need to get the new chipset drivers?
its a nforce3 250gb chipset driver...but i'm not sure what version (i'm at work). If this is what i need what do i unload on my computer first before going to Nvidia's site and downloading the newest chipset drivers? I'm used to loading and unloading video drivers but i've never done a chipset driver replacement yet...a little guidence would be nice (i'm sure it's simple i just don't want to mess something up).
oh...and i also used the MSI Live Update to update my bios already so that's done.

I don't see the point in updating a graphics driver if the older one delivers all the functionality of the card. It's not like many other drivers - newer graphics drivers can make performance worse instead of better, because they may be optimised for features of newer cards. The 66.93 drivers should do the job OK. They won't go "out of date" because they will always be as old as your card. It's the card which may go out of date compared with the requirements of future games.
I also don't think a newer game should require a newer driver. The driver is to enable functionality of the hardware. It cannot add new functionality that isn't there (that's not to say that a driver can't improve existing functionality if it's written better than a previous version or includes bug fixes).
What the game can legitimately say is that it requires functionality that your card doesn't have, but I don't suppose that's your problem. It could be worth updating your chipset driver package if you don't have the latest release - you can use Live Update to check that. If it says a newer version is available (5.10 is the latest public release for Windows XP 32-bit) I would download it, uninstall the current drivers (both chipset & graphics) in control panel, install the new chipset drivers & then re-install the graphics.
But maybe the problem is unrelated to these drivers. Have you got the latest directx runtime installed? That might be what your new game needs. You can use Windows Update to check for that.

Updating Two External Drives

I'll hopefully be brief and clear. I have two external hard drives. My home drive and work drive both have iTunes libraries. I sometimes buy or burn music on the home drive and bring the drive to work so I can update it with the new music. How can I update the work drive with the new music without having to recopy and paste the entire library?

Were these old Time Machine backups? If so, those are hideously complex in structure, and will take a very long time to delete.... especially if you made the mistake of doing a secure empty, which was not necessary in this situation and will only slow the process down far more. Just wait until it finishes, but be aware that it will take a while.
As for why the system slows down when those drives are connected, that's hard to say. Could be a hardware issue with one of those drives.

at the moment I am trying to get all drivers together for the new windows 8.
So far so good. I got almost all, but the newest BIOS Update contains an README which is mentioning to install a specific USB 3.0 driver prior flashing the new BIOS.
But where can I get the driver?
Also for windows 7 there has been a chipset-driver, will there also one in windows 8?
In the download section you can download a driver for the use of the caching-ssd called Intel RapidStorage, but as far as I know, does Lenovo use Expresscache under windows 7..

I am not familiar witheither the ThinkPad S430 or the Iomega external USB 3.0 hard disk drive, but I wonder if the latter might not be receiving enough power over the USB cable. Does the Iomega drive have an option to take power from an external AC adapter or second USB port? If so, try providiing additional power and see if that allows the drive to be recognized when attached to the ThinkPad S430.

HT1751 I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I use a Flash Drive to do so?

I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). I have IE 8 on Windows XP, and iTunes 10 something. In my Program files list I see iTunes and iTunes (2) and even iPod and iPod (2) where a tech had to back up and do this for me before. I'm just trying to fix it all. I keep getting the "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below." I can even run a search and find the folder, but it gives me the same error message. I was planning on using the Microsoft Fix-It tool to help uninstall then Reinstall iTunes. But I need to backup my library. So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I copy the folder to desktop or can I use a Flash Drive to backup my music? I don't want to do anything until I know for sure how I can backup my songs, and then reinstall them into iTunes. Thanks for any help.

Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to 'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)

Ok, I found in the Net the drive 7uw706ww.zip, which is Version 6.1.4.2, while the updated version is 6.1.10.5 (7UW708WW).
I tried again the GPS, and it wasn't working.
Anyway, before downgrading, I tried to reinstall the new driver, downloading and installing the .exe instead going through System Update.
Result: now GPS is working (same place, same conditions, just 5 minutes later)!
Don't know where the difference is...

I moved my itunes library to an external hard drive and now I can not update my phone and my apps aren't showing in the sidebar of my library. How can I fix this?

I moved my whole library onto an external hard drive but now when I plug my phone in, it can't back up, it can't update and my apps stopped showing up on the side. It still charges and syncs but I can't update the software. I use a PC. Does anyone know how to fix this?

So is your media folder called iTunes Music or iTunes Media? And does it have a folder called Music inside it?
Before going any further you should first attempt to use File > Library > Organize Library > Rearrange files in the folder "<Media Folder>" (ignore if grayed out). This will make sure that any iPod Games or Mobile Applications get placed inside the iTunes Media folder which is needed for portability.
If your iTunes Media folder is called iTunes Music, close iTunes, rename the folder as iTunes Media and start iTunes again. iTunes will automatically adjust. Close iTunes again.
On your external drive rearrange the folders that you have already copied there so that they match the layout in your active library. You should end up with a folder called X:\iTunes where X: is the external drive letter, and the media folder is X:\iTunes\iTunes Media. If the library layout was upgraded then you will need to create a Music folder inside this and move all the artist folders and Compilations into Music. You will also need to copy iPod Games and Mobile Applications from your internal drive into the new media folder. Next copy the files iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, sentinel and the folder Album Artwork from the internal drive into X:\iTunes. The preceding manipulations should make the internal and external copies of your library match without you having to copy all of the media over again.
Now hold shift as you start iTunes. Click choose, browse to and open X:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl.
Finally use File > Library > Organize Library > Consolidate files. This will ensure that any stray files that might have been added from outside your original media folder will be copied into the new one.
You can now reclaim the space used by your library on the internal drive, however before you do so I would advise you to obtain another external drive and make use of this backup tip.
