Can I update or fix the hardware issue with my iPad instead of a usb  for my 2007 MacBook Pro

Have no idea what you are asking about. What hardware issue? What does a USB and a 2007 MacBook Pro have to do with it?

iOS 7.0.3 did not fix the mirroring issue with ATVs and AirServer.  Anyone have an idea what needs to be done?  The only solution we have found is to reboot the iPad.  We don't have the option of restarting the wireless as so many people are on and it would further disrupt classes.

How do I fix the buffering issues with the radio app? When I try to listen to the Hay House Radio station it buffers quite a lot for no apparent reason sometimes.  I have not been able to find any settings to adjust this. Does anyone know what I might be able to do to modify this problem?

  • What is the best 500GB HDD for a 2007 macbook pro

what is the best 500GB HDD for a 2007 macbook pro. This is a pre unibody machine.
I am upgrading at the minute and can't make my mind up. I need a 7200rpm drive, but have heard some stories concerning overheating etc.
These are the drives I am looking at: Seagate Momentus, Hitachi Travelstar and Western Digital all 500GB, running at 7200rpm.

If you haven't already, you might look a the user comments at http://www.newegg.com on those hard drives. If you don't get other comments here, you might post in the MBP discussion (this is the iMac discussion) at https://discussions.apple.com/community/notebooks/macbook_pro

  • IPlayer Update (Hopefully Fixes the DRM Issues)

So an iPlayer Update has appeared in my Nokia Suite today, hopefully it fixes the DRM issues everyone has been experiancing for the past month
Unfortunatly Nokia Suite won't let me install it without re-installing Anna Apps pt 2
As I don't want communicator or Shazam taking up space on my C drive and really don't want to have to go through the hassle of uninstalling them again,
can somebody from the UK who hasn't used the onboard software update in the last 24 hrs please confirm if the iPlayer update shows up in this
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Doesn't show up in Software Updates for me, so cannot do OTA. Installed via Nokia Suite along with the **bleep** from Anna 2/2, which I promptly removed. Downloaded something from the iPlayer and it plays on my N8 without any issues.

  • Where can I buy an A1290 adapter for my 2007 MacBook Pro?

    HELP!
My old computer's adapter has died but I still use this computer as a backup.. the only places I seem to be able to purchase a replacement adapter are Amazon / ebay and the sellers sound dodgy (fake adpater, breaks after a month etc).
Can I not buy one of these direct from Apple???????????
Thanks for any help in advance!
    Alice

    Alice,
according to this Apple page, your 2007 MacBook Pro originally came with a 85 W adapter with a “T”-head. Apple no longer manufactures these; they’ve been replaced by “L”-head adapters, since they are supposed to withstand stress at the head better than the “T”-headed ones do. Since that page states that the “L”-head adapters can be used on models that originally came with the “T-head” adapters, you can buy the “L”-head analogue for your “T”-head adapter directly from Apple here.

  • Does anyone know the maximum hard drive size for a 2007 Macbook Pro (A1226)?

I have a 2007 Macbook Pro (A1226). Is there a limit to the sized hard drive that can be installed? If so, what is the largest hard drive I can put into it? I have a 500GB HD that I upgraded to from the 320 GB that was in it when I bought it. I'm now trying to install a 1 TB or 750 GB drive, but after cloning with 'Carbon Copy Cloner' and installing it, I get the "?-folder" flashing when I start up. I'm pretty confident in CCC because if I use it to clone to another 500GB HD, it works fine. The problem only occurs when I try to use larger drives. Is 500GB the largest HD I can use in this machine? If so, can anyone point me to a spec sheet so I can be sure the next Macbook I buy can be expanded to suit me.
    Thanks in advance.

You said:  "I've never tried the restore function in disk utility. Would that be the same as cloning the drive?
YES!  See the my old instructions below.  What you might try after step 5 is to restart you MBP holding down the Option key.  Select the new HDD icon and see if it boots.  This way you will know that the new HDD is operable.
    Ciao.
INSTALLING A NEW HDD IN A MB
    1. Make certain that you have backed up all of your important data.
    2. You will need a HDD enclosure.  One with a USB connection will do.  A 9 pin Firewire is better.
    3. Install your new drive in the enclosure and connect it to your MBP.
    4. Open DISK UTILITY>ERASE.  From the left hand column drag the new drive into the 'Name' field.  Make sure that the format is 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)'.  Click on the 'Erase' button.
    5. Click on the 'Restore' button (on top).  Drag the old drive into the 'Source' field and the new drive into the 'Destination'  field.  Click on the 'Restore' button on the bottom right hand corner.
Depending upon the amount of data you are transferring, this may take a couple hours or more.  A Firewire will speed up the transfer.  This will result in both drives having identical information on them.
    6. After the data transfer has completed, you may swap the drives.  Start the MBP and you have finished the installation.  The initial boot may take a bit longer than you are accustomed to, but that is normal.
    7. When you are satisfied that the new hard drive if functioning properly, you can erase the old drive and use it for any needs that you may have.

  • Does the 10.6.4 update fix the freezing issues with the i5 & i7 MBP's

Since I am on the fence about buying a new 15" MBP I would be interested to know what effect the new update has on the latest MBP's and the freezing issues some are experiencing.

The "freezes" that are mentioned in other threads here appear to be due to a wide variety of different issues. Looking at the relevant posts I'd reckon about one in thirty of them at the most are due to an unusual issue with a few of the current MBPs. The other 29 are simply the regular array of things that cause freezes on any computer - out of date software, corrupted directory structures, the migration of already corrupted software from older computers, duplicate or corrupted fonts, badly written third party software, the occasional shonky HD or RAM module, etc etc etc.
THis is a non-issue from what I can see. Some people may well benefit from updating to 10.6.4 , but probably only because it replaces some files that have been corrupted for other reasons in the past.
I certainly wouldn't be putting off getting a new MBP on the basis of the stuff here. Sure, some people will experience "freezes", but there doesn't really seem to me to be anything out of the ordinary being reported here with respect to the new MBPs. There are a thousand and one things that can lead to "freezes". In a few cases it probably is due to a hardware problem with one component or another. In the vast majority, however, it will simply be because of the common old "thousand and one shocks that silicon chips, magnetic storage and software developers are heir too"!
    Cheers

  • When are they going to fix the syncing issue with podcast playlists...????

And is there anywhere I can complain to Apple about it..??????? This is getting REALLY frustrating....

Which version of iTunes are you using? 9.0.1 fixes several Podcats issues - see this link for a news item:

Note the iTunes version - if you're still using 9.0, move up to 9.0.1

  • I was wondering if you have fixed the compatibility issues with java and flash players in the new patch

after update 6.0.0 all java scripts and flash players where incompatible and disabled i tried re-down loading new versions and tried to erase Firefox and all ad-dons and reload them and still had issues with them i had to re-download Firefox 5 to continue to use your program and i wanna make sure that in 6.0.2 i will not have to do the same thing.. it is a head ache and inconvenient

    You're welcome.
The only workarounds to this problem is going back to Safari 4,
You can revert to 4.0.5, instructions here.

  • Has anyone fixed the ringer issue with 4s?

I have tried the alcohol, the compressed air to clean the connection, the verification that the ringer tone is still available... anyone?

Sorry to hear that you have crashing issues with Safari. Most people don't.
If your Safari keeps crashing, or if you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers and other plug-ins from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed 10.4.11 and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 uses Safari 3.0.4 which is not a beta. If Safari 3.0.4 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
(Trying to revert to Safari 2 when running 10.4.11 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.0.4 uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail, Dashboard widgets etc also rely.)
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Add-on that have been frequently mentioned here, among others, for causing such problems are Piclens, Saft, AcidSearch and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them and go the developer's sites to see if new versions are available for Safari 3.0.4.
You should also ensure, if you are running Tiger 10.4.11, that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2008-001.
As Leopard also uses Safari 3.0.4, much of the above may well also apply to Leopard, but is not guaranteed.

  • Update to ios 5 caused issues with my apple id vs. email used for id.

After updating both iphone and ipad to ios 5, it asked to change my apple id from username to email, but will not verify it, saying the email has already been verified with another id.  That would be me.  can I change back to my original user id?  How?  Am a little stuck, now.  Can't update, add apps, or anything without the correct username and password.  Which I have.  Boo.

You had to use an email address to activate the account, so you might want to think back for what email you could have used and see if you can reset it.
I had a similar issue to yours when upgrading iTunes and iOS5. I think it was because Apple changed their security requirements for passwords - they introduced a new requirement to use a minimum of 8 characters, to include upper case, lower case, and numbers in the password.  This was new and caught many off guard.

  • Issues with sleep/wake feature after 16GB RAM upgrade in my MacBook Pro. Any thoughts?

Just installed a 16GB RAM upgrade in my MacBook Pro and now it doesn't wake up on it's own when I open the lid. I have to press the power button. It works fine with a smaller RAM upgrade.
I've tried putting in just one of the 8GB modules and the sleep/wake feature works as normal so there isn't a problem with the RAM modules that I've bought (Crucial.com). I've also put in a combination of Apple's original RAM and the new ones to make 10GB (8GB + 2GB), and the sleep/wake feature works on that too. Put both 8GB modules back in and the MacBook doesn't wake up when I open the lid, I have to press the power button to wake it up. The MacBook itself works fine, super fast and the memory is recognised on 'About This Mac', the sleep/wake issue is the only problem I'm having with the 16GB RAM.
Any thoughts on this? Has anybody else had this sleep/wake issue like this when upgrading RAM?

I upgraded my early 2011 MBP to 16 gigs with Crucial. My machine would not sleep properly, because when I tried to wake it, it would wake from its hibernate image file. This is the issue I've seen here in this list.
I tried all the suggestions I saw on these groups. Nothing helped. I contacted Crucial, who suggested that if their RAM was defective, they'd replace it per their warranty process. I needed some proof it was their RAM causing the problem.
I put the original 8 gigs RAM back in the machine (2 4 gig sticks), and it behaved normally. I then put one stick of Crucial RAM in, all by itself. The machine behaved normally. I put the other stick of Crucial RAM back in, and took the first one out. The machine would not properly sleep and wake from sleep. This proved that one stick was causing the problem, and the other was not.
    Defective RAM!
I then requested and received an RMA from Crucial to send the defective RAM back. They paid shipping. I got new sticks of RAM about a week later. These new sticks of RAM work properly. No sleep issues.
I'm surprised and disappointed to say that this is not the first time I've received defective RAM from Crucial. I've purchased from them for years, and had GREAT service and received high quality products. The past couple years my experience has been different.
I'm still pretty steamed about this, as I spent a great deal of time trying to diagnose the problem and fix it. I don't really have that kind of time to waste. My expectation was that their RAM was high quality, and unlikely to be at fault.
Perhaps this is just a bad batch of RAM. I get that. I can forgive them once. But this has happened twice in the past three years. I'll look elsewhere for my next memory purchase.
Keep in mind that their customer ratings are generally very high. My experience is probably  isolated.
