Can I update Oracle XE v10.2.0.1.0 to v10.2.0.4.0 ?

I have installed Oracle XE database v10.2.0.1.0 As far as I know there is a version
v10.2.0.4.0 out there.
How can I update an existing Oracle XE installation?
I found no patch for this.

How can I update an existing Oracle XE installation?You might want to go back and read the license agreement that you accepted when you got Express Edition. That spells it out.
In a nutshell - you can now purchase one of the 'full' editions (SE1 is least expensive), migrate to that, purchase support, get and apply the patch.

  • Can we update oracle standard table Attributes column by custom trigger?

    Can we update the oracle Standard table's Attributes column using custom trigger? Is it allowed by oracle? Is this supported?
    Thanks

    ATTRIBUTE columns store DFF information and therefore custom code can be used to update their contents. Care must be taken that such updates do not cause "logical" corruption (an ATTRIBUTE column may be designed to store the color of a product, for example, but an incorrect SQL statement can update the value to a numeric one, thus causing corruption - Oracle does not have a means to check the validity of these update statements). Also, some localizations, such as Brazil and India, reserve some ATTRIBUTE columns for their use - updating such columns is not supported. More information may be found in the Flexfields Guide for your release at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/applications.html

    Yes unfortunatally.... apple is slowly weening out 10.4.11 machine... even wrose is that you cant get 10.5.x any more apple cant even sell it through the gpone.
    your best bet is to look into snow loepard > it would evovle an earse adn install on the computer as well.
    which means if you consider going to snow loepard you need to back up your datat to an extern HD
    snow loepard is 30 dollars aprox
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575 is the spec for what your compteur must have inorder to get there.
    Now if your not sure or concerened call apple they can tell you what your comptuer needs > how to get it > where and if you go out and by snow loepard and then call us you get 90 software phone support and they will help you back up the compteur before upgradeing to snow loepard

  • Can't update oracle Long data type

    Hi All,
    Setup
    Weblogic 5.1.0sp11, oracle 8.1.6, Solaris8, classes12.zip,
    Solaris_JDK_1.2.1_03a
    ConnectionPool:
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.XXXDBPool=\
    url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@10.2.30.50:1521:ZZZZ,\
    driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\...etc
    Problem
    I can't seem to write to (insert/update) an oracle type Long column
    using connections from the weblogic connection pool. Each entry(as
    XML) into this column is fairly large (>1MB). Reading from works fine,
    however.
    The same configuration(minus connection pool and associated
    code/config) via tomcat works fine(read/write), so I'm thinking the
    weblogic connection pool is giving me a connection object which
    doesn't update this Long column properly.
    Using the usual(again works fine for tomcat) :-
    //Url = jdbc:weblogic:pool:XXXDBPool
    //driver = weblogic.jdbc.pool.Driver
    stat = con.prepareStatement("UPDATE BM_RM_USER_DIARY set DIARY=? where
    id=?");
    //stat.setString(1,diaryData); //use an inputstream instead.
    ByteArrayInputStream bais = new
    ByteArrayInputStream(diaryData.getBytes());
    //StringBufferInputStream bais = new
    StringBufferInputStream(diaryData); //deprecated
    stat.setAsciiStream(1, bais, bais.available());
    stat.setLong(2,userId);
    I'm not getting any errors from this update, so I can't really see
    what I might be doing wrong. It just returns fine as if it has
    succeeded (rows updated = 1)
    Assuming I CAN NOT change these settings, are there any other ways I
    can programmatically get these inserts working ? Is this even a known
    issue ? as i can't find a problem in these postings that quite matches
    mine.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi All
    Just to follow up on this.
    The problem was solved by explicitly calling commit() after
    the update has taken place.
    It seems as though my connection from the connection pool has
    autocommit set to false.
    Thanks

  • In Oracle Service - Version: 11.5.9 How can I Update the owner of a SR to N

    Hi,
    I´m using cs_servicerequest_pub.update_servicerequest and it works ok, but when I set the owner_id to NULL I get an API error.
    Anyone knows how to set the owner of a SR to NULL thru this API?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Yes in 11.5.9 is mandatory too, but from Oracle Support Application it´s possible to set the OWNER_ID of a incident to NULL so we got incidents with this field set to NULL.
    The problem is that we can´t update this incidents without setting the owner_id to a 'valid' owner. (In this case it works)
    I have searched about this in metalink but I got no solution to this isssue...
    It´s another method to achieve this than using this procedure?

  • Oracle 11g database can we update patch directly from 11.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.4.0?

    Hi,
    I have installed Oracle 11g database.
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production
    CORE 11.2.0.3.0 Production
    TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production
    I want to update the patch.
    Oracle 11g database can we update patch directly from 11.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.4.0?
    Is any impact on the database?
    Kindly suggest,
    Regards,
    Sachin

    11.2.0.4 is nothing but a patchset of 11.2.0.3, in-place upgrade is allowed :
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e23633/preup.htm#UPGRD12370
    "You cannot install the new software into the same location for Oracle home as your current release, unless you are installing an Oracle Database 11g patchset release. For a patchset release, you can use the same Oracle Database 11g Oracle home."
    And since it's a patchset, a direct upgrade is ok.
    Lastly, yes, every upgrade has an impact (e.g. perf.), it has to be tested.

    Upgrading to Yosemite
    You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
    To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
        OS X Mavericks/Yosemite - System Requirements
          Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Yosemite
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
    To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?
             See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
    If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
    You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Can't launch updated Adobe Reader v10.1.3 in Firefox v3.6.28 in Mac OS X 10.5.8?

    Hello.
    Is it me or does the newly updated Adobe Reader v10.1.3 does not load from Firefox v3.6.28 in Mac OS X 10.5.8? This is after I click on any PDF links on a web site. Safari had no problems though!
    Thank you in advance.

    It's not about that, I think, as I got the exactly same bug with Firefox 12.0 / OS X 10.7.3 after the last Adobe Reader update.
    However, the release notes are interesting, see p. 6: "If you still require a 32-bit solution, this update also supports Mozilla Firefox for Macintosh when it is opened in 32-bit mode."
    So, it seems that the last update is pushing the inline viewer (NPAPI?) plugin to 64-bit Firefox, even that it's known that it wouldn't work. In Mozilla forums some had tried to fix this by forcing Firefox to open in 32-bit mode (via Finder -> Applications -> right-click Firefox -> Get Info -> check Open in 32-bit mode), but I'd rather see the bug itself fixed.
    Interesting. Where are you seeing this in Mozilla forums? I didn't see anyone talk about this Adobe Reader problem in Firefox newsgroups on news.mozilla.org news server even after I posted my issue.
    It's in this bug report: http://support.mozilla.org/fi/questions/925055 - confirmed already by 230 people, by the way...
    Sorry to hear that the 32-bit workaround didn't work for you. (I haven't even tested it yet myself, just disabled the plug-in altogether to get the pdf files even loaded to Preview...)

    Where can I find Oracle 9i for Solairs x86?
    Thanks advance!

    10g on Solaris 10 needs special handling:
    1. Execute runInstaller with the -ignoreSysPrereqs option.
    2. Select 'Do not create a starter database' when installing Oracle 10g.
    3. During installation, the warning message 'SUNWsprox package not installed' can be ignored. Press Continue to resume the installation.
    4. Download and install patch 4186426 from metalink.oracle.com after installing Oracle 10g software.
    5. If you have an End User Solaris 10 distribution, install the SUNWuiu8 package prior to installing the 10g client.

    Can not update iTunes because I have iMac with 10.5.8 . How I will sync my iphone 6.0 with an older version of iTunes on my iMac???? There is no update for the software of my iMac and no update for the iTunes.... So how can I sync????

    Requirements for iPhone 5:
    Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
    Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
    PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later

    The highest version of iTunes you can install is 10.6.3 which will not sync with the iPhone 5.

    I'm inclined to go by the published specs, but now I have to jump thru a bunch of hoops I wasn't expecting to.
