Can I upgrade from Photoshop CS6 Standard to Extended

From everything I have been able to find out, I would need to pay the full $400 upgrade from my CS4 license even though I already own CS6. Surely there must be a way to go from CS6 to CS6 Extended for less than the cost to go from a previous version to CS6 Extended, but if there is, I cannot find a way how.
Thanks,
R

Primarily a budgetary concern. At the time, I had $199 to spend on the upgrade. The extra $200 wasn't going to happen before the end of December when the pricing was said to increase so I went ahead and picked up CS6. The 3D capabilities would be nice to have and probably would be helpful in future projects, but the need right now was to get the upgrade to the standard with the (now presumably false) assumption I could upgrade when I had a few more gigs show up.
If it's another $400 to upgrade, it won't be worth it for me. My primary job is programming, I only do side work for photography and some simple design and while it'd be nice to have some basic 3D ability in Photoshop, it's not $600 worth (400 for the upgrade + the $200 I already spent).

  • Can I upgrade my Photoshop CS6 Standard to CS6 Extended

I currently have Adobe CS6 Design Standard Student and Teacher Edition Bundle installed on my Mac, which was purcharsed with the laptop from Apple. I have had a small insight to the Photoshop CS6 Extended creating three-dimentional objects and I have started to get really interested in it.
I want to find out if I can upgrade my current version of photoshop to the extended version? I dont want to buy the package again like Adobe said I would have to do if I wanted it.

I didn't want the extended for free! I wanted to pay the difference and upgrade it but they said I couldn't.
Yes, we know. But as I explained, the only way to change the software you already purchased to the Extended version is to give you a new serial number. That would mean having two serial numbers you can use to install the software with.
You're allowed to have any Adobe software activated on two computers. With two serial numbers for what is really only one purchase, you'd then be able to install PS on four computers; two as Standard and two as Extended. There's no way for Adobe to "take back" the original Standard serial number, or negate it. You would have two full licenses for one original purpose. That's why they won't do it for only the difference in price between the two versions.

  • Can't upgrade from Photoshop CS6 to Complete CC

I'm trying to upgrade my current plan (Photoshop CS6 1-year plan) to the brand-new Complete CC. I follow this scenario:
    1. In a new browser tab go to https://creative.adobe.com/plans?store_code=de
    2. In the Special Offers section click the blue "Pick a Plan" button
    3. Then choose Complete for CS6
And then I'm just redirected to https://creative.adobe.com/
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi there
If you already have a Photoshop single app membership you can upgrade this to complete Creative Cloud from within your account - see http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/membership-subscription-troubleshooting- creative-cloud.html - Change to an annual membership or a full Creative Cloud membership
The special offer pricing you referred to only applies to customers who own a Creative Suite CS6 edition or individual product as a perpetual license.
    Thanks

Can I upgrade from Photoshop CS3 to CS6?

I think so, but only via the Creative Cloud, and with a one year commitment. And that upgrade may be only for suites, not individual apps. I didn't look that closely. See the page here:

How can I upgrade from Photoshop CS4 to Cs 5 or 6 without buying the creative cloud?

    Well CS5's ship has sailed.
CS6 can still be purchased on Perpetual License but it's not going to have all the bells & whistles that the current versions have.  Just as long as you understand what you're getting.

    Hi Raymond,
I would advise you to buy the bundle package of Premiere and Photoshop Elements 13 which cost 149 $ but due to online promotions the price right now is 119 $.

  • Can I upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS5 after installing Lion?

Can I upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS5 after installing Lion?   Or should I have done it before installing Lion?

I think you are missing my point.
For the last many editions of the creative suite they have each been completely independent. There is no "going over a previous version. Each version stands on its own and is a clean install — as long as you haven't installed that specific version before.
And "obsolete" is a pretty relative term. With products as complex as the creative suite there are often features (or even whole applications) that change between versions. Many people I know keep earlier versions around, just for that very reason.

  • Can I upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Pro?

Can I upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Pro?

As I indicated, the store gives an upgrade from Std to Pro, though I think the price is not appropriate. If you go to the basic page for Acrobat, they are no pushing the subscription version. If you do to the buying guide you get the regular version option (http://www.adobe.com/content/dotcom/en/products/acrobatpro/buying-guide.html). The upgrade is $199, which I think is crazy. Something like $70 is more appropriate, the difference in cost between Std and Pro upgrades, or at least $150 for the difference of the full products. If the Std had been an upgrade, the cost of a full upgrade is not reasonable. Anyway, a screen capture of the cost is below:
So apparently the guys on the chat have no clue what they are talking about. However, that does not surprise me. What bothers me is some of the unreasonable pricing as I see it in the store.

  • Cannot direct upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS5 Extended

Despite the information in various spots on Adobe's website, it appears that it's not possible to simply upgrade from Photoshop CS2 to CS5 Extended. After entering the CS5 serial number, the installer asks for the serial number of a "qualifying product". This includes a dropdown list that only has
    Photoshop CS5
    Photoshop CS4 Extended
    Photoshop CS3 Extended
    Here's the view:
Entering the CS2 serial number == fail.
A call to Adobe support get past this issue, basically reading out a challenge/response from the installer to the guy on the phone. But this seems remarkably stupid to me. Was it really more effective to force me (and anyone else following this upgrade path) to call tech support just to install the software I just past $350 for? And if this was the plan, why not SAY SO ON THE ADOBE WEBSITE?!?
Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, was calling tech support the only way out?

You are correct in wishing Adobe made it clear that you do need to go through Customer Service to accomplish this.
Most users make the purchase through Adobe and straighten this out before installing.

  • How could I update from photoshop cs6 standard to photoshop cs6 extended?

    Hello,
I'd like to update my photoshop cs6 standard to photoshop cs6 extended to work with the 3d features. I've looked on adobe's website but I can only buy the update from photoshop cs5 standard and not cs6. Is there any solution?
    Thanks, regards

CS6 cannot be upgraded.  If you join the Creative Cloud and download PhotoshopCC2014 you get it with the 3D features.

  • Can I upgrade from Photoshop Elements 7.0 to 8.0?

Hello, I was just wondering if I would be able to upgrade from Photoshop Elements 7.0, to Photoshop Elements 8.0 or 9.0? I ask, because I'm still currently running Windows XP, but I will be switching over to Windows 7 this weekend, and it turns out that PE 7.0 isn't compatible with W7. After running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it has informed me that a paid upgrade is required, but I just can't figure out how to upgrade. I know there are newer versions for PE, but I don't really care for PE 12. I just want something simple. If anyone has any information on this, please feel free to answer.

    Yes it should work.
Here are a couple of discussions about it:

  • Upgrade from Photoshop cs6 extended Demo to full non extended software

    Hi there
I was wondering, when upgrading my Photoshop CS6 extended demo to the full version of Photoshop CS6 (non extended) does the extended demo need to be completely removed first to prevent conflicts?

Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CS6 Extended are installed from the same files, available for download. By default, the trial enables the complete feature set in Photoshop CS6 Extended. If you choose to purchase Photoshop CS6 rather than Photoshop CS6 Extended, you may simply enter your serial number for Photoshop, and the Photoshop Extended features for 3D design and scientific analysis will be turned off and hidden from view.

  • Problem upgrading from Photoshop CS2 to CS4 Extended

I purchased the retail box Photoshop CS4 Extended Upgrade (Windows) from a retail store ($349.99 + tax). I am upgrading from Photoshop CS2 and this is the version that the Adobe website says to purchase for this upgrade path. The problem is that CS4 doesn't see my installed, working, activated, and registered CS2 installation so it brings up the next screen offering to allow me to install it as a trial version OR list my qualifying product and serial number. The way that it offers to let me enter my qualifying product is via a drop down box with a single entry of CS3 Extended. No way of entering my CS2 there and it doesn't like my CS2 serial number entered with a CS3 product being shown there (says it isn't a valid CS3 serial number...of course it isn't). Does anyone know how to get this thing to install? Adobe tech support is gone until Monday and then I'll be at work, unable to try anything they might suggest.
Why does Adobe make upgrades so painful? I remember CS2 was a PITA and took Adobe tech support a week to figure out how to get it to install.

No, this shouldn't be extended to extended (I wouldn't expect to shell out $350 twice for extended). This is Adobe P/N 65015396 which their website says is for PhotoShop CS, CS2, CS3, and CS3 upgrades and retails for $350. The face of the box is identified as Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended Windows and the side of the box only says that I must have an "eligible older version of Adobe or Macromedia software." It also says to check the website, which says this P/N is what to buy for my upgrade path. A mess? YES!!!

Can I upgrade Photoshop CS5 Extended just to Photoshop CS6, because I don't use the 3D features. I only use the picture corrections and special picture features?

Yes you can upgrade to CS6 Standard from CS5 Extended for $199.
If you are in another country, check your local Adobe Store and Click on Photoshop CS6 Upgrade, there is a dropdown list of qualifying products under "I own..."
